Went to have all you can eat Pani puri with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. We stood near the back in front of a stand and a nice man gave us a bowl of onions and made the puris one at the time and placed them in our bowl . The pani and peas mixture was so tasty !! Def would go back !! I also tried the stuffed mirchi with peanuts,onions, and cilantro so good !! We had some dosa batter gota balls with chutney so so tasty !!! The biryani is not an authentic dum biryani but their version is pretty good. I continue to order from them. Their gravies and curries are good too. The issue with a lot of India Restaurants is that they start off with a big bang and more often than not - fizzle out. Not the case with Peacock. We went to Peacock for dinner after a AR Rahman concert - so it was late. The food took a little bit of time to get there - we could see they were kind of short staffed - but the service was courteous and accommodating (considering we got there 10 mins before they closed down) In a nutshell - the food was excellent. lets get to some details - Butter Chicken was excellent. There are 2 errors that most restaurants make the this dish overtly sweet - it was never meant to be sweet. They interpret the use of cream as being sweet - I have never figured out why. The second being the use of cubed breast pieces - this really kills the whole dish. There is an art to cooking breast, if not done well you land up with dry cubes which have no flavor. But Peacock got it right - they did not use breast and it was not sweet. The Goat Sultan was near perfection - succulent pieces and very well cooked. The Nellore Chepala Pulusu was tangy and just the right level of spice. The Tandoori naans - Garlic and plain, were hot and hit the mark. We ordered 2 biryanis - Vijayawada Boneless and a bone in chicken biryani. I did not care much for the boneless biryani - nothing wrong with the taste, but I have never understood "boneless" biryani. The regular bone in biryani was very tasty. Now the reason I did not give it 5* - the service was very slow. Again I will not hold it against the restaurant. It was just before closing time and they more than made up in their courteous and accommodating service. I do hope they maintain their service and food standards - I will be back here. read more

Hands down the best 'Hyderabadi Chicken Dum Biryani' I have had. Excellent to taste and the chicken is so soft that it almost falls off the bones. So my lady and I were out looking at homes in the area and decide to stop in. We got there and was sat pretty quickly as there were only 5 tables full. The host was quite unresponsive to my lady asking for water several times. After getting our water and working on my second buffet plate, out the corner of my eye, I see what I perceived as a small cat charging at me! As I realized what it was, I yelled because this HUGE RAT ATTACKED MY FOOT! It literally ran into my shoe scaring the crap out of me! From nose to tail it was at least a 14" long! I jumped up cursing and the table next to me, full of guys all jump out of their table too! DISGUSTING, place to eat! We told the hostess about what we encountered and she said, yes, it was probably a rat, smiled and asked us how the foot tasted!! WTF read more

Veg fried rice, navaratna kurma & chilli paneer. It was very shocking and disappointing to find none of them were good. 1- Veg Fried rice had only rice and no vegetables, literally none. 2- navaratna Kurma, got nothing in it. We have tried this many times with you and it was our favorite. This time it eas just gravy liquid no corn no veggies. I think it was unprepared and got served to us. 3- chilli paneer, again the paneer was added to the sauce and it was not tasting good at all. Paneer didn't have any flavor and it was bland . So sorry to say this - you guys really messed up our dinner. read more

Found this hidden gem few months back and have been a regular ever since. Their biriyani, I have tasted all their biriyani, is very fresh and aromatic with just the right amount of flavor and there is no overpowering taste of cardamom. Their is consistent throughout. Their butter chicken is also pretty good and I love their vegetarian biriyani options. Lastly, their Rasmalai is so fresh and literally melts in your mouth. This is a keeper! read more

We didn't get everything we ordered, the waiter never came to our table even when we were gesticulating wildly, we had to ask for serving spoons each time, he didn't bring us plates for sharing, he brought us our check without asking if we wanted dessert, and the food took forever to arrive. Really unprofessional service for such a nice-looking place with decent food. AND DON'T USE THE VALET SERVICE...the valet had an accident with my brand-new electric car while parking it and claimed it was not his responsibility because I wasn't staying at the hotel. Went here yesterday craving some northern Indian style food but with more of a kick to it - I've recently transitioned back to being vegan so I was happy that this restaurant serviced dishes I could have. I always get some style of curry when I eat Indian food, and this time was no accepting except I ordered a dish the waiter recommended after explaining what taste I was going for - ordered the Aloo Gobi Masala and asked if it could be made spicy since I need sweet + spice to be happy with anything I eat lol. Came out with just the flavors was hoping to get! I ordered mine with rice. The only thing I did forget to ask was if my dish could be made with coconut cream/milk instead of cow's cream since I'm plant-based and don't eat meat, shellfish, or dairy products, but that's something I'll have to keep in mind for my next visit. Wait staff was polite and attentive. I really enjoyed my visit! Every time I visit this place the food is *just* how I like it and I don't regret coming. I've tried 4-5 other Indian restaurants with Northern Indian style dishes and they never even come close to the way this restaurant prepares them. I'm just happy they're centrally located so I don't have to wander around for the flavors I enjoy so much. I'll be in again next week and I'm bringing a friend! Peacock restaurant has never disappointed us. If you love chicken lollipops the way it you get in indo Chinese stalls in India, this is the place you should head. Chicken lollipop is our regular take away item. The chicken tangdi kebab is also delicious. Succulent and cooked to perfection, teamed with mint chutney - it is a burst of flavors in your mouth! Also the tandoori chicken won't let you down. The right amount of spice that reminds you of flavors you are used to eating in India. Most places I tried have a bland tasting kebabs and tandoori. used to be a good place when it started but the restaurant appears to have lost its hospitality. one who appeared to own this place was only socializing with his friends. we were sitting right next to them and he didnt even bother to check up on us. service was the worst, waiters were handling food without wearing gloves. Please dont touch my food even if you sanitized your hands. why would a restaurant spend so much on interiors but cant hire a sensible professional waiting staff ??! they just brought food but no plates, spoons or water was brought to table. waiting staff was in casual wear (in slippers no less) and it was difficult to tell staff from customers. The first star is for the fact the place was open, the other star was because the coke was good....it was out of a can! Ordered 3 items, showed up at different times. Dosa came at the very end and only came with coconut chutney, and something that didn't even resemble Sambar. Paratha showed up after we were almost done with the meal. The rice is yet to arrive, we ate with the one naan that came with one of the curries. And lastly, waiter wouldn't talk and felt like he was being forced to be there.
