    A hungry customer.

I got the big chicken sandwich with the slaw... It was fantastic! I was glad I listened to the advice here about taking it down one heat level. My son got a medium and he was feelin' the HEAT!

    Chicken sando at Hot level

Interesting new spot serving fried chicken and boba tea. The Short Pump location has plenty of seating available and has tablets you can place your order. One weird thing is that the boba tea selections weren't available on the tablet. Not a big deal but weird. But anyway, more importantly, the food. It's very good. We all ordered ourselves a sandwich, waffle fries, and loaded fries. We each got a boba tea as well. My Chicken Sando was at a Hot level and it was pretty hot actually! It's the second highest level of spiciness. It was pretty good. The sandwich had a pretty thick piece of chicken in it. It was seasoned with the spices and was topped with Cole slaw, pickle, and sauce. The sauce was a pretty savory that went well with the spicy seasoning. It was delicious. Not sure I would venture into the highest level of spice. I'm somebody who can handle spice and this level was a little hard for me, so might want to avoid that level if you know you can't handle spice. The loaded fires were pretty decent too. It consisted of waffle fries, pickle, shredded cheese, and fried chicken pieces. I felt it consisted of more chicken than fries and by a big proportion. A solid side dish. The boba tea is good but not amazing. They have a good enough selection. It's actually a good menu item to have with your spicy food. Something sweet and milky is a good way to wear off some of that hot food! A funny thing happened is that they mislabeled two of our drinks: the matcha milk tea and the honeydew one. To be fair, their colors are pretty similar. Not a big deal but found it a little funny. One more thing to note is that the portions are HUGE. I can't believe I'm saying this: but it might actually be too big, like way too big portions. I consider myself a pretty heavy eater but that chicken sandwich alone nearly filled me up. Both the chicken and the buns are pretty thick, especially the chicken. I think halving the chicken thickness might make it more approachable for many. The loaded fries are pretty but portioned heavily too. It included quite a bit of fried chicken. I was the only one in our group who finished the entire sandwich. We boxed up the other two sandwiches and the loaded fries. So a sandwich might not be the best item for a light eater. Don't get me wrong, the food is very delicious and I highly recommend trying this place out. I would suggest sharing an entree with another person though.

Medium Chicken Sando, Spicy Garlic Soy Sauce

All the food came out quickly, fresh and crispy. The chicken is seasoned well. The sandwiches are massive - I couldn't make it halfway through. I love the large pickle slices. The spicy garlic soy sauce and the hangry sauce are both good. The hangry sauce reminds me of the Raising Canes sauce. The bubble teas were perfect to cool down the spices. The loaded fries were a meal on its own. That'll be my go-to next time. You get a bit of everything: fries, chicken (more chicken than fries), cheese, and the hangry sauce. The staff is still working out some kinks. Several tables around us had an issue or two but the owners were quick to assist. You can either order on a kiosk or at the register.

    Chicken Sando Combo 1 (SandoFries)

If you're looking for fast food, this isn't the place. There weren't any other people in the store, and our order took 20 minutes--ordered a basic chicken sandwich. Price wise- everything is very reasonable. A combo is $15 which comes with your main, fries, and a drink. They gave Pepsi products available. The restaurant is fairly big! You'll definitely find a spot to sit. It's outdated but really clean. As for the food, it was decent hot chicken. I think it's very comparable to Dave's Hot Chicken. The chicken sandwich was huge. Waffle fries were good. Sauce was okay. Funnel fries were greasy and bland. Mac and cheese was just topped with cheese, that's it. On a positive, this place is Halal! The service is not :( EDIT: Attached is what they said about the wait, so I WILL NOT DOCK THEM OFF FOR SERVICE BECAUSE THEY ARE TRANSPARENT ABOUT IT

To-go Chicken Sando combo. The fries were soft and undercooked. The bun and chicken were dry.
    P.K. S.

I got the chicken sando combo with spice level medium. I'd say the spicy sandwich at Chick-fil-a is spicier than this was. The bun and chicken were both dry. The fries were undercooked and soft. I gave two stars because the meal was super filling and the service was great. But the food was less than average.

I'm so happy this opened up right next to my house because I crave it so much now!! I always get the chicken sando with mild spice (be careful with the spice levels because anything medium and up is very spicy). Based on how I'm feeling, I also get some fries and bubble tea (this location has bubble tea in the store). The fried chicken is SO GOOD and always hits the spot. The slaw is made so well and compliments the spice perfectly. And the waffle fries are the perfect level of crisp. What I especially love about this place/location is how friendly the owners are! Their service is always exceptional and I can't recommend this place enough if you love spicy fried chicken!!

I am so impressed with Hangry Joe's! It blew Cocky Rooster out of the water. The food was delicious. I mean the spice had so much flavor and the crunch on the chicken was perfection. In addition, the fries were fresh and I loved their signature sauce. Also, the staff was just so genuine and friendly. Some of the best service in the area. They truly just wanted to cook a great southern meal for you, but take the flavors to an 11. If you're craving a bite before a movie at Regal, be sure to stop in. If they had alcohol, this would be the SPOT.

First time here! Just walked in, so far so good. Very clean, good music, and I was greeted immediately by Justin. Great vibe so far
    Hector R.

So, I decided to try Hangry Joe's today because I was very hungry and in the mood for chicken. I get there and I was immediately greeted by Justin, who turned out to be a cool dude. They had today's hits playing on the radio and I immediately noticed the cleanliness, which, I am super grateful for. Justin helped me navigate the menu by explaining my options. I immediately gravitated towards the Medium Hot Sando, which is a huge sandwich with waffle fries and a fountain drink . As I waited I got myself a coke and waited at the bar top. The sandwich came out in less than 10 minutes. I have to say, wow! I looked at this sandwich in amazement! It was huge and looked so good! It literally looked like what they would show in a commercial. I bit into this monster and I immediately felt the heat from the seasoning then the temp. Mmmmm! The thick cut pickles were a great addition along with the crispy semi sweet slaw to balance the whole sandwich out. The side of waffle fries were crispy and seasoned well. The fries came with a spicy mayonnaise type sauce which I asked for more. Lol! I couldn't help it. Lol! This meal was huge so I had to tap out. I came in very hungry and left satisfied! That's exactly what I wanted. Let's step back and realize this is not a gourmet restaurant and that is totally fine. I have expectations when I enter a corporate business. I know it's not going to be the best sandwich you have ever ate, but I have a high standard for cleanliness and quality. Hangry Joe's definitely met my expectations and their food is great! I will be going back to try their chicken tenders/nuggets. I never skip a restaurant based on other people's reviews because their perspective may be different than mine. I like big portions and spice and that's what I got. Give it a try for yourself. Just do me a favor! Go HUNGRY!!!!!

Visited this location for the first time after a few visits to the first / pilot location. I always have high hopes for a chicken joint. Unfortunately I think Hangry suffers from some execution and service issues. The chicken sandwich was certainly flavorful. However, while previous sandwiches at the Ashland location were served with a single chicken breast, the Short Pump location was served with 3 tenders that were over cooked. And the sandwich was also extremely messy and fell apart as a result of a dry bun and the tenders. I provided feedback to the owner and got a defensive response telling me they only serve the sandwich with a single chicken breast at all locations. Pictures and my experience suggest otherwise. No way to run a business telling me I'm wrong. Okra on the side was incredibly bland and under seasoned. I didn't order the fries or the loaded fries this time as those were disappointing when I previously tried them at the Ashland location. Melt the cheese in those loaded fries! Amateur hour. Service wasn't welcoming or attentive at all. I will be sticking to Buttermilk & Honey given consistency and service is great there.

This is my first time here. I had three different flavours of their Pinwheel. Also, eating the pinwheels for the first time. These things are delicious. Service by the person who helped me was great. He is very friendly and nice.

This location has gender neutral restrooms. Our order: a SmokeShack burger with extra ShackSauce on the side, a plain hot dog, the free fries with a cup of cheese sauce, a s'mores shake, and a complimentary cup of water. The verdict: The burger was excellent -- very juicy with a crispy, proper smash-burger sear. The ShackSauce wasn't for us -- it has an unfamiliar tang we couldn't quite place (Dijon?), so you may want to taste it first before committing. Fries were fresh and crispy, but I still prefer fresh-cut fries elsewhere. The s'mores shake was delicious, but a suggestion: get wider shake straws! It's nearly impossible to pull the mix-ins through a regular straw. App feedback for management: The app needs cheese sauce and ShackSauce as add-on options for online ordering -- we had to request them in person. Menu suggestions: Hot dog topping options are also limited; relish should be a standard choice, and chili would be a great addition. And personally, we'd love shredded cheese as an alternative to cheese sauce on both the fries and hot dogs. Worth noting why the prices run premium: Shake Shack uses 100% all-natural Angus beef with no hormones or antibiotics ever, and their shakes are made with real frozen custard -- spun fresh with real sugar and dairy, not syrup mix. The "fine casual" approach means fast-food speed with better sourcing, and you can taste the difference in the burger especially. IMHO, we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Only a couple of people in the dining area and about 5 employees behind the counter. When I went to find a seat, the third table I got to was clean, though there was trash on the floor under it. Lemonade was a cup FILLED with ice and topped up with what was a 24 ounce cup with probably 10 oz of lemonade for over $4. Fries were fresh, but the spicy seasoning was too heavy. The hamburger was sort of dry and not all that good. I know McDonalds makes a better burger for a LOT LESS money. At these prices, I was expecting a burger worth writing home about, but it was below McD's quality.

Everything was fantastic. The chicken was crispy to the last wing, flavor of the sauce was excellent. Fries were crispy with great flavor with the buffalo each rub. We ordered a small and the bag was huge. I don't know if that was a mistake but if it was truly a small there would never be a reason to order the large as it could easily feed 4. Now for me--I kept it cute and went with the mild slider and fries. I only ordered one slider because I saw how big they were on someone else's plate, and I was right--it was HUGE! And let me tell you, it was actually really good. The chicken was flavorful, crispy, and cooked just right. And listen... I am not a coleslaw person at all, but theirs? Surprisingly good! The pickle added that perfect sweet and tangy kick that pulled everything together. The restaurant itself was clean and had some really cool, colorful artwork that gave it a fun vibe. And the service? Excellent! The cashier was friendly, patient, and really knowledgeable about the different heat levels and flavors, which made ordering super easy. Now, the only downside for me was the price. It felt a little high for what you get, (the meal did not include a drink) so I did take off a star for that.
