We loved Ever After at the old location. I guess they merged and they decided to use the Class 302 name. The menu is mostly the same with some additions. One of my favorites was the healthy purple fried rice dishes. Ordered the pineapple one. I think whoever is making it now is a little heavy handed on the curry powder. It was overwhelming. The hock noodle soup was really really good. The broth had such depth and flavor. It tastes like a heart home cooked noodle soup. Their popcorn chicken uses white meat, soy oh can expect it to be on the dry side. The spicy shrimp and pork wontons were surprisingly good. The pork was soft and there was a whole shrimp inside. I really liked the spicy oil they use, it has a nutty tone to it. Finally, the mango carriage dessert. This is still consistently the best shaved ice! The portion is still huge. And I like that they did not skimp on the panda cotta swirls between the layers of the mango shaved ice. read more

Went to dine in today. Before we finished eating, I've placed an order for Togo. Paid, boxed up the dine in food, went to the restroom and left. Totally forgot about my Togo order and no one came around the entire time after we have paid to drop off the order. I didn't remember until I got home (I live over an hour away). Tried calling the store number, no one picked up and in the call, they said to call a different number & person for assistance. So I followed directions and called, no one picked up, and their message was for a different business...so I texted the number as it mentioned in the voice memo...no one reaching back. So I went to their website, there was no way to contact them... I don't mind the call this number, look for that person...but running around in circles and not able to get through is the part that is making me somewhat irritated. I hope someone from Class 302 can reach back out to me. Not sure if anyone else had this type of experience and how did they even get resolution without being able to reach anyone? read more

This place is known for their teas and desserts, so I was surprised by how much food they had. We tried the Pork Belly Bun, Taiwanese Beef Yakisoba, Pork Chop Noodle Soup, and Miso Salmon. The Pork Chop Noodle Soup was easily my favorite with a flavorful savory broth and crispy pork chop. For my drink, I got the Watermelon Juice with Strawberry Boba, which was refreshing and had the right amount of sweetness. We finished with the massive Summer Farm Snow Cake, loaded with milk snow, fresh fruit, blueberry jam, and condensed milk. Definitely a shareable dessert! TL;DR: come for big portions of delicious Taiwanese food, don't eat in. Cute, medium-sized Taiwanese cafe with a variety of street and comfort foods. It is half gimmicky boba shop and half sit-down-and-eat restaurant; we only tried the latter. I'll preface by saying they seem understaffed, and it doesn't seem like their wait staff was given a lot to work with. It reads like a restaurant that's supposed to be counter order and self-seating, but has table service shoehorned in. You're going to have to assert yourself and ask to be helped. But the one person who helped us was enthusiastic, friendly, and patient. If you're craving Taiwanese food this is a very, very solid option. My favorite food in the world is popcorn chicken, and theirs is juicy, crispy, and satisfying. I had the popcorn chicken bowl and was surprised that it was served on top of a bowl of braised pork rice. The result was a homey, sweet, fatty bowl of love with some tangy sweet cucumbers to balance. Next time I'll ask for extra basil. My Taiwanese husband had the beef yakisoba, and he tells me it's nostalgic of the food he grew up eating in Songshan. I thought it could use a bit of salt. We rounded it off with bacon cabbage, which was wonderfully smoky and slightly sweet, and umami "wasabi" fries, which despite being just fries with takoyaki sauce, mayo, and bonito, hit the spot after a stressful work week. And it went down with a *huge* bottle of cold Taiwan beer. With massive portions of tasty food at pretty decent prices, this satisfies a craving we have a hard time fulfilling, and will definitely be back. Come in and leave a tip to support the wait staff; but for convenience, we'd suggest ordering takeout ahead and eating it in the mini park outside. A fun place to take the kids for boba drinks after meal at nearby Panda Express. There are two tablets located on the order counter for you to place drink orders (and food order) for take-outs. If you plan to dine-in, they will direct you to a table so you don't need to order at the counter. The popcorn chicken is a yummy treat and a good portion size. Stinky tofu was ok, not great, and the pork chop is a bit small. Kids enjoyed the self-serve drink. After you pay for the drink, the staff assists you with toppings selection and then gives you the cup so you can top it off with the drink(s) of your choice. You can ask for samples of the toppings with the staff and also ask for a sample cup to try the drinks. My kids think it's more fun than Yogurtland. :) Once the cup is filled with drink(s), then you carefully bring it back to the counter and staff will seal the top with the automated boba drink machine. This Class 302 location in Irvine is still here after 10+ years!!!!! (I surely do miss the OG Rowland Heights one RIP.) After a recent visit, they got an upgrade. The self-serve boba is still there. The food here is great and I love the self serve drinks. The only reason why I gave this place a four was because you cannot adjust the sugar level for any of the drinks. The popcorn chicken is delicious and there's one drink that reminds me of a drink I use to get when Orobae was around. The drink at Class 302 that is my fave is the Phoenix oolong milk tea. Ever After closed down and combined its menu to this class 302 location. I was excited to see the Ever After menu items here since I frequently went to them, so was interested to see how this compares. I got the Black sesame chicken fried rice which tasted really good! It was on the oily side though because of the sesame oil so I'll probably try their other options next time. I also got the popcorn chicken rice which came with the braised pork sauce (which I got on the side). Flavor was great, chicken was nice and juicy with a thin layer of breading. Service was great too, we got served rather quickly and food came out promptly as well. Their drink selection is still the self serve, and you can still ask for sample cups to try. I believe they also brought some drinks from Ever After to here as I didn't see them before. I'm excited to come back again and try their other menu items. This place is a self serve boba setup, which can be a little confusing the first time. While I was there in line to order at the kiosk, a couple of people even asked me how to order. You place your order at the self kiosk, then pick up your cup from a staff member. They'll ask what toppings you want, and from there you move to the self-serve drink station to pour your tea. After that, you go back to get the lid sealed. If you order food as well, you'll need to wait at the food pickup area after finishing your drink. We didn't sit down to eat, but I noticed a couple parties were dining in, and everything looked good. I'm especially interested in coming back to try their beef noodle soup. We usually go to Woodbridge Cha for tea when we're craving boba and chicken, but this spot is a solid alternative if you're nearby and want something quick and casual. read more

We always make an effort to support our local businesses, which makes it especially disappointing to share that we had a very poor customer service experience and will NOT be returning. We arrived around 6:30 PM on Saturday (7/25) and were instructed by the hostess (Asian young lady) to join the waitlist, where we were listed as party #1. Shortly after, a party of five arrived and was listed as #2. After about 10 minutes, multiple tables were cleared. However, the hostess permitted party #2 to bypass the waitlist and be seated ahead of us after a member (the mother) of their party approached the hostess. When I inquired why the queue sequence was not being followed, the hostess unhelpfully claimed we had arrived at the same time, completely disregarding the fact that she had explicitly numbered us sequentially on the list. To make matters worse, that same party then took a chair from our newly assigned table without asking. Frustrated by the clear lack of organization and fair treatment, we decided to leave. *** Management Note: Please implement proper training for your front-of-house staff. If customers are required to use a waitlist, it MUST be honored sequentially. Allowing guests to cut the line sets a poor business standard and ruins the customer experience. read more

Class 302 had some kind of upgrade. The food quality is better than the past few years. Our go-to orders are the Chinese sausage with garlic (fair warning- your breath will smell the rest of the day), braised pork, popcorn chicken, pork cutlet, and chicken soup (this is comforting when you're feeling ill). However, when we looked at the menu this time, a large portion of their dishes had been removed. The spicy miso udon soup, which is one of the main reasons I come here, is no longer available. I wasn't expecting half the menu to be gone after the renovations. The service was great. The workers were kind and attentive whenever we needed to order or asked for boxes. We also ordered a soup, though I'm not sure what it was called, and it wasn't very good. The noodles had a gelatin-like texture and the broth lacked flavor, which was definitely not what we were expecting. I ordered the calamari and pork dumplings. The calamari is still top tier as always, while the dumplings were just okay. The natural, homey aesthetic is gone after their remodel and now it looks like any typical boba cafe. However, drinks are still the same which is nice. You pay for the cup, choose toppings that they add for you, then self serve fill your own cup and give it back to them to seal. Protip: the teas with sugar are VERY sweet so mix your choice with some unsweetened for a better balance. Class 302 in Irvine never disappoints. I ordered a winter melon milk tea with a the popcorn chicken (medium spicy) along with the 302 basil fried rice. I got to say that everything was packed with flavor and the popcorn chicken came with a side of spice where you can adjust it yourself. Chicken also had the right amount of crispiness. Service was friendly and efficient, which made the experience even better. They also recently remodeled and the ambiance is way better than before. Much cleaner, more modern, and more comfortable to hang out in. One of my favorite parts is the drink setup. Boba is self serve. The store is located in the corner of. You have to buy your cup first, then they add your toppings inside then you go add your drink. I wish they didn't add the toppings first and just gave me the cup because I didn't know which drink go get. I would put a little in my cup to taste but after a few tastes they were all just mixed together. I didn't know what I ended up with. Class 302 has always been just been an "Okay" place. I do enjoy taking my children here and the concept of self serve is cool. I haven't tried their food menu items yet so looking forward to that. We went on a Sunday and it was busy and no inside seating. The vibe is a bit chaotic so if you like quiet places/ are an introverted person you may not like ordering here. Drinks are less sweet by default now (a big plus!) and they give you sweeteners on the side if you want to adjust. Love the changes since the days of jumbo cup sizes. Every cup is a flat $7, which makes ordering easy. Food-wise, the popcorn chicken is solid. Crispy with not too much breading, tasty with or without sauce.
