Today my mom and I went to Bojangles on staples mill road. We have been going here for a while now. Today we went through the drive thru and ordered 2 of the 2 piece chicken tender supreme MEALS with mashed potatoes and gravy and Dr. Pepper to drink. First of all, they charged 30 cents extra for our Dr. Peppers (we order the meal, why was there a 30 cent charge for the drink, and no we did not ask for a large drink simply what comes with the meal.) Second, we got our meals and there was no straws, spoons, or napkins in our bag. I asked the lady nicely if we could have 2 spoons and straws. She looked at me like I had two heads. How do expect us to eat our mashed potatoes, with our hands? Also, the mashed potatoes were COLD. They weren't even the slightest bit of warm. Third, while we were eating our food, my mom saw that her chicken was RAW. Absolutely disgusting. And lastly, their sodas in general never taste good. They are consistently watered down. I am very disappointed. We did go back through the drive thru and showed them the chicken and asked for a refund. They did give us a refund. I've been here before and I didn't really like it. But I had to give this place another chance since it had been a very long time. I came here for just a smaller snack and I ended up getting the two piece snack. I have to admit that that was pretty a good portion for myself for lunch. I really enjoyed the biscuit and it was shaped in a heart for the month of February. The chicken ended coming out crispy and not soggy. It was flavorable and pretty good. I didn't like how much fat there was on the chicken thighs though. So I have to say that it's an A'okay for me. I come to this location when I visit my family and this time the food was no so good. Fries? So salty and lukewarm I tossed them out. The seasoning is now loaded with sodium instead of the savory cajun kick. That cajun filet calling me from NYC was dry and lacking flavor, like they reheated the patty from the day before. The biscuit itself, albeit flat as a pancake was fresh and tasty. The only reason they got to three stars was the past visits (4 stars) friendly staff and signature iced tea (a must). This is THE best Bojangle's location in the area, and I would strongly encourage anyone who loves fried chicken to come here for it. The interior is beautifully decorated and appears quite new. The seating was equally as attractive, and just seems upscale for what is effectively a fast food establishment. Plenty of parking makes things even easier to work with. An extremely polite and helpful cashier named Angela helped us at the counter. I was incredibly impressed by the quality of service she provided and my friend felt the same way. The location needed to cook up some new supremes for our meals, though she quickly got to work on that and gave us each complimentary Boberry biscuits while we waited, and ensured we received our drinks quickly as well. After a short time, the floor attendant Teresa brought our order directly to our table and was also very helpful throughout our meal, offering refills and to get rid of our trash for us. This is better service than I typically get at restaurants I pay more than twice as much to go to. I made sure to send a compliment about both of these employees to the Bojangle's corporate headquarters. In keeping with Bojangle's reputation, the food was delicious and tasted fresh. I look forward to coming here again on future Sundays and hope to have as good of an experience as I had today. In the last few weeks, I've gone through this drive thru twice - both times around 8 am. I have a 5 month old son in the backseat so sometimes going to a drive thru is risky - I don't want him to get fussy while I wait in line. Thankfully, both of my visits to this Bojangles have been seamless. Super quick, super polite, super easy. And obviously the chicken biscuits are delicious and I love the BoBerry biscuits as well. When this Bojangles opened a few years ago on Staples Mill rd, it had good food and tremendous service. My wife and I used to visit at least twice a week. Over the years it started slowly deteriorating until it reached absolute rock bottom. On a Friday night we decided to get some food before going to a basketball game. The list of atrocious service is long. The cashier taking our order refused my wife's request for hot fries because they had a lot of fries under hot lights, and they would not cook any more until those were gone. I ordered a two piece leg and thigh. He could not tell the difference between a thigh and a breast ( I observed him going over the pieces they had under hot lights) He ended up giving me a leg and breast. The leg was tepid at best, but edible. The breast was so dry that it was inedible. I had no idea how long the chicken had been under the hot lights, but certainly long enough to drive any moisture away. The dirty rice was equally as dry. Finally, the biscuit was stale. So much for the food. The service was worse. We witnessed a shouting match between the manager and the cashier, but were kept waiting for our food until we asked for it. Then my wife was informed that her order would take a few more minutes (her order was a simple filet on a bisquit). Words such as incompetence, lack of the most basic customer training, and total ignorance about how to maintain food in an acceptable state, came to mind. We have decided that we will never return to this store. The are too many fast food companies who value our business and if I spend $16.25 for two simple meals, I don't think it's too much to ask that the food be good and that you get fast, friendly service. So I sent my boyfriend to get us some food from there, because I was starving and I wanted Bojangles. They are so rude, the fries are way too salty, and the chicken is not cooked fully. Without further on this Henrico County location (I live a mile from it), Powhatan Bojangles still was the "bomb". Again, this location was busy, and the quality of their "country ham biscuits" did not disappoint. Again, we experienced friendly staff and other customers, but that's a given in most of rural Virginia. First of all.... this is a NEW Location, and I was anxious to try Bojangles for the FIRST time as so many have said many good things about their Chicken here on Yelp. So, when they opened, I was anxious to head down there to see what it was all about. As of this writing, I have been twice with about 2+ weeks apart. When they first opened, they place was crowded, and the people there were extremely great. I ordered the 2 Piece Chicken Dinner with Fries and Biscuit. I always order the Breast, as it is my favorite part of the chicken, and it also gives you a good indication on how they are cooking the food.... You either cook breast just right or you can OVER cook it and it is dry and tough to eat at times... You want breast to be cooked to the right temp, with the juices making the meat nice and tender. The first time, the breast was NOT bad, however the crust of the Chicken just had NO flavor to it, and I was disappointed. I felt it needed some desperate seasoning before it went into the fryer. The Fries was very good, and the biscuit was excellent. At this Point, I was at 4 Stars in my review.... HOWEVER.... I went back a 2 time more than 2 weeks later and it was a different story... I ordered the same meal again, however the breast looked liked it was OVER cooked. Even the bone even looked burnt from over cooking..... When, I took a bite into the chicken it was dryer than shoe leather. I thought I was going to have to soak it in my UNsweet Tea for a while to be able to swallow it... The Fries were over cooked as well, and I am not sure as to why there was such a great difference between this time and my first.... I am a BIG fan of Fried Chicken, and I will go out of my way to get what I think is the best. I will probably pass on Bojangles for a while as I have a favorite still, down on W. Broad St. I hope Bojangles will fix their fryer problem and even though they are close to where I live.... My co worker suggested trying out Bojangles for their fried chicken and I wanted to try something new. I've already tried/have had Lees, KFC, popeyes, Bonchon, Mama Js, etc but Bojangles was never on my radar. I came here after an intense volleyball practice at RVC. Their menu is similar to most fast food fried chicken places. They have meals and family dinner packages and of course sweet tea. But I think the one thing that Bojangles does to set themselves apart is that they have a fried chicken biscuit. The service was very friendly and quick. They announce their orders over the intercom to the kitchen staff which I am not entirely sure how accurate that is during peak times. I got the chicken biscuit and a two piece thigh with mashed potatoes/gravy and cole slaw. The biscuit was okay, not very flaky and a little hard in my opinion and the chicken was chewy and stiff as well... The fried chicken was also mediocre at best. Everything was very salty and not very appetizing. I paid about $10 and my meal came with a drink. For my future fried chicken cravings I will stick to Lees. read more

Love the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit. Good for any time of day. This location is brand new and has been open less than a week. The quality of food coming out of the kitchen is at the standards of other Bojangles that I have eaten at. It's great to see a company that is able to repeat its standards so easily from the start. This place is super close to my home and on my way to work so I foresee it being quite dangerous to my waistline. Their bacon, egg and cheese biscuits beat out McDonalds and other chain locations breakfast bar none in my book. read more

Rudest people I've ever spoken to. My boyfriend said "hey how are you" and she closed the window in his face. When we asked to repeat our order back to us (bc it has never once been correct) she proceeded to yell "huh?" I just don't understand how you can be in uniform and have no respect. First let me say I have NEVER written a review for anything online until now. I created this account just to leave this review and to warn anyone thinking about visiting this location! FIND ANOTHER RESTAURANT!!! I have gone to this restaurant several times and have NEVER gotten an order that was fresh or correct, but today was the final straw! We had a taste for a bacon egg and cheese combo and because it was pass normal breakfast hours, Bojangles was our only choices. Went through the drive thru and placed the order. Because of my past experiences, I requested FRESH food. Unfortunately, got home to find I had COLD HARD DRIED OUT FRIES and a COLD DRY CRUMBLY BISCUIT with a RUBBERY EGG! I did not feel like driving all the way back to wait for them to cook me a fresh one. Afterwards, I figured well at least I have some of their "famous" sweet tea, but yet again, this was an epic FAIL. I tasted it and gagged. It was so sweet that I thought it was a simple syrup for mixed drinks. It was obvious that someone on the staff thought it wasn't sweet enough and dumped 5lbs of sugar into a gallon of tea. SLOWEST. BOJANGLES. EVER. WAIT TIME IS 20+ MINUTES!!! I absolutely love Bojangles but this particular location is one of the sloooowest and most mismanaged Bojangles I've ever been to. They seem to have no comprehension that they are supposed to be fast food. Regardless of whether you're dining in or going thru the drive-thru you can expect a 20 minute wait time. I ate there roughly a week ago and dined inside and it took 20 minutes for them to get my order ready. What's worse is the person taking orders behind the counter kept confusing everyone by trying to upsell them on items instead of just taking their orders and moving things along. This evening I went the drive-thru at 5:30 on a Saturday night and after placing my order (a 4 piece chicken supreme combo) it took nearly 10 minutes just to make it to the pick up window. I then sat there for another 5 minutes before someone finally came to the window and asked me to pull up because they were out of chicken supremes and they just put more in the deep fryer. The guy told me it would take another 4 minutes and also had the nerve to tell me "it happens". So I pull up and wait another 10 minutes and as I look in my rear view mirror I see other people in the drive-thru line getting their orders and driving away. I finally storm inside and ask how long I'm supposed to wait and the manager on duty doesn't seem the least bit phased at all and actually annoyed as she gets the staff to prepare my order. She even tells the slow guy (the guy that made me pull up) that he's doing fine and not to worry as she casually goes in the back to get some fries to complete my order. She never apologizes or offers to give me anything free for my inconvenience. I finally get my order 25 minutes AFTER placing it at the drive-thru and go home. As I'm eating one of my chicken supremes, I feel something in my mouth and pull out an incredibly long hair. Ugggggggh! I should also add that everyone who works at this Bojangles looks like they are just one bad decision away from being on the wrong side of the law. My first visit to a Bojangles, after much hype from friends. The menu is a little confusing for a first-timer but eventually we figured it out. The homestyle tenders were good, not great, and the mashed potatoes were from Sysco's, so just so so. The biscuit was hella good. Hella good. The fries were some of the best I've had anywhere, surprisingly. My husband also enjoyed his leg and thighs combo, and the sweet tea was sweet but not overly so, which won over his New York-based heart. Would definitely eat there again. We are rarely on this side of town, so we make it a point to go by Bojangles when we're over this way. This restaurant is under new management, and Timothy Pierce was training his new crew. They did a fantastic job. There were employees in the parking lot cleaning up, the dining room was spotless and being constantly cleaned. The staff was super friendly and seemed to care that they satisfied the customers. Timothy walked around the dining room speaking with each customer to make sure they were happy with the food and service. We will be back more often for sure. read more
