So Boloon city is a Chinese take out place located in Jeffersonville NY. It's is stuck in time as I used to get take out there 20+ years ago. What is special to me is their shrimp and walnut dish. Candied walnuts and shrimp in a lovely white sauce. The ribs are so so but I take the ride from my lake house to Jeff and it's like a 20 minute ride. I will update when I try new dishes. This was not a good dining experience. We ordered takeout. When I arrived, the place smelled like stale, overused fry oil. The order was ready on time and reasonably priced. But the food was pretty awful. The broccoli chicken was weirdly bitter and coated in a gloppy, overly thick sauce. The egg rolls and the fried noodles had the rancid oil smell and flavor. We moved to the area, and after reading some of the reviews, I was hesitant to order, but I'm really glad we did. The woman on the phone was very nice and made sure to go over the large order we placed for our family so nothing got missed. Everything was good- we got a bunch of the usual "ABC" dishes- chicken and broccoli, General Tso's, sesame noodles, etc., but I noticed they have a section on their menu of Szechuan specialty dishes, so next time we're going to try some of those. My mother-in-law went to pick up the food and admired the fresh dumplings they were making in the kitchen. That's not something you can really get easily around here, so that's also a must-try next visit. Anyway, we were perfectly happy & grateful for everything we got last night. We may not live near Chinatown anymore, but at least we can get our delicious fix. read more

This restaurant used to be the best Chinese restaurant around. It has gone downhill. The last 2 times I got food there it was terrible. Egg rolls were dripping grease. The egg foo young was so greasy that I had to blot it with paper towels to eat it. Fried rice was so light in color and seemed hardly fried. When you go into the place it seems dirty. Makes me sad because I used to get food there often. The service is good but I can't say anything else good about it. read more

This is no longer Golden Dragon City. It's now called Bo Loon. I live in NYC and was vacationing in the area. The service is rude and they speak to you like you're an idiot. I ordered shrimp rolls, shrimp fried rice, boneless chicken, chicken chow mein and spicy shrimp. The boneless chicken with vegetables was ok. The shrimp rolls were bland and for some reason the filling was sweet. The chicken chow mein had no salt, no seasoning and no taste. A container of boiled chicken, celery and onions. The spicy shrimp would have been good if it weren't so darn sweet. I ordered it extra spicy and it wasn't even a little spicy. Just extra sweet. And really, how do you screw up shrimp fried rice? There's was bland, barely any shrimp and crunchy. I'm planning on buying a vacation home in the area and can say without a doubt, I will not ever be eating here again. read more

This was the worst restaurant experience of my life. Ordered the chicken chow fun for my kids and there was a dead bug mixed in. The hot and sour soup was neither and the egg rolls were gross. VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!! We ate here for several years twice a week we always got take out and the only issue we ever had was maybe something was missing....Well UNTIL LAST NIGHT!!....I has just started eating my broccoli and chicken and i had a bite in my mouth and noticed something was wrong i thought it was a piece of plastic but low and behold when i pulled it out of my mouth it was a metal strip like 3 inches long from a silver brillo scouring pad that is used for scrubbing pots and pans. I tried calling them to tell them what was wrong and that we would NO longer be eating there EVER EVER again but they just hang the phone up on me twice. Just a warning people always watch out!! If i would have swallowed that not sure what would have happened to me. I still have it i will keep it not sure if i swallowed any or not. Thank you read more

Golden Dragon City is a small family run business that I have frequented for over 25 years. They consistently offer GREAT Szechuan, Mandarin & Cantonese style Chinese food. The food is the same quality of Chinatown in Manhattan and Queens and with good reason. That is where they get their chefs from. Although it offers 5 or 6 tables where you can eat, it is typically a takeout restaurant for the locals of Jeffersonville and Callicoon. If you take the 3 hour drive, look for parking in NYC and pay a fortune for the parking, you'll see that Golden Dragon City offers the same food...without the hassle. I'm hoping for another 25 years of service to the community. Thanks to Henry and his crew for offering fantastic food in our small upstate town. read more

I've never experienced so many negative things in any other Chinese restaurant like Bo Loon City! The woman who handed me the pick-up orders was so rude. She gave the gesture and expression like I was an idiot. The Beef Lo Mein we ordered had barely any beef inside it. There were only a few super-thin small sliced beef that you can barely see and taste. The woman who was on the phone asked for my phone number when I placed the order. The only reason I can think of is that we were not live locally. I can't see the business can survive if they treat the local customers like this. Other dishes were even worse. The Wor Shu Duck was only a few slices on the top and tasted like an old rag. From the almost black color and the taste, you can never guess they were duck meat. They filled broccoli with heavy brown sauce under the duck and charged $15 for that. The Double Cooked Pork was with the same dark brown sauce and tasted so salty! For General Tso's Chicken, they put thick flour around the tiny chicken. So all you can taste were flour, not the chicken! Rude people, bad food, disgusted with this place! read more

This place has really gone downhill recently. I don't even bother getting any meat dishes from here as the chicken is poor quality (often chewy, tough, fatty) and the beef and pork are the same. They don't de-vein the shrimp and it often tastes like it has been thawed and refrozen several times. The fried rice is flavorless and dried out (do they ever make it fresh???) And their "spicy" items are mild at best. The place needs a serious cleaning and some touch ups. The only reason I give two stars is the people working there are always polite and they have almost never messed up any order I've placed with them. read more

I had eaten here a few years ago and got really sick from the spare ribs. My huabnd just recently wanted to get it again to see if maybe they have changed. Seriously, the worst Chinese food I've ever had. Living nearby, I tried about seven dishes in one night, just to see how it was. The beef and pork had the consistency of rubber and a taste like the McDonald's "Hot Sauce" you get with the breakfast burritos. I managed to swallow two or three bites after poking at them all to see if any were tender. The chicken was squishy. Despite ordering dishes from different parts of the menu, amazingly they all tasted the same. All ingredients were most likely canned, and I suspect the seasonings were also pre-blended and packaged. This is not Chinese food. I don't think it's even food. read more
