I am beyond disappointed and honestly disturbed by my experience at this restaurant. My seafood order was mistakenly delivered to another table. That table opened the dish and ate some of the rice. Instead of immediately discarding the entire plate and remaking the meal, the server brought the same dish back to me after realizing the mistake. I was told "they didn't touch it," which was completely untrue. Once food has been served to another table and opened, it should NEVER be given to another guest -- especially seafood. This is basic food safety. The fact that this was even debated is alarming. There was no compensation, no manager intervention, and no real accountability -- just a casual apology. Only the rice was replaced, which does not resolve the fact that the rest of the dish had already been handled and served elsewhere. The inside was small and there's only two workers-- a cashier and a cook. This place is very casual, and the prices were very reasonable. The orders came really fast despite us ordering a lot of food. The food was good, the daddy sauce is a must. My mom didn't like the cajun sauce with the shrimp but do what you will with that information. We also had a miscommunication while ordering, however the waitress offered an explanation and helped us order what we were missing. The clam chowder soup tasted okay, but was way too watery and had very few clams. The steamed clams had miniscule clams inside that were too small to even taste. I asked for the linguini with shrimp medium spicy and it was too hot to eat (so I didn't) as if ground hot peppers had been sprinkled on. Come on guys! The lemonade was horrible, certainly not home made. They serve the boil mixed with sauce in a large plastic bag and give you gloves to eat it with your hands. This shocked me completely. I have certainly never been asked to eat like that before though I've had boils at nice restaurants. I tried asking questions of the waitress, but I dont' think she knew much english. Came down to Stevenson Ranch for dinner and was headed to the sushi spot next door but when we saw the festive lights, we decided to come eat here instead. I've been to Boil Daddy in West LA so I figured it was the best option when my sister (who lives in Antelope Valley) wanted crab boil and the option she picked didn't look too good. So me, my sister, and dad went to Boil Daddy in Valencia. The place is much smaller and basic as compared to the one in West LA but they are independently owned. Also, there is no booze (not even beer or wine) at this location and I doubt that will change. The place is very small and there is only one bathroom. Honestly, I wish they had a better location to grow. When we arrived, the two small groups in there were leaving but halfway through our meal, about four more parties came in and that seemed to be a lot for the small staff, but you still get your food in a very reasonable amount of time. The owner is extremely nice though. She even had her son/grandson/nephew waiting on us when we first sat down and he was so sweet and had such great manners. But it's more of a place that you would want to get your bag of food and go. There's no tv, music, or liquor. So maybe she should change it to Boil Daddy -To Go? Because the food is on point. But honestly, the food experience just didn't match up. It took over 30 minutes for my order to come out, which already had me a little frustrated. When it finally did, the flavor wasn't there. I'm used to seafood boils being packed with seasoning garlic pieces, spices, sausage, all those extras that make it worth the price. This one felt bland and plain, like something was missing. For the amount of money I spent, I walked away disappointed and not satisfied with any of the food. We weren't sure what we were even looking at. 1 basket came with 1 fish, the other with 2. I got the potatoes on the side, they had black spots and were sour. I try battered fish everywhere, even amusement parks and this was the worst quality by far. They do not have any quality control over here and there seems to be no management at all. I called for a refund, they said i had to email through the website so I did. No response so I called again a few days later and they still could not help me. Manager never seems to be there despite calling during day and at night. They said they would text their manager and alert her of the situation and they took down my information. I have still not heard back. Having to go through my bank, it should not be this difficult to get service. Both times the cards were charged but their "WiFi crashed" and so the charges didn't show up on their system, but it did on their bank account? So they asked to charge me again, and said the money for the first charge should "probably" go back to my account. Both pending charges went through so I've been charged twice for the same order. It's been hard to get a hold of the manager over the phone to solve this. Great food and friendly service but this is really frustrating. They told me to call back again tomorrow morning.
