I heard from my dry cleaning gal (from NY) that Billy Twist was THE place to go. So I took myself to lunch. I tried their vegetable korma and buttery naan. The portion was huge, and I assured myself that I could not possibly eat all of the food that was brought to me. I did! It was absolutely delicious. Savio, the owner brought me a cup of their lentil soup on the house. Mmmm for those of you who don't know, lentils are full of micro, nutrients, really good for your gut and your health. I will most definitely be back, this time with my husband. The restaurant is clean and orderly, but I understand in the evening there are long lines to get in. When I signed up on Yelp which seems like a century ago, I had to fill out a profile and one of the questions was: "If you had only one cuisine for the rest of your life what would it be?" I answered, "Indian." Having been in Manhattan for 30+ years, I ate in quite a lot of Indian restaurants and wherever I went around the world, I did the same. So when I moved here more than a decade ago, I was very disappointed in the Indian restaurants in the area-- until Bolly Twist came along. It reminds me of being in Manhattan or London, or Sydney AU. The aroma of the spices when you walk in is so wonderfully fragrant! My husband and I just discovered it last Friday and we've already been twice! The Gobi Manchurian was a lovely spicy appetizer of breaded and fried cauliflower in a nice hot sauce. My wife's Saag Paneer was made mild for her taste preference. She totally enjoyed the dish. My entree was Chicken Vindaloo. Yummy and spicy hot, which I love, it brought a layer of sweat to the back of my neck. We enjoyed our leftovers for lunch the next day. My husband and I love Indian food and were sorry to see our favorite place close during Covid. However, imagine our delight to find familiar staff faces upon walking in the door here! We made a 45 minute drive to indulge for lunch and were not disappointed. We each had the lunch special with supplied soup on down to dessert. The food offering was varied, plentiful and amazing. My new favorite dish is the cabbage poriyal, though the Gobi Manchurian was a close second! We are looking forward to having dinner here one day soon to explore the varied menu. read more

Once again, you need to know how to find it (A theme in most of my reviews). Went with a good friend who has spent considerable time in most parts of India and lived in London for many years. He is a certified curry expert. We had tried another place in Stuart previously and left disappointed. Then we tried Bolly Twist. That being said, wow, is the best word. Restaurant was spotless and service was well above par. Tables were set with proper presentation and prior to dinner service, heated plates were set forth. Munji (sp), the owner, is charming and just generally a delight. The Phaal curry was spicy enough to sting but still enjoy the multiple layers of flavor. For sure will make the return trip. My partner and I went here after reading some of the reviews, and we had good expectations. Holy moly, the food blew us wide open, in the best way possible. We started with a hot masala chai and mango lassi. The mango lassi was decadent, not too sweet, perfect texture and sourness from the yogurt. The chai was surprisingly tea forward, which was refreshing, and they served it at the perfect temperature for drinking. For an appetizer, we ordered their vegetable samosa. Delicious! They brought out a papadum with several sauces, and we used the leftover sauces on the samosa. We also ordered chicken biryani and mathi malai as entrees, with garlic naan. The biryani was a level3 and would have been absolutely perfect at level2 heat. It just had a few heat pockets that were overwhelming, at least for these two white boys. The mathi malai was creamy, slightly sweet, and had the perfect amount of spice. The garlic naan looked like it was cooked in an actual tandoor. We left with some food to go, and we'll certainly be coming back. The ambiance is very casual, and homey, and the owner was a sweetheart. Kitchen staff and servers were also lovely. The ownership is the previous ownership of India Palace in Stuart (closed) and Taj Indian in Port St. Lucie. We stopped by for lunch and had the non-vegetarian thali which is a small divided tray with white rice, a tandoori chicken drumstick, half naan, chicken dish, salad, vegetable dish, and a chick pea dish. The chicken dish and vegetable dish is different everyday. Today they had chicken tikka masala and eggplant/potato curry. The thali also came with desert and todays desert was rice pudding. We also ordered the samosa chaat. The food flavor was actually very good. Most Indian dishes are eaten with rice or naan and in this thali did not have enough rice or naan to the proportion of curry. We ended up ordering 3 additional naan for which we were charged $5 per naan. The most upscale Indian restaurants in New York City don't charge $5 per naan??? Our server was also very poor. Not once did he return to check on us or to refill our drinks. Although we have an Indian heritage, we were being reverse discriminated as he was putting more of an emphasis on the American customers. We had to call him and and ask for refills and also had to ask for boxes. We were finally given our rice pudding desert and unfortunately was basically sugar milk with boiled rice. The most disappointing thing was when we received our check. Everything we ordered was marked up by 1 or 2 dollars. When I asked why the prices were different, the waiter said the higher prices were due to the Covid pandemic and they could not update the prices on the menu. I found this very disturbing as many restaurants are now putting their menus on their website and putting QR codes on the tables so that the customers can scan the code and view the menu online. With this method the restaurant doesn't have to change their menu or even have menus since the customers can view the menu online. The cost to change prices online is very minimal. I am a believer that for a restaurant to be successful the most important thing is that the food has to taste good. For the most part the food was good. Unfortunately, I doubt if I will return due to the poor service and improper pricing. read more

We had the best family dinner out at this restaurant that I can remember. The food was fabulous! There were 7 of us; 6 are vegetarians. We have eaten Indian Food around the country, and been fortunate enough to enjoy it in country in India. This was the BEST food that we have had at any Indian restaurant. The Onion Bhaji & Cauliflower appetizers were spectacular. All of the Paneer dishes we ordered were perfect! The only thing better than the food was the service. The staff treated us like family and tended to our every need. The restaurant was lovely and clean, and the atmosphere was bright and lively. We were in on a Tuesday night and despite most of the tables being full, we did not wait at all really on any of our food. We cannot wait to go back! read more
