I am formally submitting this complaint regarding an extremely disturbing sanitation incident that occurred at the following Bojangles location during Mother's Day weekend 2026: Bojangles Store Number: #000998 6922 GA Highway 85 Riverdale, Georgia 30274 Phone: (770) 907 3572 Date of Visit: 05/11/2026 Time of Transaction: Approximately 10:21 AM Cashier Listed on Receipt: Gabrielle Check Number: 165827 Total Purchase Amount: $25.13 My order included: Two steak biscuits with egg and American cheese Dirty rice Three wings and biscuit Large Pepsi I am visiting Georgia from Arizona for Mother's Day weekend and stopped at this Bojangles location expecting a normal breakfast experience. What I witnessed instead was one of the most unsanitary and revolting experiences I have witness in a fastfood place. While standing at the front register placing my order, the cashier identified as Gabrielle suddenly spit a thick mass of green mucus directly into her gloved hand while staring at me and continuing to take my order. Please understand...this wasnt a small cough clearing her throat. The phlegm was thick, green, wet, fibrous, and stringy to the point that it stretched like melted cheese from her mouth into her hand. It looked infected. What made the situation even more disturbing was that she momentarily continued speaking to me while still holding the bolus of green mucous in her gloved hand. As she talked, remnants of nasty phlegm around and beneath her mouth and appeared to hang and drip while she continued interacting with me face to face at the register. tIt took a few seconds for me to process my thinking from thinking "IKYFL" to being responding civilly because I could not believe this was happening openly in front of customers in a restaurant serving food to the public. She could clearly tell from my expression that I was shocked. Her response was casual. She stated something to the effect of, "Well, you know, I wanted to come up here and help y'all and get y'all order." (Prior to ordering there was a wait, for me and two other customers and I I asked the drive through clerk was their someone at the front counter) Then, instead of immediately washing her hands or sanitizing herself, she removed the glove containing the mucus and placed that glove directly into her pocket. At that point everything was happening so fast that I was still trying to process what I had just witnessed while completing the transaction because I didn't want to come off as rude and confrontational. So, I paid for the food, but the entire interaction felt surreal. I then specifically asked her, "Are you going to wash your hands?" Gabrielle said " I'm not making your food so it doesn't matter". I was relieved that she wasn't but still disturbed. Shortly after, she went to the restroom. After returning, she went directly behind the counter participated in preparing the very food I was about to eat. (Actually wrapping the sandwiches) Even after previously telling me she was not the person making the food. That detail disturbed me more than anything else and for this reason the event just replayed over and over in my mind. I had just watched this employee openly spit thick green mucus into her hand at the register, continue speaking while mucus residue remained around her mouth, place the contaminated glove into her pocket, dismiss concerns about handwashing, and then return to prepare my breakfast food anyway. So for this reason, I completely lost confidence in the sanitation standards of this establishment. I initially took the order and walked toward the door trying to convince myself not to overreact, but the image of that green mucus stretching from her mouth into her hand while she stood there handling customer transactions is something I genuinely cannot unsee. I requested the manager. Gabrielle initially stated that the manager was busy in the back office counting down a drawer. I told her directly that I wanted the manager brought out immediately. The manager, Nicole, eventually came out and sat with me in the dining area while I explained exactly what had occurred. Nicole apologized for the event with Gabreille, and refunded me my money. I appreciate that the manager handled the situation respectfully, but my concern goes far beyond one refunded meal. My concern is that if an employee feels completely comfortable openly expelling thick green mucus into their hand directly in front of customers and genuinely does not seem to understand why that behavior is horrifying inside a food establishment, then what exactly is happening behind the counter when customers cannot see? This location reportedly maintains an "A" health rating, yet what I personally witnessed was behavior completely inconsistent with basic food safety, sanitation, illness prevention, and public health standards. Drive through ....ordered sausage, egg, cheese biscuit. I watched prep through the open window. Sausage patty was slung onto the prep table...not on a wrapper. The young lady tried to obscure my view of her slapping that patty on my sandwich. I told her I would not accept that sandwich. She discusses with another lady who must have told her to slide around to the front and give me one of those OR she simply created another sandwich. I drove off and checked my bag on the way to my meeting. HARDEST BISCUIT THEY HAD THAT DAY....for sure. Also, no cheese was on the sandwich. I didn't eat it and took it back after my meeting. Terrible experience every time. I just sat in the drive thru for FORTY FIVE minutes for only 5 cars. Service is awful. Even with all that wait, my food was cold. I could have eaten twice somewhere else in this time span. The employees were taking breaks outside in plain sight while we waited, too. AFTER I ordered and paid, they tell me at the food window they don't have part of my order at all, and don't offer a refund. After I specifically asked at the ordering point if they were out of anything, and the girl told me they had it, the guy at the window tells me they don't. Honestly, these places should not be open or in business if they do these types of shady things. Tell me the truth before I pay, or give me back my money. This is an updated review because it has been a few years since my last one. When Bojangles is at their best, they have great food. Unfortunately they are rarely at their best. This morning I ordered a sausage egg and cheese biscuit and bo-rounds. I asked for my bo-rounds to be cooked a little longer so that they were crispy because I often receive under cooked and/ or cold bo-rounds. Today, my biscuit, was out of the wrapper and stuck to the bottom of the bag. The egg had come completely off the biscuit. ( see the attached picture ) The bo-rounds were actually cooked perfect. During my transaction, the only time I spoke to an employee is when they took my original drive-thru order. Neither the lady taking my money, nor the lady giving me my food spoke a word to me. The stag at this location is still rude and very unwelcoming. I feel like I'm inconveniencing them or a bother. No one should work in a restaurant with the kind of attitudes they have here. Also, they do not let you know ahead of time that there is a wait for something if you order it until after you pay. I think this is dishonest. Now let me start by saying I love me some bojangles I love their chicken wings and my favorite fixins are the fries, Mac and cheese, dirty rice and their Mash potatoes n gravy and something else to try is the chicken rice bowl so delicious. The prices for the food are reasonable in my opinion. Now on to my experience at this bojangles well this was my first time dining in at this location it was empty when I walked in I walked up and wasn't greeted but I just waited for the cashier to come. I order my food which was two combos. She gave me a number I went to sit and wait for my food. The food came fast it wasn't hot but it was Luke warm maybe from the light it be sitting under. Being that it was empty I didn't expect nothing to be wrong with my food beside the temp of the food she forgot my fixins and dipping sauce. So I had to go up there get the items that were missing and return to my table. The dining area was clean but the employees move so slow. Here is my, "writing my review while at the establishment review." This is the longest wait I've ever had at any fast food restaurant. Typically, Bojangles makes you wait for Bo Rounds, I'm guessing so that they're fresh. That's fine, no problem. But this is ridiculous!!!! I've been waiting at the "white line" for approximately 25 mins and it's 10:38pm with no customers inside the store. So what's taking so long??. I refuse to get out of my car and go in because, again it's almost 11pm and I don't feel safe. There are also some very unsavory characters parked next to me waiting for their food. For some reason they keep getting out of the car and then getting right back in. Very creepy. I'm tempted to drive off but I've already paid for my food. I'm seething! And this isn't the first time I've been stuck waiting at the white line for my food. Sometimes they tell you to "pull up to the white line" and then they literally forget about you. One time I waited for about 15mins for what they said would be a 4min wait until finally I decided to go inside. When I got inside it was clear that they didn't even realize I was still waiting for my order so they apologized but had to start they entire order over again completely wasting my time! They gave me a few free desserts to try and compensate but THIS time no dessert will do it. This is unacceptable and I can tell you that this is the LAST time I'll be waiting at any line at Bojangles. I'm highly disappointed! read more

Waited 10 minutes with no other customers outside or inside and went inside only to be told my supremes had not been dropped.
