I order here pretty often, and while there have been a few recent mix-ups, I really respect when a business takes the time to communicate clearly and resolve things respectfully. The prices between the two are very similar, though Boiling Point runs just slightly higher. That said, the portion size at Boiling Point is noticeably larger, so you do get more for what you pay. I ordered the Taiwanese Spicy Hot Soup with the default spice level (Flaming). The broth was definitely spicy, but it had a lot more depth and flavor than I expected. It leaned a little on the sweeter side, which balanced the heat nicely. Compared to Tasty Pot, which I find to be spicier overall, Boiling Point's broth feels more layered and flavorful. Tasty Pot brings strong heat, but sometimes it's just spicy without as much complexity behind it. It's honestly hard to pick a clear winner purely from a flavor standpoint, but I do think I slightly prefer Boiling Point overall. As for the complimentary drinks, the green tea tasted a bit watered down, while the wintermelon tea was quite sweet. My hot pot was a generous portion that I ended up having it for both dinner and leftovers later. This boiling point location needs to be retrained.  We arrived at 7:45 pm on a Sunday and parked within the lot.  We placed our names on the list and noticed several open tables that were not occupied.  To pass the time, we went to the nearby 99 Ranch to shop.  We finished shopping, placed our items in our cars, and returned to the restaurant, where we saw very little movement in the line.  Tables were STILL unoccupied while the staff was waiting around.  Time inched by as we watched tables pay the bill, leave, and remain unoccupied.  Most restaurants would fill large tables as they appeared; however, their philosophy was to seat parties of 2 on a 4-top table or parties of 4 on two 2-top tables, and work their way down the list (not taking efficiency into account at all).  By this time, my hunger had subsided, and I was just astounded by how the workers worked at this location.  I saw a worker spray cleaning solution on a table that just sat down WHILE they were seated (I can't say I would leave a very big tip if somebody sprayed me with disinfecting cleaner... and shouldn't this have been done before they sat down??). When we finally got seated (at around 9:00 pm), we placed our orders, and our food began to trickle out.  When our hotpots came out, we were not given utensils or sauce bowls, and one of the sauces was basically empty.  I had to call multiple servers before utensils, sauce bowls, and a sauce refill were delivered to our table. read more

We were wondering why we couldn't sit there. Later, they let people sit at those tables. Note: I went when it was cash only, so definitely bring some cash just in case. The food is delicious, but I wish there were a way to control the flame. It was windy, and I was seated near the door. My pot came slowly overflowing, and the soup sometimes burned me. My all time favorite place for Taiwanese hot pot! Super consistent no matter the location and I usually always finish my bowl no matter how full I am because it's THAT good. I usually get house special flaming spicy, and the other order was beef flaming spicy. Since it was lunch time, we also got our choice between green and wintermelon tea. (Wintermelon has my heart). Since I wasn't starving, I opted for the vermicelli as the carb rather than the rice. Special mention to the sauces!! It is not a BP meal without the sauce. I love a mixture of the chili oil and bean paste to dip the meat and veggies in for the perfect bite. It was clean inside and servers were attentive (there were only about 4 other parties at the time). The only complaint is that it gets quite cold when someone opens the door, as we were at a table right next to the entrance. Prices have gone up kind of significantly in the past couple of years; a bowl can cost you up to $25. But still worth it because I love them. We came on a Tuesday around 7 PM and were able to be seated right away. Parking was easy to find at this time. There are QR codes at each table that you can scan to view their menu. I got the Milk Cream Curry ($22) and he got the House Special ($22). We also got a Spicy Cumin Lamb appetizer ($7.50). Despite my bad experiences before, I really enjoyed the Milk Cream Curry combo. The flavor was good and the mild spice level was spicy enough but not excessively spicy. The Spicy Cumin Lamb was also really good and the flavor resembled that of Chinese style skewers. They're both super good in their own way. The milk curry has a creamier flavor that gives a break from the spice. But as a spice lover I do choose the taiwanese spicy.
