Irish Red for an Irish Redhead!
    Ed R.

Stopped in for the first time this winter for a pint and I was impressed. The bar itself was on the small size. I wish that more thought was put into bar design- the easily could have had a larger bar- that just me because Imlike to sit at the bar and the 7 seats were full- grrrr. Had a pint of the Red Ale and the Porter and both were wonderful. Had been looking forward to trying the Pilsner as advertised in their website but alas, it was not on tap. Tried the pretzels (2) with beer cheese and they were delicious and served quickly by friendly bartenders who were attentive. There was more on the limited Pub style menu that all looked reasonably priced. Will have to come back and try more!

I really enjoyed our time here. They have a decent selection of brews on tap, even have a seltzer. We enjoyed our time here, they had a very laid back feel and enjoyed the flowers and sunshine. You can sit under shade, on a couch, or in the open. Service is you sit wherever and they'll come up to you. If you're on a timeline definitely order and close out the check. Or if you're there for a while they'll come up to you throughout your time for refills.

Excellent beer and cider choices, top notch chicken wings, a decent salad with fresh tuna, paper plates, decent service. Overall, a great place to spend some time on the patio, and it is dog friendly. The flights of beer are fun - you get to try 4 different kinds, and they're all very different. I highly recommend any of the wings - they are huge and very crispy with yummy sauce. I'm eating light these days, so had the Asian slaw salad with fresh tuna - refreshing and delicious. The menu is a bit limited, but everyone enjoyed what they ordered. A great little place in town.

We stopped in for a quick beer while in the area for a wedding. The very best part is of this place is sitting out on their beautiful patio and meeting other people! I had a pineapple flavored sour that was pretty good. If I'm being honest, I don't really recommend the food. We had the pretzel, some wraps, and a salad. All were OK. We did find the service very friendly! And we played the most epic game of Jenga of our lives!

Great staff. Plenty of parking. Nice ambiance in the center of town. Lots of beer options and menu items. A must stop for local breweries while you're in town. Nice walking area with a park right across the street.

Great spot with consistently good-to-excellent beer and a wonderful outdoor deck area on which to down 'em. It's a spacious and comfortable deck with a nice perch from which to view downtown Bolton--and even a peek at beautiful Lake George if you get the right spot. The indoor area and bar are fine, though they feel tiny bit cramped, so try to get a spot outside if the weather allows (or the covered portion of the deck is available). They feature a number of IPAs, but do offer a sufficient diversity of styles. In fact, while the IPAs I tried were enjoyable, I found the standouts to be the Pinnacle Sunrise Pilsner and the Mikado's Revenge Pilsner--the Mikado flavored with hibiscus (not always something I love), but excellent--a beautiful and unique almost rose wine color. They offer flights, which is always appreciated, as is the fact that if you get a full pour, all styles seem served in appropriate corresponding glassware (e.g., tulip shaped glasses for saisons). Limited menu, but found the soft pretzel sticks excellent, with both mustard or beer cheese dipping options. Parmesan truffle fries were a bit disappointing, though--seemed like cheap parm dumped on top, and really didn't get a whiff of truffle. Overall, though, a great place to visit and drink! Enjoyed my time here so much that I will overlook the fact that I wish they sold more merch--they have an excellent logo and I want to own some glassware with it--as well as overlook the fact that they've taken the lazy corporate business tack of branding a tasty IPA as "Help Wanted" to lament their stated inability to find sufficient staff. As with all enterprises, I suggest they simply start trying paying better wages. Even if it means a slightly higher price point for their strong, enjoyable beer.

    Flights and a pint

The brewery meets all the expectations of a great place to have some drinks and food with friends and family. We sat outside and soaked in the rays with the finals days of colors left in the mountains. We had a flight of beers and some pints that paired perfectly with amazing pretzels sticks. The staff was very friendly, the food was splendid and the beers were top notch.

Super cute brewery located right in the middle of Bolton Landing "downtown" area. Loved the outdoor area where the front overlooked part of the lake in the distance and perfect for people watching. We were there on a Friday and it was really busy. We were lucky to grab a seat at the small bar inside. Wait staff was super busy and seemed understaffed as everyone was running around. online it says that the kitchen closes at 8pm but at 7:03 we were able to get the attention of an employee to order food but they said they closed the kitchen at 7.. but we were 5 feet away from the cook and he was still cooking. It was weird and disappointing as we were hungry and expecting to eat. We finished our flights and really enjoyed the beer. In the end it was a good thing we didnt eat because the inside smelled bad of cooking oil/fried oils and it got worse as they closed the kitchen. I will stress the beer was REALLY good and I really enjoyed the sours!!

What a cute place with really great quality beer. We ordered several different pints, and a flight. Every single beer was delicious. Wings were also great- cooked to perfection; crispy with the perfect amount of sauce. Our bartender was very attentive and the overall atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for! Great views of the lake. Outdoor seating is great when the sun is out.

    Carolina Pulled Pork sandwich

Great food and great staff. Very accommodating for our large group too. The soft pretzels were amazing. The sauces are okay but the pretzels are definitely top 3 I've ever had. Pulled pork sandwich was saucy and delicious. My only complaint is it's not a great spot if you're not a beer drinker (yes, I know it's a brewery). No hot drinks, no coffee, etc but otherwise great spot. They also had igloos but our group was too big for that unfortunately!

We got a nice table for two right up against these windows that display the brewery's internal workings.

Great little brewery with modern decor, great beer, yummy food, and friendly service. A must when visiting Lake George.

Good Lord. Service is so slow . I can't!!! I just can't!!! Last year we got up from our seat after 30 mins Bc nooooo one helped us. And we've been here before that attempt. This year we got a table and we basically had to fight our way to it because you just kind of help yourself. After 15 mins we had to say to a waitress "sorry! We'd love this table cleaned off!" She looked so irritated. Something like 12 tables outside and two waiters the entire time I saw. I'm currently now here 1.5 hours and still waiting for our "small bites" order we place 1 hour ago. This town has slow service! 25+ years we've been coming here. This establishment is a great addition. But for the LOVE OF GOD we need faster service!!!!!!

Great spot for a beer or family dinner.

No acknowledgment, candle, or mention of his birthday despite it being noted, so our expectations were modest. From the moment we arrived and were served cucumber water that was VERY refreshing, the Gem delivered a much better experience. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaged throughout the meal. The cocktail menu was creative and fun. While I felt the pours were a bit shallow for $18-$20 drinks, and the oversized ice cubes seemed to take up a lot of glass real estate, the drinks themselves were well-made and enjoyable. The food was the star of the evening. Everything we ordered was delicious, and it was easily one of our better meals during the trip. When it came time for dessert, we asked if they could add a candle so we could celebrate my husband's birthday. Unfortunately, the dessert station had already closed, leaving bread pudding as the only option available. While that was a bit disappointing, our server went out of their way to make the moment special by bringing over a mini mint cordial. There was still no candle, but the thoughtful gesture was genuinely appreciated and meant far more than a scripted birthday acknowledgement. The Gem struck a great balance between good food, a fun atmosphere, and attentive service. Our only regret is that we didn't have another day to try the outdoor seating area in the back, which looked fantastic. Maybe next time!

Yuck. But their single lager and single pilsner are always good/consistent. And they have one meddle/award that they are proudly showing off, and they should but guess what kind of beer it is? A Pilsner. Take the hint you don't need 17 easy to make no effort IPAs that all taste the same. Food seems like an afterthought here. It's consistently average. They make a decent pizza here, but it's always soggy. The outside crust typically is perfect, often with a light char which is nice, but underneath the cheese and sauce, which they to put too much of on and undercook it, you wind up with a soggy slice of pizza that tastes OK. I also had their poutine recently. I can live with the vegetarian turkey gravy, which tasted pretty good, cheese curds were OK but what's going on with these fries? Soggy, brown. Are they brown because they're fry oil is disgusting? Are they just cooking the crap out of these things. I can't imagine that's the case because they're not crispy at all and taste awful. Waiting and bar staff seem to be wonderful people- they're attentive, food comes out relatively quickly. Service is not rushed. Atmosphere in this place is pretty good though I would like to have the music turned up a little bit louder so it's just not background noise and so you can actually hear the lyrics or discern what song is being played. Music done right can be part of the experience. Right now it's just a soft rumble in the background and it just becomes an annoyance. There's literally been extensive research on music in your restaurant and bar and how loud it's supposed to be and the music selection. Why places like this pay absolutely no attention to that research is beyond me. MUSIC IS IMPORTANT! Treat it that way please. Ultimately, even though the food is averaged to below average, and I can't hear the music, we continue to come back here because of the beer . Imagine if they put the same effort into their menu...

I know to go early on weekdays because of the huge crowds on weekends. In the past, the pizza has been surprisingly very good with an incredible beer selection. The pie's crust also was a bit less crispy than in the past. The beer selection fell far short of my previous experiences here. They are known for their great selection of IPA's, but this time I couldn't find one close to former experiences with a fruit forward, easy and enjoyable drinking IPA. There wasn't the standard Julius on tap - sacrilege- or any IPA with a similar profile. The DIPA I tried was okay but below their standards IMHO.
