The paneer pakora was crispy and flavorful, the naan was perfectly cheesy and garlicky, and the korma had a rich, creamy sauce with great flavor. This is definitely my go-to spot for Indian food. "Tandoori chicken is a classic dish from the India made by marinating chicken in a mixture of yogurt and spices, then cooking it at high heat, traditionally in a cylindrical clay oven called a tandoor". Why is your dish like curry? Maybe you are ok to serve this to your patrons that don't know much about the cuisine. Also your Naan is chewy. My conclusion is that you don't have a tandoor oven so why your food is the way it is.. Literally a disgrace to the Indian community you serve food of such poor quality. read more

Came from Ogden area to celebrate my friends' 85th birthday. This was my first real experience with Indian food. There were 3 of us for lunch. We arrived before noon so it wasn't real crowded. I ordered the chicken mushroom plate. My friends ordered something with lamb. I can't remember the name. Plus we got two baskets of Nann bread. Food was outstanding . Portions were generous. We had plenty to take home. I think our server was the owner. A very kind man and because it was my friends' birthday he gave us rice pudding for dessert on the house. I ordered chili paneer with spice level 10 and the coating was so chewy and paneer was hard. i returned the order and the guy came to me saying if I order hot, they can't do anything if ai can't handle it. I had to explain them that I had no issues with hotness but with the texture which was the worst I have ever tried. They didn't bill me for it but just a warning not to order chilli paneer. Definitely recommend! Indian food is normally very vegetarian friendly and Great India is no exception there. We ordered paneer samosas, garlic and cheesy garlic naan, paneer tikka masala, tadka fry, and bengan bhartha. All of them were delicious and I'd order them all again. The staff was attentive and kind. The food is good and portions are similar to other places. The service was horrendous. I went to pick up online order and they didn't start making it until I was there(I ordered ahead of time for a reason). They then told me I would have to wait 5-7 which I didn't mind UNTIL I was there for 16 minutes. My food came out and I had to ask if it was mine because the cashier was in his own world not paying attention. Overall the experience/service was terrible, they had to manually input while looking at my phone for the order, I had to remind the cashier that the food they just brought out was mine and the most upsetting part is that they tried to make me pay AGAIN for my order. The Paneer Pakora was also pretty good! The sauces they serve on the side were delish! The Butter Chicken was alright but not my favorite. Was a little more tomato-y than I was hoping and tasted more like Tikka Masala. The rice was also a little interesting. It's pretty thick rice with a sweet taste. We were told to come try Great India by a couple people that said it was the best Indian food in Utah. Not a great parking situation and the interior has a feel like it used to be a burger joint or something. The food was good but not great. I like myself a medium chicken tikka masala but their medium was super spicy, to the point that I didn't honestly enjoy the food. We decided to try the paneer samosas which were interesting but if we go back I'd try the regular samosas. The naan was fine but a little on the thin side. In the strip malls on across the street from Topgolf. Lots of parking. This space used to be used for a grilled cheese restaurant and they still have most of their decor and signage up. Kind of odd. Lots of seating and we were one of two tables in the restaurant on a Tuesday around 1130. No one else came in while we were eating. Staff was friendly. For my friends and I, this has been our go-to place for years now. Tastes like home cookin', every time. The shahi paneer, prepared in a uniquely traditional fashion, is one of my very favorite dishes to enjoy when dining out, at any restaurant in the Greater Salt Lake City area. My husband and I ventured south today and so glad that we tried this Indian place! They had half a page just of specialty breads! Love carbs and love the variety! My husband got chicken biryani, it came with a yummy yogurt sauce to curb the heat. The rice dish was great and just spicy enough (we got medium spicy). I got the combination with puri chole. They accidentally made both puri and bhatura and gave us both. We loved both types of fried bread, it was the perfect vehicle for the chickpea curry. A solid three stars since it's an average since the samosas were hard skinned and a person in the party did not eat the skin since they were afraid of chipping a tooth. The naan was pretty dried and a tad bit on the burnt side. The good was the lamb coconut korma, the lamb flavor wasn't overpowering and was nicely trimmed, only one chewy bit. We went a second time. I think we have now met the entire family, and they are just wonderful people. This time I have a kind of funny story. We ordered the Paneer Tkkka Masala agin, it was just as great and we had leftovers. The next night my wife had a business dinner at a Mexican restaurant. She brought me back the Fajitas she had ordered, and it was pretty bland. I added the Tikka Masala to the peppers and chicken and it made for an amazing meal, especially for hotel room leftovers. Had no idea this place replaced the sandwich soup shop. The owner of Great India had first opened Bombay House in Provo in the early 1990's and later opened the one on Foothill that later moved to Parlay's way. Not sure what happened during the separation of business partners but he has now opened this location. Great tasting food, excellent service, some things are a bit spicy for my palate. I was recently on a work trip and this place was in walking distance of the office. I opted for take out and walked in to order. The space was small, clean, and nicely decorated. I ordered at the counter. I chose paneer makhani, a veg platter, and a salty lassi. They had the salty lassi pre-made in fridge. That was a huge win, since I could have it while I waited (which wasn't long) My food was delicious. They nailed the spice level on the curry and gave me ample rice to eat it with. The veg platter was also fantastic. I particularly liked the pakora, which was nice and crispy. Overall, I'll definitely pop over there again the next time I'm on a work trip.
