One of the BEST places to eat in Palmdale, no joke. If you like creole food come here!! I recommend the Etouffee Shrimp and the Shrimp Po Boy!!! Both were soooo flavorful and delicious. It took me back to the food I tried in Louisiana, food full of rich Creole spices. It was wonderful and tasty. Honestly come here for some really good tasting food!! I came here on a 12:30 on a Saturday and was able to get seated immediately. The venue is pretty small and I ended up parking in a lot across the street. It really feels like a hidden gem. It really feels like stepping into a mom and pop shop. I wanted to order a chicken jambalaya but it wasn't available so I ordered the crawfish jambalaya instead. I also subbed in dirty rice. The food took 10 minutes to arrive and it ended up up having chicken, sausage, and crawfish. I normally don't eat crawfish but this was delicious. I was scared for a second that I would have to peel it myself but thankfully everything was peeled. The garlic bread was good and so was the dirty rice. I ordered level 3 spice and I think it was perfect. I feel like I could do a 4 but the spice builds up over time. This was pretty good comfort food. read more

I can't complain about the food. It's always good. I just had a bad experience. 15 minutes they said. I ordered my food and didn't get it until 40 minutes later. I thought my order was in. I was having a good conversation with my friend and we looked up and people were leaving with their food, and we asked about our order and found out that it wasn't placed. I spent a lot of money and drove a long distance to get poor service. Very disappointed. Was promised a piece of peach cobbler for the inconvenience but got home and had banana pudding. Absolutely delicious. A lil more on the pricey side but I think the portions and delectable flavor totally makes up for it. I know red snapper tends to be a seasonal fish, but I was glad they could still serve us it! The daily special did however unfortunately run out by the time we were there around 3pm. Service was also good, our waitress checked in on us often and was very attentive. The restaurant is a lil bit more on the smaller, closely-knit side, so just be aware of that! I did take my family for a meal here on a day where unfortunately there was a professional photographer taking what I'd assume were advertisement photos, and him and the models were a bit louder than I'd hoped for in such a small and tight space, when I was planning on having a very important conversation with my family. Thankfully they did finish up and leave by the time dessert came around and I had the suitable environment for what I wanted to discuss. Otherwise still an overall pleasant experience. I enjoyed the heavenly jambalaya I ordered yesterday. Authentic flavor, delightful taste. Rice cooked properly. Lots of chicken and sausage. My main complaint is that I paid an extra $9 for shrimp and crawfish. There were literally 4 shrimps, maybe 5. They were fresh tasting, but severely lacking. Then there's the lack of crawfish. No decent sized crawfish, they were literally 1/2" long! Little portions! So the seafood was very disappointing. The peach cobbler came out piping hot and was exquisite. This place was a recommendation of my mother's neighbor and I will say I didn't expect much being out here in desert and the area is kinda barren. But step inside to scents of spices that make you want to order more than your tummy can handle. I ordered a sweet tea and she came back and said we're all out. Came to Lancaster from LA with the sole purpose of trying this place. Service was amazing, our waitress was this gorgeous black girl with eyelash extensions who was a sweetheart. The lady at the cash register was also very sweet. Funny enough the other customers inside the restaurant were also a great vibe. This was my first time trying shrimp po boy, and it was amazing. I should probably give this place two stars. The food was extremely salty when I went. I can attest that the roux and everything else was cooked wonderfully, but the salt level was just extreme. Even though I tend to enjoy salty food, what I got was hard to swallow. This place is nostalgic for me. It takes me back to those summers in the south. Good food. Family. Good company. Boudin is actually my favorite thing. When I was a youth, we could only have a little portion of the link my grandfather would personally buy and bring from Louisiana until he learned how to make it himself. He has been gone for 20 plus years now and Boudin is not sold in your family grocery store and hard to find so when you find someone who can make it, you stop in and patronize every chance you get. We ordered the two seafood plate with red snapper and shrimp, yams, greens and red beans and rice as sides, and a banana pudding. Everything was really good and we had no complaints on anything, which is rare not only through DoorDash, but, in the a.v, lol. I decided to put in a to-go order as I'm getting over a cold and decided to have a date with my two dogs. I got there at 12:45pm but they didn't open until 1pm. I waited in my car and I was greeted once I walked in. Here's what I ordered: Macaroni & Cheese Balls with crab Catfish & Shrimp Collard Greens Cabbage & Sausage Banana Pudding My order took a little over 30 mins, which was completely fine. I'm a patient person and I knew it would be worth the wait. I legit parked after I picked up my food just to try one of the Mac & Cheese balls, I was STARVING lol They were perfectly crispy, the macaroni and cheese was so creamy with the perfect amount of salt and I loved the crab addition. I will dream daily about those. I got home and continued with the rest of the meal. The greens were smoky, seasoned perfectly and the ham melted in your mouth. The cabbage was not my first choice, they were out of bbq beans, but no regrets at all! I could've eaten a giant container of that cabbage. It has a slightly sweet taste to it and balanced well with the sausage. The catfish with the hot sauce was *chef's kiss* Great coating, the fish was flaky and salted well. Their hot sauce is so good! I'm curious if they make it themselves. I will say, the shrimp was my favorite! The batter was delicious, you could taste the shrimp and dipped in their, I believe it was remoulade, was insanely good. The banana pudding was everything I hoped it would be! I'm not a fan of cut up bananas in pudding, but that's a personal preference. The pudding was creamy and the whipped cream threw it over the top. As my first "solo date" experience, I was so happy! It was worth the wait and for what I spent. My taste buds are a little off from my cold but I could taste all the flavor in this meal. I ordered the food for delivery and to say that I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement. I ordered a jambalaya, and it is the best budget friendly jambalaya I've had in a long time. Even the rice was incredible!! Almost buttery in texture!! The boudin balls were incredibly crunchy even after delivery, and everything had the perfect amount of spice. The food's quality is very low, okay to tolerable food taste, and way overpriced. Although their restaurant claims they use fresh ingredients, they don't use fresh ingredients! They use canned, prepackaged, or frozen ingredients! The restaurant is too hot! I don't think they even have AC. Honestly, the only difference between this restaurant and a mega-chain seat down restaurant is the mega-chain seat down restaurant will be much cheaper and most likely taste better. Don't waste your money. They might have been a good restaurant in the past, but something happened and they are no longer as good as they were or what they claim to be. Yeah, I saw the owners lie in their reply about using fresh ingredients. What a joke. Well, I tell it like it is. Also, I forgot to mention that their candy yam is way too sweet, the garlic bread is too salty, too oily, and somehow dry at the same time, which makes no sense! The Mac and cheese balls are not worth the money, and the greens are too salty. These people give creole restaurants and soul food restaurants a bad name.
