We have dined here about 5 times already. Their sauce is pretty good. Not sure why they don't have anything in the display anymore. Would be nice and could bring in more customers. They don't have fountain drink anymore; just soda cans. Unfortunately for me I am NOT a Pepsi fan so I always have to resort to water. Service needs to improve. Would help if it is more welcoming, and paying attention to customers.

Always on point. Our family prefers takeout but it's a nice place to dine in.. Best seafood spot in town! Alvin

First time coming here and it looks fantastic. The menu is big but same with the prices that come with it. But it's seafood. Is it better than boiling crab and kicking Cajun, or how about crab shack? It is similar and well, I would say no but it is the same. I ordered the jumbo squid which came to $12.90 for the entire thing and boy was it good. It had alot of flavor, sweet sugary teriyaki flavor and high cholesterol, but it was really kicking. The other item was shared, it was a mild Cajun garlic shrimp pot which came with butter and potatoes. It also came with fat that was added to my belly. The price for the shrimp pot was about $20. Let me tell you, it still had the black stuff that you get inside the shrimp. They didn't clean it or cut off the head which was disappointing. The flavors were fattening and tasty. It was like I gained a couple inches below my chin of fat, the double chin. Parking outside is nice and the overall food court inside island pacific super market is nice and convenience is cool. The tables are uncomfortable and the service is great. The only negative is the pricetag and the fat. I recommend to come just because it is inside the Filipino food mart supermarket and give it a try. The wallet will bleed, but the mouths will water. The other places nearby are not as good in terms of value. The service is great compared to the neighbors.

The 1 pound king crab legs were great. Must add melted butter for additional charge and added some corn too. The staff was nice.

Service was wonderful! I had a free drink just by checking in. Everything is disposable, they provide bibs and disposable gloves. Although we went to the grocery's restroom to wash our hands. It delivered what's written in the menu. I will definitely come back here once I get a chance. Swing by if you're cravinf for some fresh seafood bucket.

The shrimp was overcooked and they totally skimped out on the crab! Would you say this is a pound because I don't think so. To think we paid $96 for this is ridiculous.

Thank you for all the hardworking people open on Christmas Day. Maligayang pasko, po.

Hit or miss with this place. The last time we ordered, we ended up having upset stomachs. But the previous time we ordered, it was great.

Ask the Community - Crab Mentality

Is this spot still operating?

I tried to order to go recently and I didn't get an answer /: and the automatic voice message said they were not operating due to what's going on. Hopefully they come back soon !

Do their sauces & ingredients contain any gluten?

I honestly don't know and did ask.

My husband has celiac disease. Are there any options at crab mentality that are gluten free?

Seafood, like all forms of meat, is naturally gluten free. I can't speak to the ingredients of their sauces but crab and/ or shrimp, dipped in butter is going to be a gluten-free entree.

What does the avg meal cost?

Meal=$20

Is this the same owners as Shrimp Haus (the ones that closed Down off Tourney Rd)?

No. This is definitely better!!! ????

We've dined in before but that was a long time ago & I couldn't recall the experience. Anyhow, husband made some bomb sticky rice the day before and since we had no ideas for what to make tonight, this sounded like a great solution! I highly recommend this deal! I ordered the 1lb head on shrimp. Daddy sauce. Mild. It was perfectly cooked and very tasty. At first I thought it was too spicy, after a few, I realized it was the perfect amount of spice. The portion was plentiful. Husband had the fish po' boy with garlic fries and said it was great. Total was $31 including tax.

What I received was corn on the cob, potatoes and sausage with a few pieces of shrimp and the crab. My family does not eat meat so I do not understand how they could make such a mistake especially when I was the only customer there. What if someone was allergic to one of the additional items? I'm pretty sure the sausage and vegetables were added to the shrimp to equal a pound. I am totally disappointed with this mistake and I see the reason why the restaurant was empty on a Saturday afternoon. There was no way I could have gone back to return the item since I live quite far and I made the mistake of not checking before I left since the girl stapled the bag and sealed the container inside. The shrimp isn't cooked well either. Some of them were cooked for too long while others seemed almost raw. Bad quality.

I stopped in to grab takeout for my husband and me and was told the order wouldn't take long. The server was helpful and answered all my questions, so I felt good about the order: clam chowder, half-order lemon pepper wings, a catfish dinner with an extra side of shrimp, and grilled salmon with two sauces on the side (and cooked medium). After waiting 45 minutes--which already felt excessive for this order--I decided to check the food. I'm glad I did. The salmon was overcooked (well done instead of medium) with the sauce already poured on top. The lemon pepper wings had barely any seasoning, like it was added after they were already dry. And they completely forgot the shrimp. The server took everything back to fix it, but that took another 30 minutes. By then, my husband's catfish (and for $19, you only get one filet) and his cheddar side were cold, and the Caesar salad was wilted and warm. When the salmon finally came back--after another 20 minutes--it was still overcooked, now rock hard, and completely unseasoned. It felt like they were relying on sauce to do all the work, but even that missed the mark. The shrimp also tasted like pre-packaged frozen, not fresh. Nearly $90 later, we didn't enjoy any part of the meal. I'd suggest sticking to the boil if you come here, because based on this experience, everything else fell short.

I was happy to finally experience the hype. :) Upon coming in, I was impressed by the decor and layout. I especially liked the booth seating -- spacious, comfortable and semi-private. For our mains, the Garlic SuYuk and BBQ Beef Ribs, plus additional bowls of rice for everyone. The banchan were set first -- the husband surprisingly enjoyed the mildly spicy fishcake the most. Our order followed just a few minutes after. The presentation of the Garlic SuYuk was so neat when it arrived bubbling hot. The tender pork slices simmering in the broth paired well with the garlic and red bean pastes. The Gal bi was very good, but those slightly spicy marinated dumplings were amazing! The entire meal was quite comforting with each flavorful bite changing with the banchan. It was a great first experience. I'm sure it won't be our last. Friendly service. Graziella and her brother have created such a special dining experience. My favorite dish has always been the pistachio sauce ravioli. I didn't see it on the menu and mentioned how much I loved it, and Graziella was kind enough to make it for me anyway, explaining that it's now part of their rotating menu. That level of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. I usually never order ravioli as a main course anywhere else, but this dish is absolutely incredible and unlike any ravioli I've had. I was on a double date and convinced my friend to order the same dish because I couldn't stop talking about it. She absolutely loved it and understood immediately why it's my favorite. My fiancé and his cousin both ordered the lamb chops and couldn't stop raving about them. My fiancé substituted the seasonal vegetables for the arugula salad. He normally doesn't eat salad, but he finished the entire thing and said it was one of the best salads he's ever had. The dressing was amazing, and after trying it myself, I completely agreed. My fiancé's cousin, who I consider like a brother, was trying lamb chops for the first time and said he felt like he'd been missing out his whole life. I also ordered the Prickly Pear Margarita from the rotating cocktail menu and enjoyed it so much that I ordered a second one. The food was outstanding, but the atmosphere deserves recognition too. The patio is beautiful, romantic, and has such a relaxing ambiance. It was the perfect setting for a double date. After being away for a few years, I'm so glad I came back. The food, service, and hospitality were just as wonderful as I remembered. Piccola Trattoria remains one of my favorite restaurants, and I can't wait to return again soon.

That Cesar salad was so tasteless and welted. Informed our waiter he dis absolutely nothing lol joke. The mojito was watered down. However the entrees was better.
