Fantastic and I'm not a huge fan of this kind of food's flavor profile. But I absolutely am with Bollywood. It bums me out to see empty seats especially when there are amazing dishes, kind folks, a clean and nice spot and EXCELLENT lunch specials. I'm down for the Hbg high end fare at 5-6 out of 10 Hbg spots some of Feb time, but for a budget conscious person, I hate trying to keep up with tourist prices. This is a solve with just great food! I know a lot of people are turned off from the location because it seems to be one of those "spots "that has hit or misses but this is definitely a hit so I hope it stays!! Went here for a 10 person bday party recently and it was amazing! Brought our own wine, we all shared delicious food dishes...2 of the couples had never had Indian food before, and they will now be returning as regulars! We have eaten at Bollywood with friends and have had take-out. Both times the service was quick and food was delicious. They offer brown rice which is a plus! Bollywood was a very happy surprise for something totally different in Healdsburg. The Goat curry, veggie pakora and garlic Naan were delicious and the service was excellent. This would be a five almost anywhere else, but a town with an amazing range from Single Thread, Vallete, Dry Creek Kitchen, BD to Guiso, Journeyman & Lo & Behold it's hard to give 5 stars but this is a really welcome change of pace that's a great value. We ordered the Meat Lovers Kitchen Platter for two and it was plenty of food for two. Great deal as well. The Tandoori appetizer chicken was tender and flavorful. My favorite was the Shrimp Vindaloo! Cant say enough good things. BK masks as a desultory take out in a forgettable strip mall, but our meals were delicious. We started with a vegan platter of assorted appetizers served with two sauces, all delicious. I had coconut shrimp for an entree, Jen had nav rattan korma, and we shared a garlic naan. All perfectly delicious. Washed it down with a Stella Artois. The owner came over, introduced himself (well, he didn't actually introduce himself, but I assume it was the owner), made nice, and chatted a few minutes. Wonderful meal! read more

Insanely long wait for distinctly average Indian food. Wait staff were minimally helpful, waited 50 minutes for food, despite restaurant being nearly empty when we arrived. Wife's chicken was over cooked. My shrimp vindaloo was about as good as frozen Indian food from Safeway. Naan bread was not right either. One of the best butter chickens I've ever had ( ordered medium spicy and it was spot on) , loved the spinach cream cheese naan ( mostly 'cause the kids dig that, but they do a proper plain naan that I love also) , and it goes well with both the yogurt sauce ( raita) they gave me and the butter chicken. I did have to wait over an hour for the order to be ready to picked up by Doordash , but they're still new and seemingly understaffed, so I recommend is ordering way early - at least an hour in advance or more. If the rest of the food is as good as the butter chicken ( and if you're still always getting chicken tikka you're missing out ; this is the next level of that and so much smoother and better) , then I can't wait to try the rest. It's a bit pricey but the portions are good, and everything is pricey these days. (You can kiss inexpensive food goodbye while we 'build back better' . Yeah. Sure. In the mean time, while your socialist gov't promotes the worst inflation in decades, spend a little more and enjoy yourself while restaurants can still afford to operate. ) I'm just glad the people at Bollywood have taken a chance on high rent in Healdsburg and the hope that the community will rally around them which I, for one, will absolutely do whenI can afford to eat out which used to be a hell of a lot more often than in the last 2.5 years. So good news first ... Food is delicious! It just takes foreverrrrrrr! Unfortunately the bad news is a lot! There is 1 waiter for the entire restaurant and does not speak English. I can tell he was very confused and we had to do a lot of pointing on the menu , but it is what it is... you just hope that your food will be coming soon? We arrived on Friday at 5:30 and did not leave until 8:15!! I just think they are incredibly short staffed, and weren't really prepared to open quite yet! We witnessed at least six people leaving and the amount of people that want to do takeout was overwhelming for them. As you walk in, there is no one to tell you to sit down, give you a menu, you just need to manage this yourself and "hopefully" someone sees you. There was 2 men working in the bar answering the phones . dealing with takeout but it seems the people that were sitting at the bar, get their food a little bit quicker... And we when ordered it was impossible to communicate. We try to keep things very simple and not ask a lot of questions , but it was definitely a struggle. I think if you go "early" and maybe do takeout it'll be a better transition. Even when we tried to get the check , He charged us $60 for a bottle of wine which was listed as $39, he made the adjustment and took our credit card, but still did not run the credit card... had to walk up to the bar area and make sure they charged our credit card.. Overall, it was a chance we took knowing they are new, but it's a long and frustrating wait. It was so confusing and the lack of communication , is awful! I don't believe it's going to work here, unless they just want to do takeout and maybe lunch? We ordered samosas, the spinach stuffed nann ( it was okay ) The coconut chicken, tiki masala, curry chicken and a few naan breads...super good! The coconut chicken was the family favorite. We tried to order one of their specialty rices, And he brought basic basamati rice. I hope they make it there! I know there's such a turnover of restaurants in that spot! But you've gotta have at least decent service to match your good food or it's not going to work. read more
