Terrible!! My wife and I ordered the meen something (fish) and we got cold fish and thawed curry. My wife was particular not to eat the cold fish off the refrigerator so with no other choice asked for a return for Kadai paneer. Hold your breath... we got Kadai paneer already.... It was so hot made of both hot red and green pepper. Never eat (tried ofcourse) anything so hot in my life... There is a history. We have been to this place many years ago and had a bad experience. But we were once a quarter visitors at their Framigham location and it was alright actually very good, until they closed it down. I've come here countless times for the lunch buffet with friends. The lunch buffet is a great deal at $11; the raita (yogurt sauce) is really fantastic with the hot curries, a cooling and zesty counter point. The kheer is also nice and milky, fragrant with green cardamom. The only reason I give Bollywood 4 stars instead of 5 is that the one time I came for dinner, I realized that the dinner menu is over priced and the portions aren't very generous. I worked all day so my bf treated me to dinner so I can relax and unwind. It was delicious as always here. The service started out slow, with the water offered pretty late after we sat down. Such a tease having cups at tables without water. And again - tastes weird drinking out of the metal cups so I ordered some sweet lassi and my bf got the mango one. The lassies were so good! Now I jave no idea what I ordered but it was a vegetarian dish in what tasted like a butter sauce. Not too much flavor, I got it with medium spiciness and there was an after burn. That's okay! Still great with Bollywood nan. It had potatoes and spices with maybe herbs and we ended up ordering 2 servings of it. So yummy. My bf got grilled lamb kabob, it was on a sizzling plate. He liked it. I don't like lamb too much so according to him, it was good. Now the reason it's getting 4 stars this time instead of 5 when I last reviewed it is because the trio of sauces that accommodate every meal were super late. As in... Clean, upbeat atmosphere. Cafe style with a bar. Splashes of Bollywood theme support the name. Waited on by multiple people. Not fast service for those going in hungry or just like to cut the chit-chat and get down to the business of eating. Cordially-oriented staff was all male the night I went. Menu has a lot of choices and descriptions were good especially for people like me that aren't experienced in ordering Indian Cuisine. Being a fan of spicy food I liked the dishes I ordered. The water was served in copper/steel cups gave it a metal taste but I ordered some sweet Lassi to compliment my food anyhow. Will definitely return to this restaurant. This was the first time I've tried indian cuisine. I was pleasantly surprised. I ordered from the menu instead of having the buffet. We ordered Vegetarian Samosa which are homemade turnovers stuffed with lightly tempered and seasoned diced potatoes and peas. DELISH! We also tried the Meat Samosa, which again is a homemade turnover with stuffed fresh minced lamb. Both were very good, I'd say if they could marry the two, I'd be in Samosa Heaven! For our entrees we choose Lamb Tikka Kebab Masala, this is marinated cubes of lamb baked in a tandoor and folded into a delicately creamy tomato sauce. I love lamb but found this particular dish a tad stringy most likely the cut of lamb that was used. The sauce was good and didn't pack a punch until swallowed! :) The second dish we had was a chicken dish that was cooked to perfection ( I believe it was Chicken Korma which is boneless chicken cooked in mild, rich almond and cream sauce) This made my mouth water! Along with our meal we shared an order of Basmati Rice (saffron Basmati rice) DELICIOUS as well as Garlic Nan (Leavened handmade bread with a touch of garlic, herbs and spices & baked in a clay oven) and Keema Nan (Leavened shite bread stuffed with minced lamb, green peas, & baked in a clay oven) Both of these were superb! The service was great and everything in the menu was self explanatory, no need for guessing what you're eating. We didn't finish our meal and brought home the left overs. I went here last night and it'll be the last time. I'm seeing mixed reviews here and I think it may be because of the staff at the certain time of day. I checked out the Bollywood Grill last year for the lunch buffet and the service was excellent. My experience there last night was the complete opposite. After my girlfriend and I were seated, we waited over 10 minutes before a waiter approached our table. That same waiter, I saw standing in the back doing NOTHING before he came over. The place wasn't that busy and I saw 3-4 waiters just hanging out. Our server had no personality whatsoever and never bothered checking with us during the meal. (I should have left no tip instead of a low tip). The cups - their water is served in copper cups and gives it a copper taste. Finally, just from overall observation of the place and how it runs, I'm not sure if their utensil sanitizing procedures are up to standards. I'm not certain if it's from the utensils or from the food, but after I left the restaurant I started feeling a little sick. This morning I woke up with a cold and stuffy nose and I'm pretty sure I caught it from something at my table because I work in retail and interact with hundreds of people daily and I haven't gotten sick until I ate at Bollywood Grill last night. read more

Had a craving for Indian cuisine so went to India Cafe but packed so crossed to Bollywood. The buffet was10.95 pp. Service was great, food ok. The chicken biryani was uninspiring. The chicken kofta ok, the pakaroras dry and small. The chapati was soggy..everything seemed kind of greasy. The bathroom smelled so bad I felt sick. Another odd thing, there were 6 people all around that weighed easily over 300 pounds. On the plus Mom loved the curry goat. Again the waiters were great. Would welcome recs for other spots to dine. The lamb korma is absolutely delicious. It's very tender and the sauce is just great over basmati rice. Oh, and they have a full bar.

I have ordered chicken korma there for years, but it never looked like the one I was served tonight. Normally, it's a spicy, creamy sauce, colored by turmeric. Tonight's was reddish looking and tasted like there were tomatoes in it. I asked the waiter if they had changed the recipe or chefs. He said no. I am not convinced. Ordered lamb Rogan Josh, plain nan, and Pakora. The nan bread was straight out of a store bought pack, there's no way that thing was made fresh. I have had these in London, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee, Boston, New York, and let me tell you this was poor. The Rogan Josh was salty as all hell, tasted like Pataks jarred sauce with extra spices in it, the lamb was very, very tender though, no tomatoes to be seen. The pakora was decent, the spiced onions were in a gelatinous sauce I couldn't eat...... disappointing, and for a price tag of $26 I can't say I'll be back. For anyone not familiar with how Indian food should be I can see why they get away with this but trust me this is Indian fast food at best, it;s not the real deal. We were around this place and thought since Parvin Gill is associated with Bollywood Grill lets try some food. Unfortunately this is one of the worst experiences. Food was good but the service needs improvement. Indian restaurants usp is the pudina/mint (green) chutney. But guess what, the said they are running out it, seriously guys. Naans were all burnt and we asked for fresh ones and then they realized something is wrong. But the good thing is they got fresh naan. Im vegetarian and asked them to refill the mattar paneer it was just mattar and literally no paneer. They filled it in pretty late. Just to let u guys know we are here right at the peak time and its not even as crowded due to MLK day. Saag is wrongly named as Saag Paneer. Cmon guys. The worst thing was plates were dirty too. While I have always wanted to try, and fall in love with, Indian food, the journey into discovering all this cuisine has to offer--alone--has been daunting. Thankfully, my dear friend Jeffrey offered to join me at Bollywood Grill a few weeks ago so that I could start exploring what Indian food is all about. I tried a dish of sauted okra and tomatoes while J tried a super spicy number made with cauliflower. Also enjoyed some tasty, tasty na'an, of which they have a wide variety of. The Bollywood Grill itself is a really endearing place--it's got Indian/Bollywood movies stars inlayed in all the tables, a sort of fancy air hangs around the place--bolstered by the folded napkins and heavy metal serving platters. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The whole place is very warm and comfortable--could be good for a casual dinner with friends or maybe for dinner with your new significant other and their parents who are in town. I'm glad I have started easing myself into the vast world of Indian cuisine--particularly by way of the Bollywood Grill. Will definitely be going back! read more

I ordered take out today from here for the first time in a couple years because our usual spot in Westborough was closed due to the pandemic. I must say, Bollywood has definitely gone downhill since the last time I had them for sure. Food was just soso. I requested chicken curry and fish curry with medium heat. There was absolutely no heat and the flavor was just off. Their chicken tikki masala is a complete joke. The color was super red compared to others I've had and tomatoey. Chicken briyani wasn't bad, chicken was just dry. The garlic naan and the white rice were probably the best dishes, but that doesn't say much. I have pretty high expectations for Indian food. My favorite thing was the garlic naan. We had the veggie samosa which had a hard crust and little flavor. We ordered the chicken tikka which was good but had a slightly metallic taste- maybe they used canned tomatoes and did not cook the sauce long enough. Lunch buffet was not the tastiest around had better at every other Indian restaurant. I got there at opening 1130 and the food was cold, looked like it was reheated from leftovers. The bread was terrible looked like a tortilla and not naan bread. The tandori chicken was smelly and dry. The fried vegetables were cold and dry. Very disappointed and on top of that the waiters just didn't give a shit and they were eating lunch. They acted pissed when I came in to interrupt their lunch. Worst Indian food I had so far, there are many great Indian restaurants in the area that have outstanding buffets. Definitely wouldn't recommend this one. read more
