Turkey sandwich with everything on Dutch crunch. So good. Bread was freshly baked. $14.99

This little town is probably 2 blocks long. Came across this grocery store. There's only one store on the block that sell sandwiches, fresh bread, varieties of fruit jams, varieties of bread spread, and other items. Saw people grabbing freshly baked artichoke garlic bread so I bought one too. It was the best fluffy and delicious bread I ever had. A must have! There's a deli in the back of the store. There was a long line so I figured it is good. So I ordered a turkey sandwich on Dutch crunch. The bread was light with a crunch. It was so fresh and good. I wished I bought more to bring home. Will definitely come back this little cute town again someday.

Taking a cruise on the 1- this is your stop! Wonderful sandwiches and so many yummy breads to choose from! Definitely the slight detour off the 1! The market is full of many homemade items, the staff are friendly, and the store is rustic and cozy!

With our goat cheese haul from Harley Farms, we headed into this store for their famous bread. We got some bread, a pasta salad, drinks, and settle into one of their tables outside. Had a great lunch spread eating the bread with goat cheese, the pepperoni, the fruits that I packed, etc. I also let my pup sample some cheese. He loved it. Service was friendly and the ambiance is an ole fashioned country store. Although we didn't partake, the hot item seems to be their sandwiches at the time of our visit. Located on Stage Rd., just around the bend from Pescardero Creek Rd.

Too much hype, yes you get warm fresh bread but that's all. We drove more than 1 hour to reach there with excitement, the drive itself was great. It is a old store and were welcomed with great smell of fresh baked bread, inside the store. It reeks nostalgia , all cool to look around. We were hungry and ordered spicy cheddar and we asked them to make more spicy, quick service as it was not crowded. We got the sandwich, excited when we opened it was a sandwich made out of sliced bread and what more was we did know was extra spicy means more marinara sauce , that tasted like store bought. What a disappointment Then we got the famous artichoke bread, which was warm, we did not wait, which we when broke we had large pieces of artichoke nothing else. Bland tasting with big chunks and hard to eat, that to on one side of the bread only. Another big disappointment Not worth the trip, I won't bother if it is next door.

Walked in early afternoon to grab one of their famous artichoke garlic herb bread $10. It lived up to the hype. Even though it is kept out in the open, it is somehow kept warm. It is a big loaf of bread, totally justifies the price. Very fresh. Crispy and garlicy outer crust, soft inside stuffed with artichokes. The artichokes are not distributed evenly inside but there is actually a decent amount. Artichokes are very fresh, but plain. They would be even better if flavored in some way. Definitely worth trying. If a low carb plus a does not care for bread person together can finish an entire loaf in a day, it's good lol. It's little market that sells a variety of groceries. Grab and go

Arcangeli Grocery came highly recommended, but sadly didn't live up to expectations. We stopped here for lunch, having heard great things about the sandwiches. I decided to build my own sandwich and asked the girl at the counter which bread she would recommend. She suggested the garlic herb, which I got with turkey, provolone, veggies, pesto, and garlic spread. Service was reasonably fast and they had the cutest back patio seating area with both sunny and shady spots. Unfortunately, the sandwich really fell short for me. The bread she had recommended was just sliced bread and the garlic herb flavor was pretty subtle. My friend had gotten his on dutch crunch, which was barely crunchy at all. We also got a freshly baked loaf of their famous Garlic Artichoke bread and this didn't even land for me. I expected the artichokes to be more integrated into the bread, but the loaf was just stuffed with whole artichokes - not the best. The best part of our experience was the barbeque sauce we bought at the grocery (they had a massive selection). It was spicy peach, and tasted amazing on some grilled chicken thighs the next day. Would return to shop, but would skip the sandwiches next time!

This is a perfect bakery and deli for a sandwich. We took ours to a local beach and it was the perfect afternoon. We also picked up some fresh made bread and it was warm straight out of the oven For sandos we got the chicken pesto and our FAV turkey chipotle!! The sauce and bread was a perfect combo.

Fun little boutique grocery store in a cute town! Definitely worth stopping because there is something special for everyone. We came for the deli in the back but ended with $75 of groceries because of their selection of single can drinks, beers, chips, cheeses, and nuts. It was nice during our hotel stay in half moon bay! Definitely a pricy little spot but it was worth it. The godfather sandwich- SO good! With a side of their sriracha pasta. Cute little picnic area in the back too

The warm, fresh garlic artichoke bread is reason enough to stop by this grocery store in Pescadero, but if you're shopping around lunch time be sure to grab a sandwich as well. The Godfather is big enough to share and loaded with freshly sliced deli meat on homemade bread. There is plenty of parking in the area and a couple of tables/benches out front if you want to eat there before heading to the beach.

Arcangeli Grocery is located in a small country town called Pescadero. Pescadero, California? Where is that!?! Well it's "a beautiful coastal town two miles off Highway 1 between San Francisco and Santa Cruz." I was recently introduced to their bread at a dinner and then some good friends took my wife and I on a road trip to actually visit this place! Arcangeli Grocery is famous for their freshly baked artisan Italian and French style bread that they bake all day long! They also boast a deli that makes great sandwiches and pizzas. Quaint, unassuming grocery store with a lot of history and vintage pictures from the past. The cashiers and deli workers are all so friendly and helpful! They offer a few tables in front of the store but if you walk around to the backside of the building, they have a large picnic area with picnic tables where you can sit and enjoy the surroundings. They do have three port-a-potties also. I ordered the... #1 The Godfather (grilled): salami, mortadella, prosciutto, provolone, lettuce, onion, pepperoncinis & garlic-herb spread on pesto foccacia. My wife went with the BYO (Build Your Own) Sandwich. Hot Pastrami: soft roll bread, Muenster cheese, lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, & mayo. Both sandwiches were piled high with meat and both equally delicious! The pickle was good too. Not too sour. I can see why people take roadtrips here and make a nice day out of enjoying the ocean, scenic views of the nice coastline, wildlife, etc. We brought home two loaves of artichoke herb garlic bread! If you are not local, they offer their breads online: https://www.goldbelly.com/restaurants/arcangeli-grocery They have been in business since 1929! Congrats to your longevity and continued success. Support your local business.

The artichoke garlic herb bread here is wonderful especially when it's hot and fresh out of the oven. They come out with them every 10 minutes and they get snagged fast, people are waiting. And it's worth the wait. Big chunks of artichoke inside and delicious bread and the crust is nice and crunchy. They also have a very good artichoke dip that we got to dip this in. That was double goodness! They sell ice cream, gelato, many different flavors of spaghetti sauces, there's a cold deli in the back, very cool grocery store. I picked up the artichoke Parmesan pasta sauce and I can't wait to cook with it. I also got the Meyer lemon gelato that was good and tangy. Such a cool little town to explore. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful. I called before coming by to inquire on the bread to make sure they had more, and the guy on the phone was incredibly nice and friendly and said they put this bread out on the shelf every 10 minutes and sure enough they do! I appreciate that.

What more needs to be said than fresh baked bread? Nice little neighborhood market that has an assortment of items including fresh half baked bread. Staff is friendly, store is clean.

The garlic artichoke bread is always warm, flaky, and full of flavor. Grab a log of Harley's Farms goat cheese, a surprisingly lovely table red wine, and whatever fresh, seasonal produce they have in store that day, take yourself to the beach a mile down the road, and bask in the glory of the rural California coast

They got me at chilaquiles. So hard to pass them up on a menu. I was a little disappointed when I got my plate, however, mostly because the serving size of the star of the dish, the chilaquiles, seemed small for this dish. They come with a "side" of beans, which I expected to be in its own bowl, but they were not, and took up most of the plate. No big deal. And they were very good. As were the chilaquiles. Tart and not-to-spicy green sauce that covered the thick and crispy-soft tortilla chips. The eggs were perfectly cooked over-easy and I popped one right on top of the chips so the yolk would spill down. I was happy despite the size. W ordered the portabello sandwich, which comes with blue cheese. He expected it to be served on their home-baked bread, but it was served on a soft brioche bun (the menu is unclear on this point). He didn't like the sandwich at all. Said it tasted like it was basted in butter. Since he had only a couple of bites, I swapped with him so he'd have enough food. I thought the sandwich was good, but think the blue cheese was a bit strong. Maybe that's why he didn't like it. The side salad was nothing to write home about, and seemed like they used bottled balsamic vinaigrette. It had the thick texture from a bottle. Service was just ok. Barely got a smile out of our server. So, knocked a star off for that. And average meal, knocked another star. Ambiance is nice. If I were only reviewing the baked goods, five stars!
