Here is the raw chicken they served us.

Today my mom and I went to Bojangles on staples mill road. We have been going here for a while now. Today we went through the drive thru and ordered 2 of the 2 piece chicken tender supreme MEALS with mashed potatoes and gravy and Dr. Pepper to drink. First of all, they charged 30 cents extra for our Dr. Peppers (we order the meal, why was there a 30 cent charge for the drink, and no we did not ask for a large drink simply what comes with the meal.) Second, we got our meals and there was no straws, spoons, or napkins in our bag. I asked the lady nicely if we could have 2 spoons and straws. She looked at me like I had two heads. How do expect us to eat our mashed potatoes, with our hands? Also, the mashed potatoes were COLD. They weren't even the slightest bit of warm. Third, while we were eating our food, my mom saw that her chicken was RAW. Absolutely disgusting. And lastly, their sodas in general never taste good. They are consistently watered down. I am very disappointed. We did go back through the drive thru and showed them the chicken and asked for a refund. They did give us a refund. Absolutely no excuse for serving your customers RAW meat.

I've been here before and I didn't really like it. But I had to give this place another chance since it had been a very long time. I came here for just a smaller snack and I ended up getting the two piece snack. I have to admit that that was pretty a good portion for myself for lunch. I really enjoyed the biscuit and it was shaped in a heart for the month of February. The chicken ended coming out crispy and not soggy. It was flavorable and pretty good. I didn't like how much fat there was on the chicken thighs though. So I have to say that it's an A'okay for me. I can see myself coming here at least once more before the year end of those snack friend chicken cravings!

He had the fried chicken with hot honey, garlic mashed potatoes, and more collard greens. That fried chicken was so crispy and delicious. Had the peach cobbler bread pudding for dessert, and it was an EXPERIENCE. They have a very limited menu at lunch so you have a few appetizers to choose from, a few salads and sandwiches and burgers, so straight up American food. It does skew southern with crab cake sandwich, pimento cheese and fried chicken. For an appetizer we decided to try the wings. They were good and came with ranch drizzled over the wings. For entrees my husband got their farm & oak burger with Cole slaw and I got their wedge salad with fried chicken. Both were good. The salad was nice and cold and crisp, which was appreciated on such a hot day. It did have too much dressing so next time I might ask for less dressing or have it on the side. I enjoyed the food, service was good and it is a pretty restaurant. I'll probably come back for supper some time to try some of their more in-depth meals.

I had been telling my Dad for a while about how fun this place is, how nice everyone usually is, and how much I thought he would enjoy it. We were finally able to come together today, and he was genuinely excited to see the inside and have breakfast here for the first time. As expected, we were told the wait would be about 45-50 minutes. Fine. The place was busy, as it usually is, and we had absolutely no problem waiting. I spent years working as a server and hostess. I understand busy restaurants, long waits, and tables that don't turn as quickly as expected. After waiting about 40 minutes, I went to the host stand to simply ask for an update. We had watched people leave and groups continue to be seated during our wait, so I wanted to see where we stood. The young man at the host stand told me it would be ANOTHER 40-50 minutes. I genuinely thought he had confused our name with someone else's, so I explained that we had already been waiting for 40 minutes. He told me our names were "at the bottom of the list" and that people inside were moving very slowly. No apology. No double-checking the list. No attempt to figure out how a quoted 45-50 minute wait had suddenly turned into an hour and a half. He didn't ask if we were willing to sit inside, offer another seating option, or even suggest placing a to-go order. Nothing. He was completely dismissive. So I handed him the menu and my Dad and I left. Then, just 20 MINUTES later--not the additional 40-50 minutes we had literally just been told--I received a call saying our table was ready. I tried to explain that we were no longer there and WHY we had left. The second I said we had "left," I was HUNG UP ON. Honestly, that was it for me. Before that phone call, I was actually sitting in the car telling my Dad that maybe we could try again another day. Despite being embarrassed and disappointed after talking this place up to him so much, I was still willing to chalk it up to a bad interaction with one host. Getting hung up on completely sealed the deal. I'm not angry because the restaurant was busy. I'm angry because we were treated like we didn't matter. I'm angry because we waited patiently for 40 minutes, politely asked one question, and were dismissed with inaccurate information instead of someone taking 30 seconds to double-check. I'm angry because when I tried to explain what had happened, I wasn't even given the basic courtesy of finishing a sentence before someone hung up on me. My Dad and I have lived in Lakeside for over 30 years. We weren't asking to skip the line. We weren't demanding a table. We weren't rude to anyone. We were two local customers who were excited to have breakfast together at a place I had genuinely loved and recommended to other people. We will NEVER be back. And yes, we will absolutely be telling our friends, family, and neighbors about how we were treated and recommending that they go somewhere else unless they want to risk being dismissed, given completely inaccurate wait information, and hung up on when they try to explain why they left. Apparently this place is busy enough that treating people with basic courtesy no longer matters. That's fine. There are plenty of other restaurants that will happily take our money and, at the very least, treat my Dad and me like human beings. What was supposed to be a fun breakfast with my Dad turned into one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time. I went from genuinely loving and recommending this place to never wanting to step foot inside again. Congratulations. You lost two longtime local customers in less than an hour.

It was not good. The salad came in a large clamshell container, but only half of it was salad; the other half was a dressing container and some extras like bread, butter, a peppermint patty, and some sort of weird sweet spread. It also came with a cookie. I got a salad because I wanted something healthy, but this didn't fit the bill. I wanted it to have more greens, but it was mostly toppings, especially chicken, such that the salad was out of balance. I liked the crunchy tortilla strips. I skipped the dressing; it was a huge portion and would have completely overwhelmed the salad. I tasted a bit of it and I'm glad I skipped it -- gross. I don't know what the deal was with the sides. The bread was two basic slices of white bread; unappealing, I skipped it. I have no idea what the sweet spread was for. The peppermint patty was a peppermint patty, idk what it was doing there. The cookie looked pretty good; I thought it was chocolate chip. But, it turned out to be some sort of apple spice chocolate chip which is a terrible combination I've never seen before. I would not get this again.
