What a wonderful local bookstore near Stinson Beach! I always make it a point to pick up a new book…read morewhenever we have a beach day. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. The staff was incredibly friendly and offered so many thoughtful recommendations, making it difficult to choose just one book. Of course, I ended up leaving with a great book along with several unique items from the store. Everything was reasonably priced, and I felt like I received great value for everything I purchased. There's something special about supporting local bookstores and small businesses that help bring a community to life. If you're spending time in the area, I highly recommend stopping by. Whether you're looking for your next great read, a thoughtful gift, or simply want to browse and enjoy the cozy atmosphere, this bookstore is well worth a visit. I'm already looking forward to returning on my next trip to Stinson Beach.

Beautiful little bookstore next to the beach. Charming, wooden, low ceilings. The folks who work…read morehere are extremely lovely, including the gentleman wearing the green pointed cap who looked a bit like a gnome (and we mean that as a compliment). Hours are limited, so call in advance plan accordingly. They have relatively limited inventory, but very fun to browse. There is also a spare room in the back where you can find cards, tote bags, and gifts for friends. Highly recommend.

Ahhh, I don't even know where to begin, I love this place! It has everything I could want in one…read morespot: books, coffee and matcha, pastries, plants, cute little trinkets, and even a kids' corner for my boys. Not only does it have all of that, but the drinks aren't just pretty to look at, they're actually so good. I also love how community-oriented the space feels. It has such a warm, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay awhile. I even signed up for their rewards program because I already know I'll be back. I didn't get a chance to explore the back of the store during my last visit, so that's at the top of my list next time. Such a fun place to spend a slow morning or afternoon!

Community-oriented cafe in the Outer Sunset district!…read more Blackbird is located across the street from Hook Fish, meaning that parking is packed and hard to find, so use public transit! I have gone to Blackbird a handful of times and have enjoyed the experience each time. Blackbird is primarily a bookstore, but they do have an outdoor window where you can order drinks ranging from matcha (Rocky's Matcha, if you're curious about which brand they use), lattes, and tea. They also carry a good amount of pastries (even mid-day, they have a lot of goodies), which I really appreciated. When you order your drink, you have to enter inside the bookstore to wait for your drink to be called, but you can take the time to stroll around and look at their book selection and trinkets. Heads up: the seating here is limited but very lovely. Inside, there are a couple of community tables, but their outdoor area is absolutely magical, with lush greenery and benches for you to enjoy your drinks. This time around, I got one of their seasonal drinks, a honey lavender vanilla latte, and I paired it with an Earl Grey olive oil loaf. The portion of the pastry was generous and moist, while the icing was not too sweet. Overall, a great pick for a cafe if you're in the area.

I find this a very professional attitude to show concern for other humans. I've been to this bookstore twice in a month and am happy to say I'll be back soon. There's nothing like the smell and feeling of a fresh, new book in my life. They also have a beautiful selection of Tarot and Oracle decks.

I said hello and explained that I was looking for help finding a white elephant gift for a coworker. I asked for some suggestions. Her response was, "I don't know your coworker." Seriously? I barely know my coworker either. Needless to say, she was no help at all. I ended up turning around and helping myself since I clearly wasn't going to get any assistance. As I was leaving, she said something like, "I'm sorry if I offended you," without a smile. Great. I went down the street and walked into two other stores, explaining the same white elephant gift dilemma. At both stores, the retail clerk took the time to walk me around their store, offered ideas and suggestions to see what might work. Of course, I ended up buying the gift at one of those stores. Novato Copperfield may want to consider training employees to be more helpful when customers ask unusual questions-but then again are white elephant gift questions in December really so out-of-the-ordinary? Just now I searched for "white elephant Christmas gifts" on Amazon and found a ton of somewhat amusing suggestions. I'm not a Prime member and I tend to avoid all thing Amazon, but at least their algorithm/AI is actually helpful...
