My review as a white guy with my Asian friends. This place was recommended by one of our friends for having a wide variety or fish soups and other unique dishes. It's not a huge space, so calling ahead for large groups is recommended. We were a group of 8. We had our friend order everything. Food: Beef soup. This was one of the tastier soups. Also rated as top 3. Lemongrass chicken stir fry. Very tasty flavors with some spice, but the bones, limited chicken, and extra salty/oily flavors hurt the full potential for me. This is their #2 dish. Yellow base fish soup. Good flavors and decent amount of fish but a bit oily. French fries. Like McDonald's but extra saltyyyy. Lotus flower dish. I enjoyed this a lots. A good mix of veggies and peppers too. Spicy chicken. Very tasty flavors but oily. Dripping. Make sure you get rice. Overall, the food was good, but a little too much salt and oil was the collective view from our table. There could've been more chicken meat as well. Luckily, the service was quick with food dishes coming out without a long wait.

Squid - my table's favorite protein

tl;dr Casual spot with delicious and huge portions for sharing! Though be careful of the chicken one, it was full of bony parts so we had to take our time eating it and would probably avoid next time. The protein dishes are all the same preparation/flavor so no need to get multiple unless you want to. My table of 4 enjoyed a fish soup and 3 of the protein options, squid, chicken, and pork. I'd rank the dishes in order of deliciousness and ease of eating as the fish soup, squid, pork, then chicken. The fish soup had a good amount of Szechuan numbing spice (as do basically all the dishes), which added a delightful kick to it. Depending on the size of the soup, you can add up to 4 add ons included in the price. Great taste and great deal! It served 4 easily. There is also unlimited rice to eat with your soups and proteins, enjoy! Free drink from the fridge if you pay in cash.

The food looks so good that I had to come in and give it a try. The choices though... are all too spicy for my family to try. Therefore, it's limited in flavor - everything is all numbing from the peppercorn. Would I try again? Maybe - each dishes are family style size - so I would only go if I can bring my family to share if they can withstand the numb (not spicy, just numbing)

Portions are huge. One small spicy fish, an appetizer, and two bowls of rice fed two people very well for about $40. A great deal! If you pay cash, you get a free drink.

New place we accidentally stopped at their soft opening all their dishes seemed authentic. The schezwan flavor was on point!

Came here specifically craving sour soup, which is not yet super popular chinese dish. They're well known for their sauerkraut-based sour soup, and it sour enough for my tastes. I think next time I will request it to have numbing spice as then it would be sour and spicy. The tomato soup was ok, not as flavorful as the sour soup but I like tomato soups. Next time I will have to try a custom-made soup made by the chef because apparently, you can request off menu soups using the ingredients that they have.

Loved the concept, the flavor, the service. Didn't love the execution too much. This place specializes in Sichuan style fish, boiled in spicy numbing sauces. There's also a variety of stir fried veggies or meat dishes you can order. While I thought the flavors were really good, I was a little disappointed at how much actual protein came with the dishes. I expected more. For instance the large fish pot wasn't enough for two people. And the chicken stir fry we ordered was mostly bones, very little meat (photo attached)

Unless your little ones can eat spicy, this might be a challenge for young families. Sichuan cooking is an acquired taste. I may not be the best reviewer for this. Food (3.5 stars) + Sichuan pepper fish soup (green) is on the sour side and has the numbing sensation effect that I think is an acquired taste. Their medium order looks huge but it's not that big since the bowl is not deep. Fish was a little fishy. + Chicken in chili oil is generous in portion for a side dish. It looks spicy but it's not as spicy as it looks. - Farmhouse boiling duck has really good flavors but the duck was too bony. It was difficult to eat because of the bones. It's very spicy in a good way. - Cucumbers has too much garlic. And this is coming from someone who loves garlic. Ambiance/Service (4 stars) + I was sweating a storm and I think they were just an earshot away for napkins and more water. + Our group of 6 was seated within 20 minutes although there were many tables for 2 or 4 that were open. + It's a small restaurant with quite a few to go orders I'll be back when my kids are able to spicy. I'll probably skip the duck next time unless the offer boneless option.

Love their pickled black fish soup -- spicy, sour, and absolutely perfect with a bowl of rice. The beef stir‑fry is incredibly tender, and the service is always warm and attentive. The ambiance is casual and relaxed. Plus, if you pay with cash, they even include a free beverage.

Wei's is my go-to and I wanted to compare the two. Wei's packaging feels more premium and the soup has more flavor and less oil. I also felt like Wei's gives a bit more food. On the other hand, Seven Fish is in a more convenient location, has easier parking, and is slightly cheaper. They also offer enoki, which is one of my favorites! Seven Fish's soup is more yellow and there is a layer of oil on top. It has red chilis and peppercorns, but it's barely spicy (which is a plus for me). The takeout was packed very thoughtfully, with an extra saran wrap on the outside to prevent leakage.

Seven Fish Cuisine may be my first experience with Chinese fish soups, but they certainly set the bar high because this place is excellent. We've already been back three times in the matter of a few weeks and if it was closer to our house that number may have been even higher. Their number one - biggest picture on the menu - dish is the Golden Sour and Spicy Fish Soup which is really unlike anything I've had before. It, along with quite a number of dishes on the menu, leans heavily into Sichuan peppercorn so be prepared to have a numb tongue but the overall flavor is excellent, balancing nicely the spice with the tang and the fish is cooked to perfection, free from bones as well which is always a plus. One of the things that really makes the soup a great dish is the customizability. There is a list of 8-10 potential add-ins including things like tofu, wood ear mushrooms, bean curd strips, etc. For a large soup you get to pick four add-ins for free, and for a small soup you get two. They obviously specialize in fish soups, but they have a number of other dishes including beef soups and other stir-fried dry dishes including pork chops and lemongrass chicken, both of which I can vouch for though be prepared to eat around a lot of bones, especially for the lemon pepper chicken which proved challenging given how small the pieces were cut. On top of being delicious, Seven Fish Cuisine is honestly quite a good deal. The large soups are huge and at under $30 a piece, quite reasonably priced for something that serves 2-3 people. We first came here with another family and we were both pleasantly surprised at the value when it came time to split the bill. Far from standing alone, according the signage on the wall Seven Fish is actually part of a multi-national chain of restaurants with over 500 locations in 200 cities around the world. I guess you don't get that big without doing something right and I can certainly see it because this place is great!

    Jia M.

Unfortunately I don't remember what we ordered but it was decent! The pickled veggie fish was not too sour and it was served really hot. I burned my tongue eating it. The bean curd could be cooked for longer as it was a bit hard to chew. I think it needs to be soaked in water for a longer period of time. The beef was spicy but the flavor was good! I just wish it had more beef.

    FYI
    Lloyd C.

Seven Fish Cuisine is a "fairly new" place as it's been open for 11 months. First time for me trying this type of place. The interior is modern with simple decor of their dishes from their menu. No music playing, which is nice because you can carry on a conversation. One unisex restroom only. Fish Oil Soup (with Noodles). The dish didn't match the picture in the menu. Broth was temperture-hot and not spicy at all. It was flavorful. The fish, shrimp, and squid were delicately cooked to perfection. It was a good dish (3.5/5). The service is nice and friendly. Everything was beautifully prepared, tasted fresh, and was a huge hit with our guests. We ordered the Lion King Salmon, Umami Truffle Beef, Pandan Crème Brûlée, and Guava Panna Cotta, and genuinely loved everything. The Lion King Salmon was rich and flavorful, and the Umami Truffle Beef was especially delicious. The truffle flavor came through beautifully without being overwhelming. Both entrées disappeared quickly! The desserts were just as impressive. The Pandan Crème Brûlée was creamy and unique, and the Guava Panna Cotta was light, refreshing, and such a nice finish after a big meal. We had a large party with plenty of food from several places, and D-D Delight was easily one of the standouts of the entire spread. Our guests kept complimenting the food, and I was so happy with our decision to order from them. Final Thoughts: 4.33/5…read more They were our caterer for a work party. This is a food truck and they seem to have everything ready to be served to us. Asian fusion foods are typically my go-to choice and so I was very excited that they were providing us food today. Food: Garlic Fried Chicken Bowl: 4.3/5 The sauce on this is divine with the chicken. It's like an unagi sauce with garlic in it. It has some saltiness, sweetness, and that umami flavor. Garlic taste and scent is present, but not too overpowering, which I really enjoyed. That flavor is great, but some places really overdo it for me. Just a personal preference though. For the chicken itself, it's very tender and juicy on the inside and still has some of that nice crunch on the outside. Perhaps this is because the cut of meat is the chicken thigh. It's not super crispy because I don't believe this is being fried to order for us. Seems to be food held in a warmer until its ordered. Kimchi was the side that they had provided with this dish and I am here for that. Some people aren't the biggest fan of this and I saw that from the looks my coworkers gave it. Personally, very much enjoyed it though. That sourness and spice from the kimchi just balances out this bowl really well. The veggies are nice and crispy. Gives it that freshness. Also, very slight detail and addition, but I always enjoy the sesame seeds and furikake sprinkle as a garnish. There's a nice nuttiness to it that they provide as a simple garnish. Spicy Tuna Poké: 4.0/5 This item was alright. The flavor was also really good, but I did get tired of eating just one type of poke protein. Typically when I go to get poke, it's 2 to 3 scoops of different proteins with various sauces to change up the flavor. I did get tired of this one after a few bites. The flavor of this item was very good though. There's a nice kick from it and the flavor tastes like a mix of kewpie mayo, soy sauce, sriracha, and sugar. Very simple, but you can't go wrong with those flavors. For the side, they added seaweed salad. Again, not your average side dish. Personally, I enjoyed it, but it might not be a common or familiar side dish for other individuals. It has a nice sweetness and nuttiness to it. For texture, there's a nice bite to it, which is ncie since the tuna is very soft and doesn't contribute much to the texture component. Menu: Small Their menu seems quite limited, but again, that is normal for a food truck, I believe. The items they provide do it just fine for me. I appreciate that they also have an option for the vegetarians. The menu we were provided was limited to 4 items, which is fine since the scale of this party wasn't anything too wild and we were able to satisfy everyone with what they provided. --------- Quality: Alright The quality of the food seems OK. It came out within a few minutes for us and I don't think it takes just a few minutes to fry that piece of chicken. I could be wrong though, so no one quote me on that. Just an observation. Not the highest expectations because their limited to the space and area in general. The product they provide is very good though. Overall, for something that has raw seafood in it, it seemed quite fresh and tasty. The items aren't made to order either and it's more assemble and serve to order, but again, they seem to be making it work with the product that they are selling. Price: Estimated Because this was a catering event, I am actually unaware of how much my administrator paid for the food. What I know is that she paid for a certain amount of bowls. From the looks of this item though, I want to estimate the price of each bowl being around $16 to $20 depending on the food item provided. Seems quite average for a bowl of food these days. Service: Quick and fast Because most of the food is already prepared and ready, the interaction with them itself is very limited. They took our order and provided us with the food. Nothing too significant to note and that is to be expected with the food truck. They were very sweet though and explained the menu items to be when I had a question. Ambiance: Simple and cute food truck The design on their food truck is so cute. The riceball is my favorite because it has this very cute face and just looks darling to me. The outside has a simple design with the name and logo on top and then perhaps some of the food items they provide written on the bottom section of the truck. Doesn't seem like anything too fancy, but simplicity is best for me. Location/Parking: Wherever they travel and navigate to Because they're a food truck, they can drive to you, which is really convenient. On Yelp, it states that their located on 36 Commercial Street in downtown, which might be where their truck is serving most of the time. Again, it is a food truck though, so they have the ability to drive to you and travel around to their customers, which is quite convenient is reaching a broader group of people.

The dishes were well-prepared, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented. The overall ambiance was also enjoyable, making it a nice spot for a dinner out. Unfortunately, the experience took a concerning turn at the end of the meal. Our bill came out to $86.42, and I handed my credit card to the waiter. Within seconds (thanks to my card alerts), I received a notification that $103.92 had been charged. When the waiter returned with the receipt, there was no mention of any discrepancy. After waiting a few minutes to see if it would be addressed, I brought it up myself. The waiter appeared flustered and then claimed he had accidentally charged me for someone else's food. That explanation didn't align with the itemized bill I was given, which made the situation feel questionable. He assured me that it would be corrected and that I should see the adjustment in a few days, which I'll be watching closely. Mistakes can happen, but the lack of transparency and the fact that it wasn't proactively disclosed is what left a bad impression. Being overcharged without explanation -- and having to catch it myself -- is not something I expect when dining out. I'd consider coming back for the food, but I'd definitely be more cautious when it comes to the bill.

They had happy hour going on until 9pm(!!!) crazy, I know. The happy hour menu featured a few cocktails, beer, and mocktails for $9, and starters for 20% off. They were also able to substitute the liquors in the happy hour drinks for something else, which was huge for me since I'm not a fan of too many liquors. We of course got the duck pizza, which was super flavorful, and also got an order of the spam musubi. Both were really good and I'd order either again. We were helped by Ashley, who was so great and friendly. She seemed to be the host and server and did a great job balancing everyone and thing.

Originally we had opted to go to a vegetarian restaurant but they stopped selling food at a certain time and we were hungry. We kept walking and stumbled upon Nomikai. We entered around 9pm and was seated immediately. The food closed soon and we got our order in during happy hour. We were impressed. The service was absolutely amazing and staff / patrons enjoyed our fit. The cocktails are beautifully crafted. Delicious yummy! As a cocktail enthusiast I had no complaints just keep them coming! The dude enjoyed his cocktail as well. We didn't drive so we overindulge because we can! At a certain point this establishment turns into a club more than restaurant and the line was out the door by 11pm. We did try the Brussel sprouts which was delicious and wished we would have tried more food but we were stuffed. They had great music, loved the decor and glad we stumbled upon this place! Can't wait to come back!
