I wasn't sure what to order, so the barista recommended a drink and was incredibly accommodating with my many requests. I can't have too much milk or syrup, so I basically gave them a complicated custom order, and they made it exactly to my liking without hesitation. I also ended up buying one of the chocolate bars they had at the counter and turns out it was $20!!!! As a tourist, I had no idea it was a well known local chocolate brand with a factory nearby, so that was a fun surprise. This is the kind of place that makes you want to slow down. I also got an order of vindaloo to eat-in along with unsweetened ice tea. The meal was delicious. The business owner is gracious and helpful. Her ready-made lunches are served in what look to be attractive eco- friendly paper containers. When I let her know that I couldn't finish my meal, she smiled and said," I'll give you a cover for the container so you can take it home." The cover fit perfectly and was secure. Moonrise's claim to fame is their stuffed bagel. I'll attach a picture because it's easier to show rather than explain it. It must have taken quite a long time to figure out the boil/bake time for this creation. It works. The bagel is thoroughly cooked and the contents, in my case, scrambled eggs, sausage and cheese, were heated through but not overdone. Since the items are premade, the choices for your bagel are limited to Everything or Plain. The bagel also comes with a mayo/mustard sauce on the side, which seemed a tad too aggressive for my palate. The business seemed to have a steady stream of customers while I was there.
