I don't understand a business that drives away new patrons. I say that due to the non-chalant service, the excruciating wait times for anyone to acknowledge us, then it took at least 15mins to get my pull tabs. When I finally ordered it took quite a awhile before the server came back to happily tell me there was no more of what I had ordered. Just a block of Sprague and didn't know it existed until a friend suggested I stop for some live music. I had about an hour to kill, so I stopped by on a Thursday evening. The outside is kind of warn, but it looks like it has been there a while. Inside is pretty spacious. I sat at the bar. Stage, dance floor, and seating was to my left and pool tables to my right. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. They had a couple of micro brews on tap along with some of the usual beers. Beer prices were extremely reasonable. Music was good, but a little loud if you wanted to try and carry on a conversation. They do have a nice outside area that is much quieter. Atmosphere is kind of an upscale dive-bar/sports bar, which is not bad thing at all! Plenty to keep you entertained. I was excited to take my son to Bolos after getting a recommendation from Trusted food lover Andy Brown. The atmosphere has a true sports bar feel but is kid friendly which works for I got a giant wiener and Christian got a classic cheeseburger . First impression was that the meal was huge. My 22" chili dog was tasty and Christian liked his. Beer selection was ok. I wanted a pale but ended up drinking Ranger IPA. Overall a great place to watch football. read more

This was the last stop on a bar hopping escapade for my wife's birthday. It was loud, with a live band keeping the crowd lively. Thankfully this place is big enough we still found room to sit and enjoy our own little celebration. We didn't get any food so I can't speak to that, but we did get our share of drinks which were all very well prepared. Staff did a pretty good job of keeping the drinks coming. The pool tables may be a little close, but not horrible. Dart boards kinda jammed in one corner, but if you grab a table next to them it is like your own semi private fun place. As I said, it was a bit loud, but it was Saturday night. I only mention this in case someone wants a little quieter venue. Bottom line, we had a lot of fun here. Wait staff is always very friendly. Food is hit and miss On St. Patrick's day they were under staffed in the morning which lead to long wait times. But they have super cheap drinks and you get very large portions for the price with the food. read more

Most people don't know about this place because they never look beyond Sprague. It's a sports "dive" bar. Don't expect the Peacock Lounge or Bistango. There's music, food, and drinks. It's relaxing. We walked in once when I first moved here and now we are regulars. The food is a lot better than I expected for bar food, I am constantly finding new favorites. They have tons of options and are pretty flexible - the pancakes are delicious! The drinks are well priced compared to anywhere else. The music can be a bit louder than necessary, and some of the band's aren't ones I'd listen to but most of the music played is great. Also, they do catering and to go orders! Along with karaoke, dueling pianos, more than one pool table and darts! Overall, this is my go-to spot. Always a special or something gong on. Plenty of reasons to give it a try! read more

I went to Bolo's with some friends last winter. I bought dinner for myself and three other friends. Everyone's dinner came out within a half an hour. My dinner came out 1 hour & 45 minutes later. In styrofoam containers and bagged up. I was told " we're closing, so ....Sorry!" Cost me $83.00 to watch my friends have dinner and drinks on me, and I got to eat mine cold when I got home. The waitress did give me a Bolo's card saying"Thanks for being so understanding" and was told it was for a free dinner at a later date. Fine! I finally went back on Saturday, Sept.18th. I told the waitress I was really hungry and asked if the Reuben was a big piled high type of sandwich? She said it was, so I ordered a corned beef sandwich (A Reuben without the sauerkraut!) My friend ordered taco's. My bill came to $37,00 and some change. Tater tots, soup and a couple of beers also. When I got my Sandwich, it looked like and tasted like a skimpy roast beef sandwich instead. The meat was bland and dark brown instead of the usual pink spicy corned beef. I asked the waitress if this was roast beef instead? She said she would go ask the cook. That was the last time I saw her. After over 25 minutes of waiting for my answer.....I just ate half of the sandwich because I was hungry. A new waitress came by and asked how everything was? I again asked if this dark bland meat was corned beef? I told her my prior waitress went to check and never came back! She came back and told me it was beef. I was unhappy. It not only was really skimpy on the meat, but it wasn't even what I ordered. Great! It came time to pay my bill and I gave her my Bolo's card. Here comes the fun! She took $6.00 off my bill with that card. ( That gave my friend my discount!) Her taco's were free!!!! As a compensation for selling me a $12.00 sandwich with very little meat in it, and not even close to what I ordered, I got an additional $1.00 off my bill. So ...... Pretty much my friend ate free, and I got a crappy sandwich. I will never ever go back there again! I have been there twice, and both times they disappointed in a big way, yet they were not disappointed to take my money for really bad service, bait and switch on what I ordered, and for ruining my night the very first time I went. I never leave reviews like this because I know stuff happens. But when both times are at my expense, and they were dishonest both times...I am done. My free dinner on my first trip turned out to be a measly $6.00 discount that was applied to my friends order. Yeah, I am done. Never ever going back! To Management, Please do not respond to my post with : " Sorry to hear of this, if you ever have a problem you can always talk to a server or manager about your experience." No you can't! The drinks where good, the food wasn't horrible, but If you are a GLBT person I highly suggest you stay away!!! It was my first, and last, time going to this establishment. I went there with a girl friend, I was back home visiting for the holidays and we where catching up. She suggested it because the serve a strong drink, so I said ok and off we went. looked nice at first, the bartender was the only one I saw working at first, so we went to the bar, ordered drinks and had a seat at a table. We where ready to order a 2nd drink and some food, I had to walk to the bar get service because no one would come back to check on us. (and this was continued through our entire visit) Our 2nd drink arrived and it was good, but then our food started to come over. The bartender was not the one who delivered out food, but another man, who I would guess was the cook, and this is when my experience turned sour. He threw our food on the table (and by threw I mean did not place gently) and said "here we go LADIES". Now to clear things up, I am a man, I even have a full beard, I think the problem was that I am a gay man. I was spending good money in this bar, and I there was no reason for me to be treated this way. I was not being obnoxious, or a bad patron, I may have laughed out loud a few times, but nothing unusual for a sports bar environment. I was very offended by this mans comments, but I didn't feel safe saying anything about it, because if someone is going to be that blatantly offensive, and discriminatory, then who knows what would have happened if I had stood up for myself. At first look, Bolo's looks like a neighborhood bar with HUGE tv screen all over the place, darts and pool and a center bar with pull tabs. The big surprise is the food. I work nearby and they brought in a menu that looked very intriguing - lots of variety and fair prices. My hubby and I went in for breakfast on a Sunday. It was pretty quiet - a couple of regulars at the bar and our choice of viewing pleasure including NASCAR, softball and reruns of Fraiser. I got an omlete and hubby got "the harley". This is one of the best breakfasts ever! Served HOT, which is wonderful. Generous portions, tasty gravy and possibly the best toast I've ever had. Served fast and friendly. When it came it was so inexplicably covered in mayo you literally couldn't see the things underneath it. Took one bite and dumped it straight in the trash. What the bar lacks in overall design and decor is gained tenfold with ample food menu, huge horseshoe bar, games and friendly atmosphere. The food is a step above typical deep fried bar food --I would call this joint a pub more than a bar. Awesome selection of apps, entrees, sweets. This place is huge, bar has two wings to it. The west side is where the interactive games reside, boxing machine, golf simulator, and a good amount of pool tables. The east side is the side that houses the stage for live music, tables and plenty of seats. The bar also has covered, heated smoking area. Bathrooms are clean, crowd is a great sampling of every group from sporty youngsters, hipsters, bikers, and just about anything else you could imagine. The bar is one of my favorite people watching venues, plus who can argue live music that sounds great? I'm a fan, I've been there twice-I wish I lived closer! read more

I have visited this neighborhood bar on a few occasions when I visit family in Spokane. I LOVE the food.. The Black Russian is my favorite sandwich and the food is consistently good. I also like the lively bartenders that never leave my glass empty and the local patrons are a hoot. The owner, Barney is always around to welcome us and we feel that he appreciates our business. Yes, it gets busy sometimes but everyone always has a smile on their face and a big hello when we arrive. Oh, and try the "Punching Game". We reserved tables for my wife's birthday party for 75 people. After being there about one hour, my 25 year old daughter (who was our designated driver) was rudely told that minors had to leave by 9:00. My daughter explained that she is not a minor and offered her drivers license to the bartender. After glancing at the license the bartender turned her head, threw her hands up in the air, and shrieked "We don't take those, I won't even look at it!" My daughter's Washington state drivers license was issued in 2006 when she was 20 and does not expire until December of this year. When you are under 21 in Washington the license is printed vertically and this appeared to be the issue. My wife and I became involved. We explained it was a legal drivers license. After being verbally abused by the bartender we asked to speak to a supervisor. We were told this was "a house rule" and there was nothing we could do, our daughter had to leave. After numerous requests the bartender got the owner on the phone and my wife spoke to him. My wife was told it was his business and his rules override Washington state rules. My wife explained it was her 50th birthday party and suggested we have police show up to verify the legality of my daughters license. The owner refused and said "Too bad". We closed our tab ($22.25 for three well drinks and a pitcher of beer) and after informing the staff and band that we would never return, took our guests to another bar where we enjoyed our celebration. Just my humble opinion but if you are going to discriminate against someone based on age, you should inform them when reservations are made or have it posted somewhere on your premises. read more

This place sucks. We arrived and paid 6 bucks to get in. We sat at a table and waited 10 minutes with no service, we moved to the bar. Sat for 10+ minutes watching people walk by without acknowledging we were there. Finally my wife tried to flag down a server and was told" I saw you sitting there hang on" in a scolding manner. I practically never leave reviews. I actually had to download the yelp app to leave this one. That is how bad my experience was. It took 20 minutes to actually get served, which required a certain amount of aggressive bar leaning to accomplish. After finally being served they gave my group the wrong drinks. The bartender Then argued when we asked for the correct ones. I asked to speak to the manager and the bartender informed me she wasn't in. I then asked to speak to the supervisor and she said that she was the supervisor and the bartender told me that was her, then refused to give me her name. I will not go back to this bar. It was horrible. F for drinks and F for service. I will spend my money in establishments that take a little pride in their work. read more
