I really like the lamb since the soup is a lil sour which is yummy. During lunch time, the hot pot is 1$ cheaper (9.99 instead of 10.99) and it comes with a drinks (green tea,black tea,or soda. No refills). I definitely enjoyed eating here. They also give you stamp cards , so if u eat 10 times, you get one free hot pot. hah. The only gripe i have about this place is i always have to sit inside this cold, fridge-like room. I know everyone eating hot pot can get the temperature rise so they set the thermostat lower to compensate for the heat exchange..But that room tempt is overcompensated and you may get a lil uncomfortably cold. meeeh..still great food though. read more

Their hot pot is more like the Taiwanese style, where you get your own pot with all the ingredients already cooking inside. Something like personalized "clay pot stews". The sauce that you blend yourself is pretty good and we also like getting the add-ons such as vermicelli noodles and intestine. Safer and portions are slightly more. Added a few entrees with larger portions for a price of $16.99. I got the Taiwanese soup base which was super spicy. Two people can share that entree. They have a decent drink menu and added shaved ice, ice cream macaroons for dessert. Give out loyalty cards. Really stepped up their game! read more

It was really good. I'll be honest. The Curry Fishball hotpot is really yummy and the price sure beats Shabu Shabu at $10.99 vs $20.00. However, the ingredients are of low quality... Let's just say cheap hotpot isn't worth it when you have to wait almost an hour to get a table, terrible service, and your bowels suffer in the end. My gf took me here last night for the first time & I loved it! I got the beef soup & it was filled w/lots of goodies. The sauces are also delicious & the broth is flavored perfectly. We ended our mean with their strawberry macaroon ice cream, for $2.50, definitely worth getting at the end. If you're a shabu shabu lover, I definitely recommend boiling point. One of those places where you eat once and only once. I had high expectations for waiting an hour for a table for 2 only because my friend wanted to eat here. The prices are expensive and the food can literally be bought at an asian store and made at home for half the cost: Ramen noodles, thin sliced beef, veggies. Like the yelper stated before me, there is really nothing cooler than the boiling pots and the food presentation. -1. I chose the spicy miso soup and added ramen style noodles, along with my vermicelli and rice. Small portions and of course they charged me for the noodle add-on. We came on a busy night and it took forever to flag our waiter down for more refills. -1. Speaking of burners, thats one thing I will never understand about this place. I saw people literally eat from their boiling pot without flinching. Slurping their noodles and chewing their meat like nothing while their pots steamed and bubbled. I scalded my tongue and throat a couple times trying to eat like everyone else. I finally got one of the staff to turn off my burner so my food could get cold. At this point I was VERY hungry and just ate it cold. I didn't care anymore. I made sure to eat everything, and guess what came next: the bill. We spent more than $30 here! Ridiculous. I always get the curry fish ball second spiciest. You also get to pick rice or vermicelli on the side. A lot of the soups already come with vermicelli. Their teas are good, and you can always ask for less sweetened tea. I feel like their lunch deal is really good. There's almost always a wait for lunch and dinner. I don't like how they frequently mispredict the wait time, especially if the wait is long. On many occasions, a 20 minute wait turns into a 40+ minute one. Boiling point is always so on point ! Be aware of the time that you come though because it's always so crowded and you will have to wait for a while. We once tried going ten minutes before they opened to be seated first but many people were thinking the same thing. We did make it in for the first round of tables but we still had to wait some time. I also suggest coming for lunch instead of dinner because I think the value of it is more worth it for lunch and you get a free tea with your meal! I order the mild beef hot pot and add a side of the ramen noodles. It comes with a variety of beef, fish balls, vegetables, mushrooms and thin noodles. It's literally everything you could want in one pot and the broth is so delicious! I ask for mild because I don't do so well with spice. I usually get the Beef Hot Pot, Mild-Medium. I would LIKE to eat the Taiwanese ones, as it includes ramen, and the filled fish balls, but Taiwanese is WAY too hot spicy for me (it only comes in one spicy level). If you do get Taiwanese, you can wash down the spice with their Hakkaido Milk tea. - No Fuzhou Fish Balls, and no substitutions for them. I wanted the Fuzhou Fish Ball, but they're only available in the Taiwanese. Well, some of us can't eat super crazy spicy, so I asked them if I could substitute, or just charge me extra as a side. Of course, their reply was that they can't do that. I don't understand what's so difficult about that. -The wait can sometimes be long, if you go on the weekend or during dinner on Fridays. I have concluded that I still love Boiling Point and will always love Boiling Point. The Korean Bean Paste is the one I go for all the time. This location is very attentive and doesn't let you run out of water. Which says a lot, because simple things like water can be looked past. I feel like the dinner prices here a bit pricey because, they give the same portion during lunch, but it's all for profit in the end. I would still come here to hotpot every now and then. I always get full from eating here and always leave satisfied. Although, I do miss the ice cream macarons that they used to have. The desserts now are just okay, nothing really special. I would rather stop by a boba place and get some dessert there. I do want to try the Hokkaido milk tea though, maybe next time. Don't get me wrong, but I love boiling point. I've been to the monterey park and arcadia locations well over 10 times. But, this weekend's visit to the Irvine location was very disappointing. I had an order of the beef hot pot. When the order came, the soup didn't taste like it had any flavor. It literally tasted like hot water! We had a table for 7, when I requested water for all of us, they only gave us 4 cups. Also, the button on the wall doesn't seem to work because everytime we pressed it, the waiters wouldn't come. I've probably been to this place 50 times. It is THE spot for hot pot--possibly the best hot pot in Irvine/Orange County. I love their Beef Hot Pot and the Japanese Miso Hot Pot. Both are delicious! They also have the best savory dipping sauces ever. The sauce is pretty much 40% of the reason why I come back. They also have high quality boba. That's impressive for a restaurant that mainly serves food. I ALWAYS get the Old Time Delight Milk Tea. They give you stamp cards for Boba and hot pot as well! It can get crowded/busy during lunch and dinner hours, but it's because it's so great. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the wait time. "Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" pretty much sums it up. My hubby and I came to a wait that was 50 minutes long. Given that literally everything else in the area was closed, we decided to waited it out. Their main menu doesn't have many options, but the drink menu is pretty extensive. Once seated we ordered the Thai and miso hot pot. Being our first time, we both thought it was just ok, nothing spectacular. I must say though that their Hokkaido milk tea was probably the best part of the meal. The service was also a plus, they were super nice and attentive. All in all, I'd need to try this place again (without the long wait of course) to have a more detailed review. This is actually my second time here but I declined to write a review because it wad such a bad time, so I am back for round two. Wait time is about 25 to 30 minutes. Parking is crowded but we find a spot fairly quickly. After sitting down, it took about 20 minutes for a server to get our order. She us nice but looks like she wants to rush us . One my largest problems is the ambience here. Everything feels so rushed, impersonal and corporate like. I really can't stand eating with a different table less than a foot from me on both sides. Also, what are up with these styrofoam cups? On to the food. House Special 11.99. The broth smells and tastes like stinky tofu. Warning for those who have yet to try it, many people can't stand it. It has a distinctive smell but is very tasty if you like it :). The broth is flavored and a bit salty but not bad. Seafood and Tofu. 11.99 I don't understand why their is sliced pork in this fish. The broth was a bit bland but the amount of items inside made it a but better. They do skimp a bit if you get noodles. My girlfriend rated it a 3 and she is a hardcore seafood hot pot person . Thai Flavor Hot Soup. 15.99 This pot is a bit bigger than the others. The Thai soup us loaded with enoki, crab legs, crabs, cabbage, sliced pork, and fishballs. We added an order of tofu and quail eggs! The Thai flavor here is more similar to spicy Taiwanese. It lacks the tart flavor in most Thai soups. I don't know if it is worth the price but it got me filled up. Hokkaido Milk Tea with Boba Pudding 3.65 This was hands down the star of the night. This green tea based milk tea is heavenly with the perfect amount of sweetness. I am not even a milk tea kind if guy but I enjoyed the complexity if the milk tea. Almost like a hint if white chocolate or something in there. Overall the place is a solid place to eat! A lot of different variety in add ons and selection. Although I prefer the soup bases and ambience at other hot point joints, this place is a go to spot for many people wanting hot pot. I can't believe I have yet to write a review for one of my favorite places to frequent. I love hot pot so much that I'm here even when it's 100 degrees out. That's how addicted I am. Who cares if you're sweating a storm...at least you're eating some good food. No matter what time of the day it is or how hot the weather is, this place is pretty busy. It's best to go at non-peak hours. I've tried most of the hot pots they offer, but I prefer the beef one. Please don't ever go out of business. Pleasantly surprised at the service here. Despite the number of customers, servers are still very attentive to your needs and try to get to you at a moments notice. An atmosphere that I havent been around in a couple years, since i last returned to my homeland of taiwan, it was very interesting to find the good old ultra spicy hotpot. Food was very good, but i made the mistake of getting the hottest pot while my spiciness tolerance was down and didnt really get to enjoy the flavors. The ingredients in the pot were great. Pork intestines perfectly chewy and flavorful, vegetables just right and soaked in the spicy sauce. Honestly, outside of that, i cant remember much save the constant need for water and shoveling rice in my mouth. Im here again the next day and i am nowhere near disappointed. Seating took a minute but we were sat right away. Lunch is definitely the time to come here. You get a green or black tea with your hotpot and not to mention, lunch is cheaper! I have been to this location a couple of times, in fact I would say that I visited this location quite often (at least around 3-4 times a month). I like the food and I usually have no problem with their service, but I was truly disappointed when I went on Tuesday of last week. It shows that the location closes at 11pm, so at 10.15pm, I called to ask what time the last order is. When I called, a lady said the last order was at 10.45pm. I arrived with a friend at 10.40pm and the host was seating a group of 5 that was there before us. When she came back to the counter, I expected to be greeted, but she ignored us and took care of her own things behind the counter. After a few minutes, she went in to the cashier and talked to some of her coworkers. When she came back to the counter for the second time, she continued to ignore us and then went back to talk to her coworker. Finally, when she came back for the third time, she grabbed two menus while looking very irritated and whispered to my friend "this way please" without looking us at our faces and she even looked very annoyed. In fact, I could not even hear when she said "this way please". She did not even ask how many was in our party and just guessed that it would be just the two of us. If she was annoyed that we came in almost close to the closing time, then she should not have said the last order was at 10.45pm. The host's attitude was a huge disappointment. I gave it 3 stars only because I really like the food. I would have given it 1 star if it was based only on the service. read more

We also never have a single customer service problem, until today. Aaron L. is asian, tall, no hair on his head. Off the bat, after taking everyone order, he turned to me and asked me "are you going to eat?" What kind of question is that? I thought it was strange but I just brush it off. Half way through, we asked him to light our fire. He was having a difficult time. My little sister asked him if she could order a drink, and he yelled at her "I said give me a second," as he still tried to light the fire. He took our pot to another table to continue to light, and slammed it on our table when he got back, spilling some soup. My little sister asked him if she could order garlic pork belly, and he snapped back at "no more garlic pork belly." We went to tell the manager. Tip for BP, my family and I are very patient people.
