Wedge salad was decent portion and tasted good, but +$9 to add steak...
J S.

The good: nice service, friendly and helpful. Food was good, not exceptional, but good. The bad: bathroom smelled like mold, I'm guessing just old ran down building. Then, $12 for a kids meal!!!! And an extra $5 for a kids drink!!!!! Never again! There are no prices listed on kids menu, and drinks are right to the side of the menu. Does not say not included, and again no prices... ugh! Husband ordered salad with his sandwich and LITERALLY 5 leafs of spring mix came out. So skimpy. Prices were high here, especially for the small portions. Location: out in the middle of no where. We will not return unfortunately.

WE stopped in for Happy Hour (t-f 3-5) and grabbed some apps and drinks. We were immediately greeted and promptly sat. This place is the clubhouse of the old Painted Hills Golf Course, and it has been 100% transformed into a chic, modern gastropub. Check it out during the late spring and summer season for a raucous and lively patio scene.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the patio. At happy hour we enjoyed spicy Rita's, bacon fat popcorn and the summer burrata. I wouldn't get the popcorn again, it was decent popcorn but only slightly bacony and not worth even the happy hour price for me. The lamb burger and fried chicken sando were perfectly cooked though and we really enjoyed the tangy goat cheese topping on the lamb burger. Our server was pleasant and there whenever we needed her. 4 stars is for QR code menus and underripe peaches served on the burrata app.

A Crafty Place to Gather! Nestled on the outskirts of Spokane Valley is the local gathering place known as Craft and Gather. A pub, a craft beer sanctuary, a restaurant and a place for kids to eat make Craft and gather a great place for everyone to enjoy. On a recent visit to the Spokane Valley area, I had a chance to eat and drink here and I had an almost perfect experience. The place was almost full on a Sunday night with some people there to drink and there for dinner and drinks. On the TVs near the bar, you could watch hockey, football or baseball games. I was sat fairly quickly at a high top near the bar and my server came to my table within a few minutes. She helped me to choose some local craft beers to try and helped me select food for my dinner. I tried their version of Burrata which came with a healthy-sized portion of soft cheese, oil-drizzled tomatoes and big slices of locally sourced toasted bread. Next up was my main course a curried chicken breast made with tender and juicy chicken breasts with a mild curry flavour. A very nice and not too overpowering dish to enjoy with a couple of local selections. There was a timing issue with my food as my main course came to the table only minutes after the burrata was served. Other than that Craft and Gather is a great place to enjoy good beer and enjoy great food.

Cheeseburger with stale bun and side salad. They replaced the bun.

We were able to be seated right away but it took our server (the bartender) some time to get to us. It was a Sunday and they were fairly busy. We ordered drinks - vodka tonic, huckleberry drop, whiskey on the rocks, and a beer. All were good. We ordered a cheeseburger with a side salad. The (good) cheeseburger was served with a terrible looking bun. I asked for it to be replaced, which they did, no problem. The salad was fresh and the blue cheese dressing tasted house made. One of us ordered the steak bites with fries. It was strange and not what was expected. The steak had been cut into quite small pieces and laid over tepid fries and topped with the sauce. We asked for fresh fries and they apologized and delivered them. The *star* was the wings! Fantastic! Large, crisp and absolutely delectable. Ambience? Inside it was quite noisy. It was raining or we would have asked to be seated outside.

Such an amazing find. Located at the old Painted Hills Golf Course is this fun spot with a beautiful outdoor space and driving range. A friend and I met up for dinner and sat outside to enjoy a beautiful spring evening and the lovey scenery. We started with the bacon fat popcorn and porky fries. Absolute deliciousness! The fries came topped with seasoned pulled pork, white cheddar, and pickled jalapeños. We each had one of their signature cocktails, The Huckleberry. Made with local huckleberry vodka, lemon juice, simple syrup, and cayenne. Perfect starters. For the entree I had the vegetable risotto with shrimp. Hands down THE best cheesy risotto I have ever had. I saved some for leftovers. My friend had the Steakhouse Burger and she couldn't stop raving. It came with bleu cheese, smoked bacon, fried onion, and ancho-chile sauce. It looked wonderful. Overall a great evening at a great location. I will be back! You should check it out too!

We love this place. The food is always good. The French dip and Cubano and the chef's kiss. The happy hour is good. Bartenders are friendly.

A true gem. Away from the beaten path for sure, but worth the ride. Great food, great ambience, and a great outdoor area for summer fun.

Sitting out on the patio during a summer rain at sunset was perfection. Food was delicious, service was great. Seriously worth the drive.

The birria is delicious and the most authentic I have had so far in any restaurant in the states. The staff is amazing. There is plenty of seating so even if it looks busy, there are still tables available. The food was amazing, the people were great, and I was excited to come back. Yesterday, my girlfriend and I planned a date night and decided to order from here again. Since we have kids, we did pickup. We drove about 25 minutes, then waited another 25 minutes because the line was packed which I didn't mind because the food was that good the first time. But this time? Completely different experience. I ordered a bean burrito with cheese... and it had no beans. Just rice and cheese in a tortilla. Then the nachos, honestly, for $27, this was unacceptable. Dry chips, unmelted cheese, some tomatoes thrown on top, no meat, no beans just thrown together with no care. It looked and tasted like an afterthought. What made it worse is the lack of accountability. I tried calling multiple times last night and again this morning no answer. Calls just ring or don't go through. I even tried calling from different numbers. Nothing. At this point, it's not even about the money it's the principle. Mistakes happen, but not being able to reach anyone or have them make it right is frustrating. I really wanted to keep supporting this place because the first experience was great, but this completely missed the mark. If you go, just be aware the quality and consistency might not be what you expect.

We were seated very quickly and they let us know it was happy hour. So there were lots of awesome deals. I started with a few drinks, only $8 on happy hour menu, and comes with two whole shots each. They were very strong, but delicious. The inside was very nice and had nice lighting and booths. I got a few appetizers to try a variety of the happy hour deals. I got calamari which came with jalapeños and it was amazing and the sauce was delicious. And the sliders were amazing and the sauce paired perfectly. For the main dishes we had fish and chips, which were very crispy which I love. They also gave a ton of sauce which is great because I love tartar sauce. The fries were a little too salty but still good, and the slaw was perfect and had an Asian style to it. I also got a French onion soup which was savory, cheesy, and perfectly salty! I thought it was delicious. The mussels were my favorite dish. The sauce was outstanding and paired very well, and the baguette was toasted to perfection. I would return to get it again. Our server was also amazing! He was so attentive and funny and super helpful. I'm definitely returning in the future, epically with the amazing deals!

Our server was very busy, handling both the bar and restaurant areas. We all started with appetizers, which we shared. Fried green beans were good, kind of spendy. The onion rings were great and the tarter they came with was nice. The mozzarella sticks were good, the marinara was cold and chunky. For meals, two of us went with their Irish Stew, salad, and absolutely delicious cornbread. Our other friend tried their Burnt End sandwich. She said it was really good. What I really wanted was BBQ turkey, which is on their online menu but not on the menu in the restaurant. It was a good experience and we'll definitely give them another try in the future.

The Mad Cow Reviewer…read more Well, color me udderly impressed! I wandered into McKracken's Irish Pub in Spokane Valley after a long day chewing cud and was greeted with the warmest "moo" of hospitality I've felt in ages. The owner clearly knows how to make everyone--two-legged or four-hooved--feel right at home. Let's start with the Guinness--cold, creamy, and poured with care. It's enough to make a bull tear up with joy (and that's saying something). The Irish stew? Hearty, rich, and packed with flavor. The cornbread is the real surprise--soft, slightly sweet, and perfect for soaking up the last bits of stew. Whoever's in that kitchen deserves a medal--or at least a salt lick of appreciation. They've got WiFi, so you can update your herd on your dining adventures, and the regulars add to that cozy, small-town pub vibe. Karaoke on Fridays is a real treat too--nothing like hearing a few pints in patrons belt out "Don't Stop Believin'" while I hum along in low, soulful moos. All in all, McKracken's is the kind of place that makes you want to settle in, loosen your bell, and stay awhile. Great food, cold beer, friendly faces--what more could a mad cow ask for? -- The Mad Cow Reviewer
