COCKROACH in the food! Extremely disgusting experience! As a customer, we were excited to enjoy delicious Bombay authentic chat food. But all your joy went for a toss when we found a dead roach in our Schezwan Dosa. Hygiene is uncompromising aspect of food. The saddening fact of a roach being able to traverse from storage containers, pans, cutleries to our tray is absolutely disturbing. Food can be tasteless, unsavory, bland but INFECTED is a new low. Bombay Chowpaty is great for few of my favorite items .. if you like to have indian style Masala Omlet (Ask for Miresh Bhai) - he will add his indian style chef flavors and make you feel like India Street in your arms. I like the taste of the parathas. The Gobi/alu parathas are best here. Although, the pickles seem to have developed a sour taste just because they seemed to have been stored for a long time. My first chat place in Dallas. I was here for the Labor Day long weekend. This place is fairly new and my friends recommended this place while I was in Dallas. The place is based on a concept of street food. I miss this kind of concept in Atlanta. We ordered chat, pani puri, pav bhaji and dosa. The paani puri pani (water) was spicy and it was too good. The pav bhaji was amazing. I never had this kind of pav bhaji in a long time. Never eaten something like this in Atlanta also. The sambhar of the dosa was too good. On of my friends had 2 cups of sambhar he was all over that sambhar. The staff is friendly and they greet you with smile. The owner also stopped by to make sure that everything is perfect and upto the standard. I don't why this place doesn't have good reviews on yelp but I would recommend this place to everyone. I liked this place initially because of the variety of options available however having been there a few times I continued to be disappointed with the quality of the food served here. The good: 1) Variety of options 2) Decent pani puri The bad: 1) The cleanliness/sanitation area needs work, period! This is a major turn off for me. 2) The owners really need to look into green disposable plates vs. the plastic-ware they currently serve the hot food; which is not only damaging to the environment but also to the clienteles health. 3) Their food is not up to the quality and quantity for the prices they charge except for some of their chaat items. Their sandwiches and chaats are overpriced for what is presented. Dahi puri is way too sweet. Sambar Dosas are below average. Pav Bhaji is too spicy. 4) Do not go within 30 min of closing time; they will rush the orders and skimp on the quantity and quality. Had panipuri, dahi batata puri , Pav bhaji and vada Pav. Pani puri had more than required salt. Dbp was bland. Vadapav was good. And Pav bhaji was good too. So I would say- for chat- specially for panipuri, go to Taj chaat house. That's the best in the city. read more

We have been to this place twice. The first time they served smelly potato in a couple of things we ordered. We were fairly compensated and we thought it might have been just an off day. The second time around, the same thing happened! I believe they are using substandard ingredients that are also past their expiry date. Eat here if you want to pay to get sick! Took the family to Bombay Chowpatty and had a great meal! Khasta Kachori chaat was amazing. Papdi chat and Paneer Club sandwich terrific! Vada pav was also really good. Bhel Puri was so-so. My son said the gulab jamun was the best ever. Can't wait to go back. Staff is super helpful too. read more

Here is why - authentic taste, the gobi paratha was fresh and piping hot, the butter dosa golden crisp not too greasy cone shaped presentation, all dips were tasty. Absolutely awful experience. We went as a group of 14 and ordered around 20 different items. Not even a single item tasted good and not even one of us liked. On top of it the customer service is pathetic. The person (lady) who was taking the order was so so rude. When we complained about the food the answer she gave was "That is how our food is" and she don't even respond properly when asked for the details, so that we can complain. Not recommended at all... This place had terrible service and low quality food. I had to ask for more quantity because I paid almost 8 dollars for a masala dosa with no masala on the inside. Finally a place which understands taste of a Mumbaiite. I am a true Mumbai person settled in California. On my recent travels to Dallas, I had the opportunity to try this place. This is the first time I saw someone serving yellow lentil with pani poori. Ordered two plates but not able to eat even one. Masala dosa is not at all good. Masala of dosa tasted rotten so left it. Worst Indian restaurant in Irving if not in Dallas! Don't know what they are trying to achieve. The place has a good decor but due to the open kitchen it is smokey and hot. Choice of food is sparse. One time just walked out and ate dinner at the Mediterranean Place just beside it. 2nd time had to think a lot of what to order as there are only few items and then among those half of the things were not available. Finally ordered a Masala Dosa and 15 mins later was told Masala Dosa was not available so had to swap it out with Special Dosa. I have never seen a Dosa with dripping liquid stuffing inside. There was not enough potato, it was full of onions and red chilli powder. I never thought Specail meant horrible. Friend Ordered Paneer Sandwitch, which full of grease and the paneer was not fresh and tasted sour. In Irving there are lot of places where they provide a lot of varierty and the food tastes good. For pure vegans both Sarvana Bhavan and Taaj Chaat House is very good. For Non Veg every restaurant is decent starting from Saregama, Astoria, Everest, Paradise, Swadeshi, Our Place and Hill Top. One of the most essential ingredient that makes Indian food really good apart from the spices is the love and care they are made with. Mexican cooks are making food here, who will run away the day he finds another job, the cashier looks like she is going to cry and the food tastes like shit. One of my friends recommended this place and I visited it. I personally found it over hyped place. Vada Pav: Very small for $3. Taste nothing great. (a little better than other places in Dallas that sell Vada pav). (The best vadapav so far in US is Bansuri Houston). Pani Puri: Very average, nothing special in this panipuri Misal Pav: Nothing great. Doesn't taste like one in Mumbai at all. Again Paav too small. You will stay hungry ever after having 2-3 items on thier menu. Ragada Patties: This was the biggest disappointment, Seriously ! This is what they call Ragda Patties? Seriously if you soak Kabuli Chana at home and mix some potato and add Bunch of turmeric you will end up having a better dish than these people. Very bland, no chutney at all, I am sure the person who made this had never had a ragda patties in his entire life. The place is very noisy. The staff keeps on shouting the order numbers. Tables are situated very close to each other. Definitely not a place where you would take your date to. Stay away and don't fall for the word "Bombay" there is nothing Bombay or Mumbai about this place except the noise. read more
