We spent a week in a rental at the beach here and this market is the only one in the area. Typically when that is the case you know you're gonna pay a convenience fee and you accept it but I thought the prices here were really reasonable. The market is bigger than it looks and has a good selection of items. We came here three separate times during our stay and they always had what we needed....Toothbrush, razors, cold drinks, sandwiches, snacks and they were just a 5 minute walk from the rental. **Side note in case anyone is searching reviews looking for a bathroom** I was outside one afternoon with our dog waiting on the bench in front for my husband to grab me a drink and a car full of young ladies pulled up doing the potty dance and rushed in. There are signs that say "no public restroom" and I guess staff adhered strictly to it because they came out panicked and still squirming. I told them I wasn't from the area but there is a park across the street and although it's a little hidden, there is a porty potty on the East side. They thanked me and ran off and later thanked me again when I saw them in town. If we stay in Stinson again, I won't worry about overpacking because this market has what you need....except a bathroom! read more

Good in a pinch. I stopped here before a hike, and i was hoping for more sandwich choices. They had turkey sandwiches and salami sandwiches. It is kind of a small place, so I think having only a few choices is reasonable. It looks like a good place for sundries, a few groceries, and snacks. The cashier was polite. read more

Racist owner/manager/proprietor. Upon arrival to the storefront we were immediately bombarded by a gentleman washing his car that lives upstairs. "Hey you can't park here. This is only for market customers." The signs are clearly marked and was no need for the redundancy. We were INDEED customers and had no intentions of clogging his precious parking lot longer than we needed to. We are respectable looking POC's in our mid 30's and he treated us like we were the scum of the earth. read more

This is such a quaint, cute little market. I had to stop out in front. I had to double check also because all the curbs were painted blue, which made me think it was only for handicapped people. But then I noticed the markets iconic colors and realized they painted everything blue, so you would only park in those designated parking spot while visiting the marketplace, and not other restaurants/establishments. I was surprised to find an array of different types of food, as well as a handful of gluten-free items, and even some vegan items that I love to eat! I was highly impressed with their local organic coffee as well! They also had a quaint little pop-up coffee shop in the front of their establishment, but it takes cash only. Sadly, I only had credit. But there was a handful of fresh fruits, odds and ends for different snacks on the beach, as well as wine, cheese, and fresh fruits! I was thoroughly impressed with all of their local products, as well as their ice cream! Lol it was a bit too cold to buy any but still impressed that they had nondairy ice cream's in their little freezer!! Stinson beach market saved my group's hiking trip because this was the only store in the area that had ponchos in stock. It had rained really unexpectedly and we came unprepared without umbrellas or rainjackets. When we asked around, every business had pointed us to this store and we were in luck! Each poncho was about $10 and they are pretty large and can cover you and a backpack easily. FYI: They took apple pay which was really convenient, but they don't take Amex. They also don't have bathrooms inside but there are porta potties outside across the street. read more

This beach is beautiful. It's my favorite one thus far in the Bay Area. And I really like the hikes around it.

I love this place. They have just about everything you need and literally the best fresh bread in Marin County. They have excellent fresh meat, local eggs and a great selection of local cheeses and fresh produce. They are friendly and welcoming. Given the location, prices are reasonable. If you want Costco prices, drive to Costco. I enjoy and appreciate this little market. I encourage you to support them. With out this market, Stinson Beach would not be nearly as nice. read more

I parked in front of the market to grab an ice cream cone for me and my family on the main road and the guy comes out and says I can't park there. I see the curb is painted yellow. I don't even think it was painted yellow by the city, I think he did it himself. Then on the wall to his store is a sign that's so faded you can't read the bottom with phone numbers, that states "Customer Parking Only". Mind you, the parking in on the PUBLIC ROAD, not any sort of parking lot owned by the store. I told him I was just going to get ice cream for 3 minutes and he questions why I put a sun shade in my windshield. Cause it's 85 out even at the beach and I always use my sunshade is why! He says "why didn't you park in front of the ice cream shop"... and I say "cause there's no freaking parking there, and I was driving Northbound and the spots are at an angle for Southbound traffic". I ignored him, got my ice cream and left. Mind you, this was a weekday and they had plenty of room in front of the store. I know where I WON'T be going for snacks and treats when i'm visiting the Stinson area. read more

I was up for the day and they had a sign outside that advertised sandwiches, salads, veggie wraps and kombucha - all great to go options for a day on the beach. However, I walked in and they literally had none of those things? They mostly had alcohol and fresh produce like a normal grocery but, as a beach town, probably not what most people are looking for. This nice little store which is also a local landmark of sorts has just about anything you might need on your way to the beach. Prices are okay, although I thought the wine selection and prices could be a lot better. I know you don't have to make as much of an effort when you're the only game in town, but with that, it could be even better. Public restrooms would be nice although I guess everyone would use them. Then again, most gas station mini-marts are like that nowadays and guess what...people buy things when they come in to use the bathroom. What a concept. Parking is very tight too although I lucked out and got a space right out front. Yelp asks below if there was outdoor seating. I was not allowed to enter the store, because I was with two other people. Initially I let the two others of my party go inside while I waited for someone to leave the store so I could enter and buy my food. When I did so, I was told again I still couldn't come in, even if I paid separately, just because the two people I was with were already shopping. Several other people were allowed in the store ahead of me and several people had left the store and still no entry allowed for me. First of all, Stinson Beach Market is the only game in town as far as GROCERIES, so we have to be grateful that there's a place to grab something / anything to knosh or imbibe. And yes, from t-shirts to turkey sandwiches and soft drinks to sour candy, they won't disappoint. Generally, you expect the people at a place like this to be kind-hearted locals who are gracious to the out-of-towners who willingly pay inflated prices. But sometimes, as happened to us recently, you get a little DELIVERANCE attitude. We went in, needing more than anything else, some CASH, and we knew, Okay, we have to buy something to make this work, so we shopped around, found some Bread and Peanut Butter (for our camping trip) = $11.00. At our own micro-climate hyper-inflated market, they have trained us, by always asking, "do you want any cash with that?" . . . so, I admit, we weren't super aggressive about asking for cash. The tall, taciturn, grey pony-tailed dude, told us our Bread and PB total, so I sheepishly had to ask, "Can we get some cash with that" . . . You'd think, I just pee'd in his pool. He exhaled some deep exasperation, then said (this not to an unruly, unwashed anarchist, but to a polite, paying customer) "You could have TOLD me that" Wow. Huh? He had to cancel the transaction and run the charge again, OMG. I'm so very sorry. Not. There was no one in the store but us. Moral of the story: Small town groceries can be really cute but beware! A decent place to grab some snacks or beer before hitting the beach, but pretty pricey. Guacamole and a bag of tortilla chips came out to over $10. Ouch. If I'd purchased the same thing from my corner store at home, it would have cost like $4 less. I don't think Stinson is remote enough to justify that kind of a price hike. Also, their sign acts like they have a deli or something, but they totally don't. They have some deli looking food under heat lamps and in the fridge (a few sandwiches and wraps) but they look kind of gross. If you're looking for a sandwich or salad, head across the street to The Lunch Box. Because of the priciness, I would recommend bringing in as many snacks from home as you can. Only stop here for things you absolutely need. Also, if you're charging me $10 for chips and guac, the least you can do is allow me to use your freakin' bathroom. read more

Hello Stinson Market! Thank you for that warm welcome to your friendly Beach town. We rolled in 5 min before closing and needed something for dinner. The woman at the counter warned us (and the 3 other scrambling patrons) "we are closing very soon." Fair enough. Newly arrived with a sick son at the rental we were, nevertheless, pretty fast at scanning and putting in our basket. 1 min later "the store is closing in 30 sec. Line up at the register now." We were in line trying to see if we could still find something we could eat within arms reach.. "Stop shopping now." Wow. It was exactly closing time. And we dropped 60 bucks on one bag. So Stinson Beach Market - you are the only game in town. Having worked someplace like that I can say - it comes with a little bit of responsibility. I personally think you can do a better in the hiring department. You are the closest store but I will not be paying you to be rude to me. Google Express is mighty handy. I thought this was a very friendly, thorough little local store. It's opening earliest on the weekend, and they serve up fresh espresso drinks outside for those of you who can't do without. The latte I got was strong and delicious! The store inside is small and maze-like, but it's also well-stocked. I can't remember what I went in there for, but I walked out without buying anything because I was so overwhelmed, really. There were a lot of things I wanted, but most of all I wanted my latte, so I had to go back out of the store for it, then didn't go back in. My friends went there several times for things and were always pretty happy with the fact that they found it there. yes, it was a little pricey, but what are you gonna do? read more

A small but not tiny locally owned landmark has-everything grocery market, the only one, in Stinson Beach. Produce, ready-to-eat, etc., is not bad but could be better. Some random townie products and trinkets. For some reason it reiminds me of the Colorado Rockies. A good place to: a) meet and gossip with locals about the important issues of the day (neighbors' noisy mufflers, bird watching, whose dog got out), plus if you're into that sort of thing Stinson Beach is inexpensive and a litle boho as beach towns go so Beckers' gets its share of barely-adult regional tourist slackers in bikinis and muscle shirts poking at the underripe melons and bananas. read more

As the only grocery store in Stinson Beach, it's great to know that there's a decent size of variety of products inside the tiny store. However, as expected, it's pretty expensive! Beers are priced $2-$3 more than in the city, and meats were definitely far more pricey than if you bought somewhere else. If you are vacationing in Stinson Beach and have a place with a kitchen-I would buy everything before hand and bring it over. This place is great if you want to buy a few extra things, but don't try to do all your shopping here! read more

Great place to go to pick up anything you may have forgotten. There was a lot of pre-made food items that you could reheat or cook. It was all pricey but there was a lot of variety.
