No shortage of flavor here. I ordered the vegetable maratha over vegetable pulao rice. There's incredible spices throughout the bowl with just enough kick of heat to make your nose run. Lots of free parking and the dining area is super clean. I noticed a nice seating area outside and that would likely be a fun spot when the weather warms up :) Friendly service too! Thank you Nycole R. for the recommendation. I enjoyed the food and will return to try other menu items! I also appreciate that they use paper bags and eco friendly to go containers.

It's very difficult to find good Indian food in SLC but munch kart doesn't disappoint. The place was pretty crowded. We had a vadapav, chicken saoji bowl with rice and chapati and a Chole batura. We loveddd vadapav. Vadapav alone is worth visiting the place. Chicken was good with chapati but not with rice. Chole batura was average too. I saw a lot of people ordering mango lassi too. We will try it the next time, maybe. The place is really cute with cartoons.

The guy taking my order was very kind. Excellent customer service. The food was all very good! A little spicy but nothing crazy. Would definitely come here again.

I hate to be THAT person, but I wasn't crazy about most of my food. I really liked my appetizer (a chicken samosa), naan bread, and dessert (mango custard, I believe), but the rest of my food (the makhani, tikka masala and [especially] saag), fell flat:( I didn't taste much flavor, only a hint of spice here and there. Indian food is one of my favorite cuisines, so I was super bummed about that. However, I did notice that they were backed up, so maybe I just came on a bad day? Other than that, the service was friendly (which is always a plus for me), and the place was clean:) I only wish their wire-y chairs all had cushions on them. Ouch!

My usual go-to at Indian restaurants is Chicken Tikka Masala, but after glancing over the menu, I didn't see this option. The nice man at the counter suggested the butter chicken as a close alternative, which was a good choice-it was delicious. It was also a bit spicy; when I order it next time, I might ask if the spiciness level is adjustable. For this super white girl. This cool new restaurant is classified as fast casual, but the food is on par with any other sit-down place. The biggest drawback is the menu-the QR codes point you to their online ordering system instead of a more user-friendly menu. It took my group several minutes to navigate it and decide what we all wanted. The service is terrific-it's obvious that people have put their heart and soul into this place and for that reason alone-I want it to be successful. I appreciate the recyclable containers, although my food was seeping through the bottom, making a bit of a mess. But I suppose that's the trade off between using a more sturdy material and something eco-friendly. I will definitely return-looking forward to trying a few other menu items.

This cute little fast casual Indian restaurant is awesome for a quick bite that is affordable and delicious. The restaurant is clean and modern, and the food comes out pretty quick. My only complaint is that they not only served me a Trader Joe's naan, but they somehow found a way to make it more delicious that when I toast or air fry it, I think by adding butter or oil. The plates do come with rice already but you can pick it as a side for more rice or pay a small up charge for other sides. Service was friendly and attentive. I also liked how all their disposable serving ware is recyclable. For the environment and the future, but cups were plastic but it's a great effort in my book!

This place was phenomenal! I live an hour away and find myself trying to think up excuses to go back. Good Indian food isn't always easy to come by, but this food hit every mark on the Indian scale for me. Tons of flavor, good meat, nice consistency... I couldn't get enough. Upon arriving I was slightly overwhelmed by the menu but the kind guy behind the counter took time to explain the different dishes and even let me sample a few curries before ordering. I went on a Thursday afternoon and didn't find it to be crowded at all. Anxious to go back!

Ever since I ordered Butter Chicken from another restaurant I haven't been able to stop thinking about it! Chicken Makhani is another name for Butter Chicken. I tried Munchkart since the delivery window was quick! (Ordered via DoorDash) Also, they offered a few different combo discounts if you added the Mango Lassi and the Gulabjamun. The chicken makhani here was not quite as creamy and buttery as the last one I tried, but it also had more of a spice kick that was delicious! The reason for my 4 stars instead of 5 was because the amount of rice to the chicken makhani was disproportionate. The bowl was about 3/4 white rice. It was yummy though. The Mango Lassi! OMG... SOOOOOO GOOD! The flavor was so bright and fresh! You have to try it! Thinking of it makes my mouth water now! I didn't really care for the Gulabjamun, but I think that is personal preference more than anything. They are basically a dough made with milk solids that is fried and then soaked in a rosewater sugar syrup. I have found that I don't really care for a lot of Indian desserts. They tend to be on the super sweet side. Even baklava, which is delicious, is not something I normally order because of the sweetness.

Wonderful experiences both times, I've gone for lunch and dinner. Food is amazing. HEALTHY. Vegan, and the staff are very friendly and kind. I would go here ever day if I could. The only thing they need is more seating - but the outdoor seating is nice on a clear day.

If you love Indian food, then this is your place! Fabulous food at great prices. The staff is wonderful. We got the Tikka Masala and Korma and it was cooked to perfection. Who doesn't love naan bread? HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Is this a joke ? Is this what you consider as chicken biryani ? With that tiny little piece of chicken ? Biryani is one of the most popular Indian dishes not only for its taste but also for the nutritional balance that it offers (carbs, protein, fat). Sorry , the way you are serving biryani is unacceptable by any standards .. take an extra dollar or two but serve chicken biryani, the way it should be served with appropriate amount of chicken.

Food was amazing and they had so many different options! They were so kind! Great experience! 10/10

Veg Samosa (2 Pcs) Chicken Tandoori

Food was delish! We must have arrived at an odd time though as it took an extra 30 minutes for our rice to come out. They were so nice and gave us a free dessert to make it up. Super clean restaurant. Friendly employee. Had the veggie samosas, chicken biryani, garlic cheese naan and mango lassi. Would order all of them again! My friend got the tandoori chicken and we both agreed it was alright but wouldn't order it again.

    Amazing and friendly staff.

This was my family's first trip to Jalwa since it used to be the former Aroma Indian restaurant…read morethat we have patronized for years. The new interior refresh is nice, modern, and inviting...and a pleasant departure from the typical Indian restaurant... Although I think some modern cultural artwork, paintings, and decorations would be very fitting as an add-on to the Jalwa restaurant. Our waiter was very pleasant (although he spoke in hushed tones...and it was difficult to hear him.) He also got a little confused as to what we were looking for with respect to just wanting the papadums with chutney (which is a standard appetizer at most Indian restaurants that we've patronized,) but instead we got vegetable pakora with chutney and just plain papadums on the side. Hmmmm. Nevertheless, it was all delicious. My wife's main entree was the butter chicken, and we both shared a saag aloo. I had my go-to chicken vindaloo, and it was delicious. The portion sizes are humongous, which is a nice departure from the typical Indian restaurant where you pay $15 and get maybe half the bowl that Jalwa provides. Overall, an excellent experience and will be back to patronize more often. Oh, and they're newly updated and revised menu is awesome! Dozens and dozens of options. It took us at least 10 minutes to get through it all to figure out what we wanted! Four stars for good food (and plenty of it), good service, and a nice new atmosphere as compared to Aroma. Absolutely recommend!

Service: Quick and friendly. Food: Got the Sesame Crispy Potato, garlic potatoes, and the chicken tikka masala. Everything was pretty good tbh and they definitely do not skimp on the spice when you ask for it which was a pleasant surprise! The tikka masala was a bit sweeter than I'd like and I ran out of meat way before I ran out of the curry, but it was good. Overall, decent Indian place. Nothing amazing, but it's got everything you need.
