After hearing that our friend had a great experience, we decided to work with Eagle Inspections…read moreourselves for our first-time homebuying process. We had the opportunity to work with Chris in our property. The entire process was seamless, from booking an appointment, the invoice, and the day-of procedure. Chris arrived early to capture the exterior documentation (i.e., front/back entrances, roof, facade) and greeted my partner and I with warmth and good humor. We examined each part of our future home, and Chris was very helpful with answering our questions and sharing context when weren't familiar with certain issues. It's clear he was knowledgeable and reassured us that we would be in good hands on closing day. After the inspection, you receive an in-depth report with assessments on the areas of improvement, concerns, and general status reports. I think he did a great job "looking for trouble," keeping us notified of how to be proactive should any maintenance is needed. Eagle Inspections was great to work with, and should definitely be considered in any home-buying process.

I recently had two disappointing experiences with my "first time home buying" inspection service…read more The first inspection for the new home indicated everything was fine, but after taking my contractor he discovered serious electrical and roofing issues, leading to my cancellation and a loss of $1,000. I gave the company another chance for my next inspection, where a different technician completed the job in under half an hour, assuring me everything was okay. However, after moving in, I found that the water line is missing its metal lid, the HVAC system was missing a pump that caused a flood in my basement and I had to hire a plumber for drainage issues. After spending $2,300 total with "Eagle Inspection", I realized I should have invested in inspection training instead. When I contacted the company about my concerns, I was promised a callback but never received one. I wouldn't recommend this company unless you already have inspection knowledge.

I had a very negative experience with Steve, unfortunately. I will try to be balanced, so will list…read morethe pros and cons here so that you can make your own decision. Pros: Included useful photos in the report regarding where to find meter and other shutoffs. He did test appliances to ensure they were working as specified during the inspection He was timely and provided the report via email CONS: Unfortunately, Steve missed multiple repair issues (roof approaching end of life, severe wood rot in exterior areas) that were readily apparent to contractors I consulted around the time of the inspection. These repairs were quoted at 4-5 figures each based on contractor estimates. 3) caulking was missing or failing in multiple areas that are extremely prone to leaking in bathrooms. Steve failed to mention that these areas should be re-caulked ASAP. This is a cheap repair, but can cause massive damage if left ignored over time. I feel should have been pointed out since this issue does not require expertise in tiling/bathroom renovation to identify. 3) Steve did NOT use a thermal camera or moisture meter; maybe this has changed since the time of my inspection. This can present a serious issue, as expensive repairs can be missed without the use of these tools. My understanding based on hearing from other homebuyers' experiences is that good home inspectors are expected to have these tools on hand. As a result of my experience, unfortunately, I cannot recommend NPI inspection services.

Steve Ballasy of NPI Montgomerycounty is by far the best experience I have had. Very professional, thorough, patient, flexible to suit special requests, and gives a speedy delivers of a high quality inspection report.
