Absolutely the best service!! Staff were very friendly…read more Great idea adding 2 more serving windows.

We were all praying a dessert 'nightcap' could salvage this trip far from home. No pressure, Jolly Cow, no pressure. This was obviously 'the place to be' - countless people coming and going. All sorts of "hang out" areas (under a tent, in the grass on benches, you name it) - so we were feeling good that we picked a winner. We waited in line for a spell and when we went to start our order we encountered our first remora... cash only. (People still carry cash, huh?) Crisis averted (yeah, my kids had cash on them!) - back in line to try this again. Family of four all getting some serious treats and all for under $20? Sweet! (Dad puns unavoidable, sorry.) "Small" cone was the size of a Smurf (aka - 3 apples) which is crazy (good). I went with their 'Razzle' which is a step-sibling to DQ's Blizzard (I think the last time I had Reese's Pieces ET was still trying to phone home) and... pretty darn incredible. (Although it too was just TOO much of a good thing and I wish it was even smaller than their small.) You saved our weekend, Jolly Cow. And that's the "utter" truth. (I warned y'all that the dad puns weren't going to stop.)

A few things appeared to have been stored away and sorta looks as if it's kinda shoved to the side. For example : soft serve machine. Not sure if some things are placed there because not in season purposes? I wanted candy corn, my husband got a rootbeer. We were both satisfied with what we got. All payments accepted. Parking is available along the side street. Friendly service.

There seems to be a candy store in almost every ocean side town I visit. I simply walk on by as i'm…read morenot the type of parent that lets my kids buy bags of candy. So when I saw one opening in Kingston almost a decade ago I just shrugged and kept going. After learning Dianne Reeder's story you realize this isn't your ordinary candy store. Yes they have over 400 kinds of candy you can buy in bulk and the store has your typical kitschy trinkets but if you look deeper it's where you find Diane's passion and empathy for others. She just wants to make your day a little easier and for you to leave happier than you came. Certainly this isn't hard when you're scooping Janes Ice cream and serving vegan homemade soft serve using Fruition chocolate and coconut milk. Even this is fairly common place in a world over run by NYC transplants expecting everything to be homemade and gluten free. Where Dianne is different, is her commitment to community. In 2005, Diane was the winner of the Microsoft/Bill Gates Start Something Amazing Award (a program honoring the unique and inspiring ways that people use Microsoft related technology to pursue their everyday passions) for her work bringing attention to food insecurity. Her passion for cooking and her desire to help others led her to find a nonprofit organization called The Queens Galley in Kingston. The work she did with the Kingston Farmers Market was instrumental in getting them to accept food stamps. Diane's mission to have people come together and break bread in dignity has now spread across the country. Her commitment even landed her a diner at the Whitehouse with President Obama. To add to her resume she graduated the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park while raising 3 kids and running the candy bar. But let's get to the point. Diane is a pillar of the community where everybody knows her name. But what about the food? Just sitting outside snacking on my freshly roasted nuts (still warm) sipping on my 72hr steeped Lavazza cold brew I'd say simply perfect. Don't miss the carrot cake doughnut topped with maple walnuts and stuffed with macerated pineapple. The passion fruit and blackberry parfait or those rainbow cookie tricolor doughnuts. They have a sweet for everyone! Kingston Candy Bar might not be the hippest spot on the block but the love Diane puts into her work is palpable. Excellent value for a pint of ice cream for five dollars. You can't beat that value…read more The mint pint was extraordinary. Some of the best mint ice cream with chocolate that I've ever tasted. So creamy. So cold. The diversity of flavor is truly relaxing to eat. Jessica was our cashier and she gave us great thick ice cream samples. Solid bites. I've never been served bigger portions, which is so cool. We tried a handful of flavors and she was so warm and friendly to talk to you. I also got the chocolate milk, peanut butter. It's not my favorite, and I feel like the peanut butter doesn't do anything to add to the chocolate milk. So I would not recommend the peanut butter. Jessica told us that their dairy is sourced from the local dairy farm that is awarded every year. They know their stuff!

Just love Stewart's. Big city goings-on here…read more This location's no exception. A bit smaller - and never humdrum! It's a super busy shop with wild eyed, sweet, knowledgeable girls behind the counters. They sell all the New York perks: coffee, hot dogs, chips, ice cream, burgers, soda. Really, it's a one stop for anything in your kitchen, garage, garden and grill, too. Though Stewart's is usually routine for everyone in this state. This brick shop is colorful, well placed (I highly recommend King's Pizza restaurant across the street!), lit up and the shop keepers take their time to color the placards, ads, prices, signs, holiday festivities and notes. Stewarts has become culture. Review: pitch perfect, busy 5
