It took him about 2 hrs to complete the adjustments so that the wood would feed properly. His fees were very reasonable and I should have paid more. He is very knowledgeable and just a great clean cut guy with a great personality. I'm not sure what happened, I have to call another handyman over 3 weeks after I expected to. He experimented with different stains for two weeks and came by our place twice to check options against the original wood in the other room. Before the job he offered a few different options (direction we wanted the wood to run, how did we want it to look near the cabinets, etc.) and then during the job he came up with a few ideas to make the final product even nicer. For example, we have a skylight and he lined the interior of that with the same wood and it looks fabulous and really finishes the room. He also used trim to finish the edges. Matt is a true craftsman who takes pride and great care in his work.
