Great owners, always on the floor to help you. Constantly getting new things, including local (especially cheeses, ice-cream and many other goodies). We needed some snacks before our hike (Palomarin) and visited this general store in the quaint town to Bolinas on our way. The service was great and the selection of goods was OK. "It ain't no Safeway", but I get the feeling they would never want to be Safeway. If anything, this place is reflective of the rustic environment that is typical of this artsy, surfy, hippie seaside community. Hippies work the store that has lots of local produce in addition to other foods and household goods. I wouldn't hesitate to return, but I now know to manage my expectations with the limited selection. read more

The manager (owner?) of the store, Nader Ghattas, is a total creep. Yesterday at his store when I was purchasing alcohol, he asked me to pull down my face mask, supposedly to check my ID, and then said "very nice" when he saw my face. He looked me up and down and I felt totally creeped out, so much so that I told my boyfriend about it once I left the store. He must have gotten my name from my ID or credit card receipt, because he then - GET THIS - sent me a Facebook friend request! Gross. In shock, I called the store to speak to the manager to tell them how inappropriate their employee's behavior was, and it turns out he's the manager. Ummmm hello!? It's 2021 and this is how you're treating your female customers? Needless to say, I'm never going back to this store. read more

Small town market that has great charm, fantastic meat & fish counter, great sandwich making guy, and a little bit of everything that you might need for a picnic or a beach house. The sandwiches are awesome because the guy that makes them has great pride in his sandwich making skills and he cares about making your sandwich as good as it can be. We had the godfather which is roast beef, tomato, red onion, pepperoncini, with melted provolone on sourdough roll with mayo and horseradish and lettuce. $9.75 read more

Seems to be the only grocery in town, but I guess there's another down the road. Very conveniently located next to the park. Came by around 1pm to pick up lunch after surfing. Picked up the last of the ribs, which are doused in a delicious BBQ sauce made by the deli guy from Memphis! He's really friendly, too. Super tender and sold by the pound (talking about the ribs, not the deli guy). They only make so much (2 racks?) in the morning and its first come, first served. We bought the 6 remaining ribs to share. Come early if you want to taste the wonder! We also grabbed sandwiches and pasta salad. They don't toast sandwiches, but they're delicious anyways. Also grabbed chips, gummy bears, and coconut water, so the bill was ~$28 for 2 people. Definitely on the more expensive side, but there's not much competition or other options in the area. Cute grocery store and I'll come back if I'm in town, even though its a little expensive (thus minus one star). read more

The only kind of bears I'm into are Cinnamon Bears! And this is the only place I've been able to find them in years. Are we in the midst of a cinnamon bear shortage? Why hasn't this made the news??? I'm serious--go to your local liquor/convenience store and look for cinnamon bears. You won't find them. (If you do, please tell me!). I have this thing for small-town general stores, and this is one of the best I've come across. No decor, no in-your-face advertising...just stuff you need to buy! I like to stock up on the essentials (ice cream, soda, beer) before heading for the beach. In true Bolinas style are community bulletin boards on the building's exterior. It's also next door to the always awesome Coast Cafe. This little stretch of Wharf Road is why I love this town. But for me, it all comes back to the Cinnamon Bears. I have to buy their entire stock every time I'm there. In October, I bought 8 bags. A couple days ago, I picked up 11. I now have enough bears to reenact the Harrison Street Fair! Score! read more

I loved: Small town general store vibe. Wooden floors, front porch. Painted murals on the outside walls. Fresh bread, great deli counter (friendly deli/meats counter staff). Able to get almost everything we needed for our fam of 6. I didn't love: no seafood available (until fisherman brings something in). Some of the fruits & veggies appeared wilted & moldy (only bought potatoes & avocado). And the VERY high prices! The only grocery store (at least the closest) we found in town. read more

You have to love a market with a wooden sidewalk out front, even if you don't love anything else. Here's what we loved about Bolinas Market on a recent vacation week in town....rotisserie chicken (call and order one set aside they only make so many), and the meat and fish counter. Totally freshly caught salmon (in season) and whatever else the boats are bringing in. Between this market and the farm stand, you don't need much of anything else. (er, sorry People's Market) They also sell the awesome bread from Parkside Bakery. read more

Review on the sandwiches!!! My bf and I came here over the weekend to pick up sandwiches for our hike. I had the Dutch crunch happy hippie with smoked turkey. The man making the sandwiches had a friendly vibe, we were in and out... Parking is so so... We found parking down the street. We really enjoyed our sandwiches 3 hrs later. Bolinas doesn't have much options, I'm glad this little market offers sandwiches. If we ever come back to hike the area. We will def come back for sandwiches! read more

The meat/fish counter man could use a lesson in customer service. We heard great reviews of the fresh fish they sell so we went in the morning hoping to buy some. The fish counter man told us they were expecting to get a delivery in the afternoon and recommended that we call to avoid making an unnecessary trip back to the market. When we called we were told the fish would be delivered at 4:30. We returned to the counter and were told that all the fish had been pre-ordered. What?! Why didn't you tell us that in the morning during our initial interaction?! Not sure if his story was true - I got the feeling he just didn't want to sell to people who were not locals. Don't waste your time at this place: take your business elsewhere. read more

This store is old. I like the rugged feel to it. But some of the storage pieces that are meant to keep things cold look kind of scary to me and I would hate to get food poisoning. The place is pricey, but if you are hungry you'll pay. read more

So sorry Bolinas Market but I had to speak up after our last experience. We have been living in Stinson Beach for a couple of months now and have gone to Bolinas Market for your amazing fresh fish, variety and to enjoy the town and beach. Not to mention the farmers stand. It seems that there are residents of your town and cashiers at your store that see us as a burden. We also understand we look like tourists and will be paying a premium. However, after walking out and looking at the receipt for a few tomatoes, a jar of olives and two newspapers, we thought that $25 was a bit steep. When we came back you, you were apologetic but it seemed rather forced and you had difficulty explaining the $11 difference. I'd like to chalk it up to an error but the awkwardness indicated differently. We will be back but will scrutinize the bill and recommend that others do, too. It would nice if locals realized that they would benefit from being honest and friendly with folks who financially support their community. Peoples market seems to be on track. read more

I called in to the deli and ordered a sandwich for lunch. The man on the phone taking my order was nice, but when I started eating I noticed my sandwich had mold on it. I am not usually one to write reviews for businesses as I think negative comments can really damage someone's reputation. However, I believe that if you are running a food business you own it to your consumer to have fresh ingredients. I am bummed to only be giving them one star. read more

As I was grabbing a Kambucha from their fridge, I noticed that the fridge was barely cold. I bought it anyways, and when I opened it bubbled up spilling all over my hand and floor, the lady said "you shacked it", but I didn't, I simply grabbed it from their musty old fridge and intermediately took it to the counter. The rude lady didn't even offer me a napkin. This $4 Kambucha, was undrinkable. I wouldn't buy delicate perishable items from this old store. read more

the prices are to high and not very healthy stuff ,the only good stuff is the fresh local fish and meet ,they also tried to charge me an additional $ 35 in addition to the total cost of food, be careful and check out the accounts of the things that lead before paying ,we live on Bolinas and we have heard the same thing to happened to our friends again and again .they do not provide proof of purchase unless you demand it and receipt does not specify any product you bought,and receipt numbers do not match the number of things you have even the prices that makes it easier to get robbed . read more
