A few weeks ago, my husband and I stopped by 30 minutes before closing for a quick bite to eat. The staff were extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed before they closed down the kitchen. They have plenty of gluten-free options and staff were really knowledgeable about which items were celiac safe. The portions were SO generous and we had lots leftover to take home. In fact, I could barely tell them apart, both yellow color, in texture, even the flavor too similar. The only real difference was in the meats. My dear friend held his birthday gathering here and invited about 20 guests. I was fortunate to be included in group, leaving me wondering about my friend's judge of character. Ha! The restaurant had arranged the tables for us, and we took up about half the seating-and they did a remarkable job hosting us. For such a large group, I had lower expectations on service and the ability to keep up with us all, but they managed! I ordered the chicken tikka masala, as I always do-I know, I'm boring, but it's what I like. It was good-and I appreciate that it wasn't too spicey for my wimpy taste buds. The naan was a little flat for my liking-I prefer something with a bit more substance to it. But the flavor was good. The wine was served in a strange metal goblet. Swung by this place after work with a friend and loved it! Ordered a variety of foods to share - the onion bhajis were absolutely stunning!! So crispy and delish paired with the chutneys. Our service was good. The staff isn't necessarily outwardly friendly but they are attentive. The food took a bit longer than we anticipated but once we started eating all was forgiven. But they're attentive, refilling water and checking in as often as needed. I typically get the naan and the coconut korma. They're happy to make it mild, which works for me. Both dishes are good. The chicken tikka masala and butter chicken is delicious. I love the flavors and the creaminess in both dishes. But for $20 an entree and the small cups they're served in for takeout is horrible. It's like a large soup bowl that the entrees we got with lots of curry but not a lot of chicken. Not to sound dramatic but it was disappointing that we paid so much for a very small amount of food. Mind you we picked up this order to feed about 10-12 people. My husband and I called last minute for a takeout order before closing so I'll consider the time for this review. We also got the lamb curry (tomato based) and lamb biryani. I didn't like either one. The lamb curry lacked flavor for me. And tomato-soupy flavor. The biryani was my first time trying and I didn't like the peanuts and raisins inside of it. The lamb meat was not so tender. We also got the garlic naan. Which was okay. This place is great! We've tried several different indian food places in Utah, and none compare to this one. The food is so much flavorful, and the curry is actually hot, unlike others. Trust me, as a hispanic with a high spice tolerance, it's actually spicy when they say it. Even when spicy, you can still taste the spices and flavor. The spices were not large chunks nor small enough to blend into the food so it's slightly disconcerting to bite into when not expected. We told him we were ordering food to go and asked for a menu and he just sort of stared. We saw a stack on the far side of the counter so we just grabbed one and stood out of the way. When we were ready to order, we stepped back to the counter and he looked at us and walked away. Bombay house is one of my favorite places to come! They have AMAZING SERVICE and FOOD! There's a server named Sayed that is always on top of it and very friendly everytime we come. He always adds on to our experience there with how great he is. Their veggie samosas as delicious. They are always perfectly cook and I enjoy the different sauce that comes with them. I always get their chicken Tika masala which is very rich in its flavor. The chicken coconut kurma is delicious too. It's a little bit more on the coconut side but very creamy. Checked out Bombay Garden this week & the food was so good!! We both tried the Mango and Strawberry Lassi drinks. These are like a fruit flavored yogurt type drink. I wasn't sure what to expect, I've never had these before but I thought the mango was delicious! They aren't too sweet which I appreciated. I would recommend both of these drinks. I ordered the Vegetable Masala. Everything about this dish was delicious! I loved the veggies included in this and the masala sauce had the best flavor. I loved eating this over rice or just with my naan bread. My friend ordered the Paneer Masala & I'm shocked how much I liked this! It was loaded with cheese & I can be a little weird with cheese sometimes but I would probably get this next time. I really liked both of these dishes with the masala. I ordered regular plain Naan and my friend ordered the Peshwari Naan & that naan was really different, sweet but also a great combo with the masala sauce. Definitely check out this bread when you go! I love that vegetarian meals are very clearly marked on this menu. Parking was great as well. Our server was a little pushy with posting a google review for them (that's why they have so many google reviews) & also just getting our order put in. Since I can't give 4.5 stars, I'm rounding up to 5. I've been here several times with my partner and liked it so much I organized a work teambuilding dinner here. Food: The food is always tasty and made fresh, and they can do anything from "Utah spicy" (AKA no spice) to spicy even by my Indian colleagues' standards. Service: The staff is polite and attentive, even with large groups, but not so much that it interrupts your meal. Menu and special diets: I love that all dairy and gluten items are labeled clearly on the menu. Some of my colleagues are vegan, vegetarian, or lactose-intolerant, and they have extensive options for each diet. The menu is smaller than some places because it is only Northern Indian food, with no dosas, Nepalese/Himalayan, or Indo-Chinese options. I do wish they would allow you to sub naan for rice, but that's a minor complaint. Vibe, price, and value: The decor is well done and feels slightly upscale. Pricing is on par with other sit-down Indian restaurants. They use quality ingredients and halal meat, so don't expect Cheesecake-factory size portions, because no Indian restaurant has that. Dishes may be $1-2 more than other places, but given it's in Jordan Landing and has a nice atmosphere, it seems reasonable. They also have a good selection of lower to mid-tier wines and a few beers, all of which are very affordable, so you can have a nice upscale-feeling meal without breaking the bank. read more

We had the most awful experience at this Bombay Garden in West Jordan. We ordered Chicken Tandoori which is a common dish at any authentic Indian restaurants and we had it so many times at other places. We definitely know what this dish looks like. We were shocked by the quality and the portion of the dish. Attached is the photo of our chicken tandoori before we eat anything. As you all can see, there are approximately 5 small pieces of chicken, for a $17 dollar... Quality: Chicken Tandoori at Bombay Garden is really not chicken tandoori. According to Wikipedia, chicken tandoori has to be baked in a tandoor, a cylindrical clay oven. The meat is definitely not baked in any way. Also the chicken has to be marinated with spices (usually red-ish) and yogurt. I don't see any redness from the skin. It is so funny when i talked to the waiter who seems to be an India Indian why there is no redness on my chicken tandoori, he responded if i need some red chili sauce? Portion: The portion is really small. Five small chicken pieces for $17 and the chicken is not marinated or baked? Are you sure this is the Indian chicken tandoori? Service-wise, the waiter does come check on our table very frequently, but when i commented on this strange chicken tandoori, he was asking if we want any dessert. I was thinking maybe they want to make some compensations. Boy was I wrong. He came back to me and told me the management believe there is nothing wrong, and we can't get our dessert. What a huge humiliation! We didn't ask for your dessert, and now you make us sound like we want dessert so that we made this up. I'd been craving Indian food for a while now and Bombay House hit the spot! I ordered the strawberry lassi along with the chicken tikka masala (hot) and garlic naan. The spice level on my dish certainly did not disappoint - when they say hot they mean it! I was definitely glad for my creamy lassi, which helped balance things out. Everything was super flavorful, and the meat was very tender. I'm pretty sure I could devour an entire basket of the garlic naan myself, it was fantastic. Chicken - this was quite good, a good size portion, but again, low on the chicken.. the curry was quite good. My friend told me how amazing this place is so we were excited to give it a try. Right when you walk in we were greeted by someone and sat down right away. The atmosphere is so cozy. The lights are dim, the dining area is clean, and they have candles lit on the table. I was told to give the Chicken Tika Masala a try and that's what I ordered. I got that and the garlic naan and I'm so glad I did! The Tika Masala is amazing! So much flavor and lots of pieces of chicken. You can pick your level of spice and I got medium, this is perfect for me. The naan was so soft and delicious! The rice they give you comes in a metal bowl, once it's gone you are able to ask for more and get as much as you'd like. The service here is phenomenal! We had about 4-5 different people ask how we are doing, if we wanted more rice or refills on our drinks. I love that you can pay from your table with their handheld device. It's quick and easy. The service was very attentive and food came out quickly. We got the chicken tikka masala mild and lamb vindaloo medium with garlic naan. The chicken tikka masala was pretty good, but a little lacking in flavor. Perhaps if we had gone a level up the spice would have helped with that. The lamb vindaloo was also pretty good, with most of the spice seemingly coming from the potatoes. I wish there was a spice level in between the mild and medium to get that kick of flavor without being too spicy. The rice to curry ratio was a bit off. We could have used double the rice amount in order to eat all the curry. I did not dock my eating based on this because we did have multiple people ask if we wanted more rice, we declined because we weren't sure if it was an extra cost or not. The garlic naan was again, pretty good - but I couldn't taste much garlic. The ambience was nice, but the seats could use a little TLC.
