Tigawok totally gave me upscale Panda Express vibes, but like... better. The BEST part though? The free pickled radishes. Why were they so good omg. I was lowkey obsessed and could've just kept snacking on those. My fave dishes were definitely the Hong Kong fried rice, orange peel chicken, and basil chicken. Those were the stars for me. The other dishes we tried were decent, just not as memorable. Prices felt pretty reasonable for how much food you get, so honestly a good bang for your buck kinda spot. I appreciated the little to-go lids since the portions are generous enough that leftovers are very possible.

Nice place! Everything is clean and it was easy to order entrees. The staff are friendly and energetic. The orange chicken was okay but the meat was dry inside the breading. I liked the crispiness and taste of the outer coating on the chicken. I also ordered chow mein and it was good. It tasted similar to Panda Express and it wasn't overly greasy. Overall decent food for a quick meal when craving Americanized Chinese food.

Absolutely amazing experience with Tigawok! I ordered through DoorDash and honestly can't say enough good things about this place. From the packaging, to the color of the utensils, to the presentation and flavor of the food -- everything felt so well thought out. Even the bag the food came in gave such a fun and quality vibe. I also loved how every container was individually labeled with my name and exactly what each item was. It made everything feel so organized, personalized, and professional. I ordered the Orange Peel Chicken, Hong Kong Sausage Fried Rice, Tiga Mapo Tofu, and Chow Mein, and every single item was delicious. The portions are perfect -- not too little and not overly huge either. I'd say it's ideal for one person, or perfect to order multiple smaller dishes to share between 2-3 people. My only minor issue was that the food arrived a little cold by the time it got delivered, but honestly everything still tasted amazing and fresh. Besides that, I'll definitely be ordering again!

3 Appetizer Plate with Base ($13)

Great place for quick, tasty Chinese food made by robots. I love how they change up the menu so you can always come back to try different things. I've been to a few Tigawok's and I would say getting a majority of their small plates with $2 rice is a better deal than the 3 appetizer with base at $13. I felt like they gave me more mains when I did that and I had more leftovers for the cost being just a little more...unless the worker just gave me smaller portions bc I'm a girl with the 3 appetizer lol. Regardless, taste is delicious! My favorites when they have it are: Cola Chicken, Spicy Chicken Basil (comes with string beans), and their pork belly (comes with potatoes). Great casual dining of Chinese food ala Carte when you're on the go and want to try many small options. Although I do think Chinese restaurants if you just want one main they give you more meats for cheaper price.

There's plenty of parking available. Inside, there are a few tables if you want to dine in, but seating is limited. The ordering process is simple, you choose a base and then add any sides you want. After paying, there's a small station at the end where you can grab utensils and sauces. I ordered the Wagyu Beef & Minced Pork Rice Bowl as my base, along with a side of Red Braised Pork Belly with Potato. The portion size was decently sized and reasonably priced. The pork bowl was really good, but the pork belly was just okay as the meat was a bit dry. Overall, I'd come back to try their other dishes. Recommendation(s): - Wagyu Beef & Minced Pork Rice Bowl Service: 5/5 Tip(s): - Plenty of parking spaces - Limited indoor seating - Accept Apple Pay

2 entree bowl: noodles, eggplant/green beans, and basil chicken. Outstanding!!

Tigawok has better food than all the Chinese restaurants I've tried around my house in Laguna Niguel and yes I'm comparing them with standalone restaurants not fast food. I got the 2 entree bowl for $10.99. The chow mein is full of veggies which I absolutely love and the noodles have a good bite to them. The basil chicken is very flavorful and has the perfect amount of heat. The eggplant-green beans is outstanding, perfect balance of crunchy beans and soft perfectly cooked eggplants. I can eat this every day. I wish the food was a little less salty and oily but still one of my favorite Chinese foods in OC. I love the food packaging and the ambiance is clean and casual. Highly recommended!

3 item plate (cola chicken, wagyu beef, tomato and egg) over chinese sausage fried rice, pork dumpling (xiao long bao), beef curry
    Jon C.

Great concept. It's basically an authentic Chinese (specifically more Cantonese or Hong Kong pallette) food version of Panda Express. You can also get samples. As you enter, you'll grab and tray and go down the food line where you can either get an a la carte bowl for an entree by itself or a 2 or 3 plate combination. I particularly enjoyed the chinese sausage (lahp cheung) fried rice option as a base (which has a small upcharge). The cola chicken and wagyu beef were flavorful but I wished the pieces of meat were a little bigger. It's diced pretty small so you may want to use a spoon to eat it. The tomato and scrambled egg was good, maybe a little on the sweet side. I wished that had more beef options other than the wagyu beef, curry beef and hunan spicy beef. The curry flavor is pretty good (goes well with steamed rice) but the meat's not as tender as I would've liked. The steamed pork dumplings (xiao long bao) weren't bad...just don't expect DTF here. They have a self-service condiment bar that has soy sauce/vinegar and small cubes of white radish at the entrance. The self-service drink area is towards the back and has sweetened and unsweetened oolong tea. They also provide lids and bags near the drink station for all of your bowls and plates in case you need to take your left overs home. All in all, a great place to pick up food for lunch or dinner if you're looking for a fast and cheaper Chinese food option.

I love all the options this place has. Orange chicken, mapo tofu, and tiga curry are my favorites. I highly recommend coming here and trying it out!

    Chicken basil mini bowl
    Amy B.

The mini bowls here at Tigawok offer a sufficient amount of protein at an amazing price point (like $6) and the quality is pretty great too!! The chicken basil mini bowl was actually a bit spicy and I couldn't finish it due to the heat accumulating in my mouth with each bite. The staff were really nice and the vibe was pretty smooth and efficient. I'd definitely add Tigawok to my shortlist of affordable protein spots in or near Irvine!!

I heard about TIGA WOK and it looks okay so we gave this a try. Upon entering the restaurant, the appearance looks like a typical Panda express, how you see or order your food but with a much more appealing look and better food. We ordered a few of them like the WAGYU MAPO TOFU, RED BRAISED BEEF & MINCE PORK & rice bowl, and VEGETABLES If you want your food for to go after they have a section for you to get your own box, bag, utensils etc , my wife said their To-Go containers cute. Foods are okay, plenty of choices to choose from. They have plenty of staffs and all move fast. Plenty of parking around.

    Braised pork belly
    Liz B.

While it's a unique concept and they have pretty affordable small plates, the food lacked flavor. Tigawok has a cafeteria style ordering process where you can mix and match based and small entrees. I liked the customization aspect, however the dishes I tried were a little disappointing. The mapo tofu lacked spice and a depth of flavor, and the Wagyu pork base was too sweet for my liking. I'd be open to trying new dishes, but I definitely would not reorder the ones I had. One thing I did like is that the food is constantly being made and fresh, one of the items I ordered was running out, so they gave me a buzzer and told me to come back in 5 minutes when the new batch was done. They also had a great reusable to go boxes and bags.

    William M.

Been here a couple of times and forgot about the review. Stopped by during their soft opening and they were out of certain items and the lines were longer. Now that they have some time to work out the kinks, things are running smooth and most items are available. With that said, that plaza is busy no matter what time of day you go. Parking can be a pain in the butt. They have a lot of different entrees to select from. I usually get a few and it'll last me 2 or 3 meals. My favorites are the orange peel chicken, the wagyu curry (has nice bit chunks of potato's and carrots and the beef is tender), the toga cola chicken is not bad, and the Wagyu mapo tofu. For the vegetables, I normally get the garlic eggplant and green beans (it has more eggplant than green beans and I'm not a eggplant fan, but its not too bad) and the other dish is the dry pot Brussels sprouts. It's relatively cheap for each dish, about $5-$7 each. It's more authentic than that other Chinese chain with the bear. Ive been back a few times now.

Tigawok is a solid quick grab and go spot in Irvine, conveniently located next to Trader Joe's. Service is fast and efficient, making it easy to stop by when you need something quick. I like that you can choose between individual entrée bowls or a plate depending on how hungry you are. Overall, I'd say it's a better alternative to Panda Express!

The scallion pancakes were very layered, probably one of the best looking ones we've ordered. The beef rolls were also one of the nicest presentations I've seen. They were perfectly wrapped and not a single green onions or cilantro fell off. Service was excellent. Granted there was only one wait staff but he was very attentive and observant. I saw a black dot on my plate, he immediately went to get a new plate for me without me asking. He constantly came to check on us and add more water. Overall, it was OK. Bottom Line Up Front: If you love mala (the numbing and…read morespicy seasoning derived from Sichuan peppercorn and chili peppers), Six Alley will deliver the heat! The Food: As its name denotes, Six Alley Xi'an Biang Biang Noodle specializes in noodles, which is handcrafted in house. Ironically enough, I decided to have one of their burgers instead because that's such an unusual option. Though, I can attest that the noodles are delicious after having a taste of my friend's noodles. Now, back to my burger. I ordered the Cumin Beef RoujiaMo, which is stir-fried beef mixed with cumin and chilies and served on a crispy flatbread. It's listed on the menu under Asian burgers, which is actually inaccurate. After all, there's no lettuce, tomato, mayo, or any condiments that one would come to expect from a burger. It's more accurate to call it a "Chinese sandwich," which would help set the right expectations. Semantics aside, the Cumin Beef RoujiaMo was tasty. The meat was tender and the flatbread was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I quite enjoyed it. Just note, it is spicy! I asked the server how spicy and she said, "Mild." That's "Asian chili-lover mild," folks, not western mild. By American standards, it's more of a medium spice level. The Location: It's located in a small strip mall off MacArthur Boulevard near the 55 Freeway. It's not difficult to find, but it is difficult to find parking -- especially during peak hours on the weekend. To make matters worse, the parking stalls themselves are narrow. If you normally drive a large truck or a wide SUV, consider taking a sedan or smaller vehicle if you have one. The Service: For an Asian establishment, the customer service was surprisingly solid. I say this as an Asian myself; old-school Chinese restaurants are known for having employees with non-existent customer service. But this crew was young and understood that being friendly was essential for western restaurants. The staff didn't check up on us or offer exceptional service, but they were accommodating and knowledgeable when whenever I flagged them down. The Setting: Even though it's a smallish-medium restaurant, there's a decent amount of tables to accommodate a decent number of people at one time. It's clean and nicely decorated. However, the bathroom was another story. Sure, it had soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, but the back of the faucet was coming apart due to corrosion and it looked like the toilet bowl hadn't been scrubbed in months. Overall, a shocking sight considering how tidy the dining area was. The Conclusion: If you love spicy Chinese food, you'll love Six Alley. While I don't, the dish I had and the customer service was good enough for me to want to go back and try some of the other dishes. It was an enjoyable experience overall.

It was a weekend only item and I tried that. The noodles came separate from the soup. Over all it was very tasty. The meat was a bit fatty and the soup had tendons too. I took that part home and my wife loved it. I tend to avoid the fatty meat and tendons are not good to me. 10 of us so some of the appetizers got passed around. The smashed cucumbers are excellent, and my buddy also got some friend potatoes of sorts, reminded me of a fat French fry. In the end he had lot of food to explore. One thing that caught my eye was several couples there and sharing a large soup item served with a tray of various food items for the soup. Kind of a date night visual and something that looked very interesting. Several couples around us had that same dish and its got me more curious. Might have to come back with my wife and try this one.

I decided to give this place a try because I heard their noodles were very authentic, and as…read moresomeone who loves noodles, I was excited to try it. I ordered their most popular dish, the A1 set, but honestly, it didn't really live up to the hype for me. The broth tasted pretty underseasoned overall. From what I understood, you're supposed to mix all the toppings into the soup with the noodles, but even after doing that, I still felt like the flavor was lacking. Yes, they provide seasoning on the side, but personally, I wish the broth already had enough flavor on its own without needing to adjust it myself. Would I come back? Probably not. Nothing really stood out to me enough to return, and it felt more like a one-time experience. Overall, everything was just okay.

They have a beautifully simple menu that covers a great variety of dishes, ranging from dim sum to various noodle and rice options. The Beef Chow Fun was excellent. It had that classic, smoky wok hei flavor I was looking for. Highly recommend if you love chow fun. My friend ordered, The Capital Street Noodle, a dry noodle dish. It packed a ton of good flavor and came with a very generous amount of toppings. The Salt and Pepper Fried Fish was lovely. The batter was wonderfully light, and I really enjoyed the distinct peppery punch it had. Overall, everything we tried was hit. It's a solid, clean spot with great execution on classic flavors. I would totally come back here again whenever I'm looking for a quick bite!

Aside from that, the texture and flavor were decent, but this kind of oversight really kills the appetite and raises concerns about quality control in the kitchen. For the price and reputation, I expected better attention to detail. I'd recommend double-checking your food before eating if you order shrimp here. Hoping they improve their prep standards because this shouldn't happen.
