We held my MIL's birthday party in Remedy's banquet outbuilding. Hannah and her staff were fantastic in every aspect. The food was outstanding : bruschetta, pulled pork sandwiches, Caesar Salad, Mac & Cheese (the first I'd ever enjoyed. EVER! ). We also had assorted beverages available. There were about 40 of us and many shared how they enjoyed the space we were in and the staff's friendliness and accommodations. The birthday girl was thrilled as well! I genuinely don't know what parallel universe one of the last reviewers is coming from, but my experience here has been the exact opposite. First of all, slow service? Every time I've been in, the staff has been warm, attentive, and somehow manages to make you feel like you matter without hovering. This place gives "the place you go where everybody knows your name," not "exclusive secret society," but okay. As for the food allegedly being "frozen junk"... I would LOVE to know what freezer is producing meals this fresh and this good because I'd like one installed in my kitchen immediately. I just found out they make their own cheese. Everything I've had has been thoughtful, flavorful, and clearly made by people who actually care. I have quite literally planned my day around my dinner tonight. Zero regrets. Also, moldy fruit? Stale buns? Be serious. If anything, I've had the opposite problem of trying to pace myself because everything tastes like it came out five minutes ago. What actually stands out about Remedy is the atmosphere. It feels like somewhere you want to linger. It's one of those rare spots that still feels human, not corporate, and that's probably why people keep coming back. Anyway, if this place is secretly a "private social club," then I guess I'm honored to have accidentally earned membership through the radical act of enjoying good food and kind service. 10/10. Will continue to return, bask, and eat my weight in food. Sorry to be snarky, but I have a real problem with people that nitpick and leave exaggerated reviews just to be that person. Small little gem right off the road in a spot you shouldn't miss. I chose this place bc it had a bar with back seats, low but still not a bar stool. Glad I did, the steak was perfectly cooked, rested and had hella flavor for when was expecting. Only suggestion is to filter the blended seeds out but there was just a perfect pepper kick to the end of the dressing that rounded this out well. I sat at the bar and nabbed a beer and was pleasantly surprised but they also have a good alcohol selection too. Wasn't overly bothered but was taken care of when asked. They have a cool roof top seating that I probably should have enjoyed but eh, I liked the bar and it wasn't crazy busy. That's where you come in. Good diverse menu and worth a visit. Very nice staff and servers. Got us in without a reservation and we were able to sit upstairs which is a nice patio seating. There was only one server upstairs, he was nice but a bit overwhelmed because he had to be running up and down, so he was managing 4-5 tables alone, so everything took a bit longer, but he was pleasent and we weren't missing anything. I was mostly underwhelmed by the food. I think, I just thought it would be better. The chili verde is one of the most expensive things on the menu and was kinda mid. Just really not much flavor, and the rice was overcooked by about a million. I really wished I had picked something else. We also had the wings and they were also kinda just ok. I guess I just expected it to be a bit better when you look at the menu. I had higher hopes for a nice place on Southhill, but the food and cocktails kind of let it down. Excellent location and nice servers and staff though doing the best they can. read more

We visit family in the neighborhood often and we have been to Remedy several times. I don't know what's going on here. In recent months the service has been super slow. We don't know the owners but we know who they are. They behave like it's a private social club rather than a business. We used to really enjoy the food but recently, it feels like just frozen junk that I could have assembled at home. We were excited to see the addition of some baked things for brunch and whatnot. Most recently, we had fuzzy, moldy fruit and stale buns. We always enjoy our drinks. I would love to see better service and a diverse, fresh, inspired menu. I'm hoping for better because we really love the patio. read more

after arriving for our reserved table :10 early, it was given to another couple. we waited another :20 to be seated and told food orders are running over an hour late. :30 later we finally got a drink order in and still have not been offered a food order. after being here for an hour, we were finally asked for our food order. this is in a restaurant that was about 1/3 capacity. the drinks were good, but that's the only positive experience. read more

I have driven by the place for over a year and this was my first time visiting Remedy. I had heard about a Monday special for $12 that consisted of one of their flat bread pizzas and a beer. Both were amazing. Even the edge of the pizza dry was good. Aimee, my server/bartender was great. She was helpful, smiling and she laughed at my jokes. First off Service was slow!! and every time we ordered something the waitress came back after 10 minutes to say they were out of it. Out of the beer we chose, out of rye bread for Reuben, out of flatbread for the flatbread..... however 2 people in our group were able to get the last flatbreads and it was the only redeeming quality of the dinner--The chicken pesto and a garlic cheese- very good. But the worst of all was the buffalo cauliflower- it was literally a plate of half cooked florets drowning in buffalo sauce. It was ordered first as an appetizer but took so long to get (with everyone's dinner) that there was little point to order a different appetizer. When we were finished eating, we hadn't seen the waitress in quite some time, we had to flag her down to get our check, then wait for a good 10 minutes for the check. read more

We have been trying to get to Remedy for weeks because we had read an article in the Inlander about their clams. When we finally were able to go, we were really excited. But, sorry to say, it was a huge disappointment. To begin with, the service left a lot to be desired. We ordered our drinks and it took a good 20 minutes until we got them, and probably another 20 for the main course to arrive. The cocktail I ordered was good, but small. It filled about half a small martini glass. And the clams were the tiniest I've ever seen. And not very many of them. This entree was more like an appetizer size. And the broth was tasteless! We were all still hungry so decided to order dessert, but it took us quite awhile to find a server. The desserts weren't too bad, but nothing exciting. All in all, I recommend that you stay away from this place. There are many excellent restaurants in Spokane, but this is not one of them. read more

My wife and I had lunch here on a sunny Monday, the first day of a vacation that had us fly into Spokane. It's about 15 minutes from the airport in South Hill. It's got a pleasant dive feel when you walk in and we were greeted warmly and told we could sit where we please. Inside, patio, or roof deck. We chose the deck and joined two other parties in the small sun drenched space. Not much of a view but pleasant in nice weather. Our server, Aimee, was cheery and enthusiastic with food recommendations and shared info about the area. We ordered an Hawaiian Flatbread and their weekly burger special. Both were quite good! I found this place and realized I have actually passed by it and wondered how it was based on the cute outside area. It was a black building, picnic tables and cute lights and of course a selfie looking wall with greenery. I sat at the bar and got a sparkly and just sat there pondering what I wanted. The bartender, who I later found out was the new owner, was very helpful in guiding me into deciding what to order. I was torn between the clams and wings. I chose the smoked wings in the end with the sweet chili sauce. I got it to go as well as a side salad. Both were super good and actually lasted me two nights for dinner. The sauce on the chicken had a nice honey flavor and the house dressing was delicious to dip them in. Very ranch like which is great to me. The salad was fresh and huge for a side salad. It had some sunflower seeds added in it for a great crunch. I would definitely go back when in the area. read more

We were a party of eight last night and were shocked to see an automatic gratuity of 21.8% added to our bill after taxes. Not just on the food, but also on the tax. Our server was quite friendly, but it took a while for us to get our drink order. The food was served hot and all at the same time and we were satisfied with that. But some of the dishes were prepared with a spice level so high that it couldn't be eaten. The diners are foodies and not afraid of spice.. We will not be back if for no reason other than the fact that this type of gratuity added after tax is outrageous. read more

Was okay. Maybe an off night? Food wise: Ordered side Caesar, Clams add pasta, and Harts Pasta with Chicken. Maybe our expectations were different. For "Best Selling 1lb of Clams" I expected a pound of clams. With a thicker more flavorful sauce. Received 1/2 lb at best. Sauce was straight liquid, and for being "drunken" I expected the wine taste but otherwise there was no other flavor. Caesar was good, the Parmesan crisp was a nice touch. Hart pasta was okay, sauce was overcooked which resulted it being clumpy. For the price it was fine. But not exceptional as I was hoping, as word of mouth has been nothing but exceptional. The drinks were fantastic. Our server was nice, but all the other staff seemed more "on top of it"... so maybe we came at the end of our servers shift? Wasn't super busy, but tables were full, definitely a great drink/hangout with friends spot. Ambience was good. Also... from one chef to the next, don't stand at the bar on your phone with gloves on then return to touching food with said gloves... and bread probably shouldn't be dumped directly on to the expo station :) kinda gross. read more

The fries were soggy and mini corn dogs were oddly pink. How do you even undercook a hot dog? I do not recommend the food. Drinks were good though. read more

We've lived on the South Hill for over a year-and-a-half and had driven by this very unassuming place probably 75 times. Thankfully I saw someone's review here on Yelp and realized it was an actual dining establishment (not just a lounge). With that... we stopped in to see for ourselves and had dinner and drinks. I ordered the special (it also included a local draft beer, who does that?). Both my wife and I commented that we couldn't believe what we'd been missing by not finding this little gem earlier. Everything was great. It has a really cozy neighborly atmosphere and had a "local place" feel. Seemed like most of the patrons there must be regulars. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was fresh, (not bland) and everything seemed to be reasonably priced. Good portion size too. Don't be like us and just drive by here. Stop in and give them a chance. First time a couple drinks good atmosphere. 2nd time went to get lunch around noon only to find out they only were offering an expensive brunch menu and we sat on rooftop and for a while and didn't get service. We felt like we were alone on the rooftop and nobody was servicing us up there se we ended up leaving. 3rd time we thought we'd give it 1 more chance and ordered a pizza that was probably a frozen pizza. For our 25th Anniversary we wanted to try something new. We started off by ordering the wings for an appetizer. My husband loves wings! He couldn't even finish one. They tasted so bad and we're rubbery. Our waiter took it off our bill right away, which we appreciated. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and he ordered the french dip. They both were just okay and the fries were not great! We also got the Pineapple upside down and Bread pudding to go. I was really hoping for a happy ending. I took one bite of the pineapple cake and it was horrible tasting. How can you fail so miserably on a dessert?? My mouth still has a horrible taste, just from 1 bite. I had been craving a creamy pasta dish, and I saw that Remedy has a chipotle pasta with herbed chicken and prawns. I was hoping for a good crostini to eat with my pasta, like the menu says. Unfortunately I didn't receive crostini. The chicken was seasoned well. There was no flavor of chipotle seasoning in the sauce. For $22 I was also expecting prawns as well. OH YES PLEASE. Remedy is amazing! I love the new menu, the fresh ingredients and the staff. Chef Rory, you are killing it! The new GM Bethany, also killing it - in HEELS baby! We had a group of us and we tried so many things. I am still craving the pea risotto. The fact that the chef and I share a similar obsession with the delicacy that duck is, I knew I was in for a treat. The clams were amazing too. Ugh I just need that broth in my life again! The rack of lamb was cooked perfectly. The drink I ordered - which I cannot remember at this moment but was in the coolest lil' tiki mug, super yummy. The fact that I am never on the south hill - it just made me so happy to get to try all the things. LIKE YUM. The salmon sandwich, also so good. I am just thinking of all the things we tried and remembering how luxe and delicious everything was. The spice in their curried halibut, oh my word. I reviewed Remedy in the past and it is almost bizarre how it's changed. We met friends for dinner on Saturday night and to start, there were laminated menus and napkins with a few utensils rolled in a cup on the table. It works but seemed a far cry from how the aesthetic one was. There seemed to be a hostess, a server and a couple of cooks. We ordered drinks which were fine- (mixed by our server) though having an 'margarita menu' they might use flake salt instead of table salt. When my people arrived we ordered drunken clams and cheese flatbread. The clams were tiny and at least half were empty and the loose ones were not in the bottom of the bowl. The flatbread was undercooked, pale and the cheese a big blob. My husband ordered a burger and it was fine. I ordered tomato bisque soup that they refunded as it turned to a solid sludge after it cooled a bit and was inedible, and fried artichokes that I'm guessing were frozen pre bagged commercial. They seemed like something a fast food restaurant might experiment with thick hard breading. My friend ordered fish and chips and left the thick wet breading in a giant pile in her plate. The only thing I actually enjoyed was the toast. While the food came out timely, our table wasn't bussed until we stacked everything on the table next to us. I'm hoping this summer, if we return for rooftop cocktails, they get back to where they once were. read more

I normally love this place but it was soured when I ordered my favorite chili verde. It wasn't as flavorful as usual and the three mini tortillas were not enough or even close enough to use. No problem, I asked for more with a "no problem" from the server. I got charged another $2.50 for them... I might not have minded if there was a warning, but I thought it was pretty sketchy to say no problem and then just charge me $2.50 for them. I didn't see that listed anywhere on the menu. I'm not expecting things for free, but I feel like it's asking for more salsa or something and people don't generally charge for that. Additionally, I've never seen a Mexican restaurant charge more for more tortillas to go with your food. Granted, this is not a Mexican establishment, however, I just found it to be a little petty. It is obviously the restaurant's choice to charge for little things, but if this is the sort of thing that bothers you, you might want to take a note of it. It is still bothering me. Perhaps it's the additional service charge as well that they tack on there. If you're going to raise prices, just raise the prices, don't tack on all the little extras. That does drive some people away. I will probably get over it, as obviously the money isn't the issue, it's just the nickel and diming for little things that finally drives people away. When picking a restaurant, I do tend to shy away from the ones with the "service charge". Just be transparent of what it's going to cost for the meal - it's less likely to bug customers. nonetheless, the atmosphere and beverages are nice here. I will just never order the chili verde again. read more
