Both came with a cucumber salad that looked pretty tattered and old. Also, we received tzatziki. I stumbled upon Falafel Hut while waiting in line for Russian River Brewing, and I'm so glad I did. The place was open, the food looked incredible, and I decided to step inside and order a chicken kebab plate to-go so I could keep my spot outside. The server let me know it would take about 15 minutes, and it was absolutely worth the wait. The chicken was tender and flavorful, the hummus was rich and delicious, and the cucumber salad tasted great. It all came with warm, soft pita that was perfect to dip and grab pieces of chicken. Portions are large and filling, prices are right, taste and quality are delicious and consistent. Our go to orders are their lamb shank, chicken kabob or shawarma plate. We have also tried their lamb chops, lamb gyro plate and spanakopita which are delicious as well. The food always comes out quick. Every dish starts with cucumber salad, hummus and pita bread. One of the best pita bread I've had. Just so soft, warm and has the right amount of chew. The lamb shank is super tender and comes with a side of soup. The chicken kebab is juicy and never dry. We usually have leftovers. They have a wide variety of desserts too. Most times I am too full but we've had their baklava which is really good. The staff there was super nice and accommodating, and ended up helping me change & update the orders twice (like switching from wrap to pita, and making it combo meal), etc. There were plenty of seating, and there is also a nice patio area that a lot of people seemed to gravitate towards. There is water and rose water that you can try for free as well. One thing that stood out to me was the customer service, the staff was very friendly and recommended things that they thought we should try, and gave us garlic spread and roasted tomato spread to try with our meals. For the food, we ordered lamb gyro, falafel, mixed kebab plate, and a beef & chicken shawarma wrap. Everything came out great and the portions were huge. I loveeee this place. Some of my favorite food here in Santa Rosa also, the service is amazing. We decided to eat in and all we ordered was one chicken kabobs plate with rice. They gave us all of this for one meal. I forgot to take a photo of the rest of the food, but it was amazing. Also, you have to try the chocolate baklava. It is so yummy. The lamb gyro was tender and well-seasoned and they let us substitute tabbouleh instead of cucumber salad. Saffron rice was perfect and the mint yogurt sauce, a refreshing counterpoint. They use lots of fresh vegetables and herbs in Middle Eastern cuisine making all the flavors bright and tasty. The falafel looked over fried but were in fact delicious and easy to cut with the side of my fork. I couldn't resist the baba ganoush; it had a delicious grilled flavor. A generous amount of warm pita accompanied everything. We stuffed ourselves, even The Incinerator walked away sated. A shaded patio allows 30 or more people to enjoy the fresh air and breeze while inside, plentiful seating in the main dining room. Service was so kind and prompt, I wish I lived nearby because I would frequently be at the Falafel Hut. It should have been served with turmeric rice but I don't know if they ran out of it but our plate had half turmeric and half white rice seriously who serves that way and the way things were put on the plate was very unappetizing. This is my first time trying this restaurant in downtown Santa Rosa. I ordered the fattuosh salad. I am very confused by the salad as half of the olives are chopped up and the other half are whole, all of the toppings were on the bottom of the container under the lettuce. It is served with a mixed spring lettuce, which I have never seen before. Usually, in my experience it's Romaine lettuce in middle eastern salads. The quality of this spring mix is very poor and there are slimy bits throughout and I had to throw the whole thing away. I would not recommend the salad to a friend... Everything else coming out of the kitchen looked pretty decent while we waited for this togo salad. I could not eat the salad and I'm now out 20 plus bucks. 14 for the salad and I ordered a side of yogurt as extra dressing, plus tax and tip. I really wish the lettuce had been fresh and romaine lettuce at that. I was excited to try a new place. Boy are we lucky to have Palestinian food in Santa Rosa. I ordered for take out on a weekday night, and walked in to a spacious and inviting space. They have outdoor and indoor seating, kid and dog-friendly! There were couples and groups eating, and I love how so many of us know more about Palestine. The decor with olive trees, stone walls and Dome of the Rock photos just give me so much hope that Falastin will be freed within our lifetime! They also have an emergency fund so drop a few dollars or whatever you can give to help support their family in Gaza.
