We tried this place tonight for the first time. I've been in search of a good local Indian restaurant since working in California. This one comes very close. The smells were very inviting and worked our appetites. With Covid, the seating is spaced out, but safe. Service was excellent and the staff very friendly. The food is very good and flavorful. I had the chicken korma which was not quite what I expected from past meals, but still very good. My only disappointment was the garlic naan. It was good, but not as crisp as I like. I was visiting from Los Angeles where we have Indian buffet lunches for $14.99 ($19.99 on Sundays with champagne) and Indian takeouts for $12.00-16.00 with 3 veggies rice and naan included so imagine my surprise when a small container of saag paneer cost $11 and med tiki masala was $16. (Total $25+) Food was tasty but I decided Indian food is too high in Toledo. Didn't give it 5 stars only because they still use styrofoam for takeout orders. Hot food should not be put in styrofoam although plenty of places still do it.The chemicals in the styrofoam can leach into the food. I guess its cheaper and they have a bottom line so we have to deal with it. I choose not to. read more

CHECK your items before you leave.They have an offer on 2 rolls as $10, I ordered 2 -2 rolls total I should get 4 but after coming home they are 2. With Covid I did not check the items. After coming home I saw missing items. Earlier it happened to me and one Indian said she will give me next time. Now they have different staff I talked to Maria, she is rude and tells me to come next day for pickup instead of refund. Bombay Kitchen is delicious and brings a welcome twist to the local Indian food scene. I had the Aloo Tikki Chaat, Reshmi Chicken Tikka Masala, Lilva Kachori, Paratha, Naan, and Mango Lassi. Before jumping into the food I have to say that the owners of this restaurant and their family are some of the nicest people you will ever come across. They were so hospitable and helpful and that in itself was just so refreshing! Now the food...My very favorite thing that we ordered was Lilva Kachori. They were crispy and flavorful and I could have enjoyed a second order of them if I wasn't so full. We had their wings, which were plump and juicy. The Lamb Vindaloo was tender and packed with spices. I found the rice to be cooked perfectly. We had a couple appetizers that were also very good, but I don't remember the names now. The waitress did not explain it well and we ended up paying more than we expected, since what we ordered was not explained well enough. Ate here the other day...I ordered the chicken Benyaki...not sure of the spelling on that though lol. A huge portion and I also ordered the flat garlic bread to go along with that. I wasn't thrilled with the Benyaki but that was no fault of the restaurant...it just was not something I would order again...and that is just me. This use to be one of my favorite places to eat at. However, the last time I was there the old lady that owns the place was dropping the F bomb continuously while talking to me and the person I was with. She was asking us for our phone numbers so that we could keep in touch. Then, she said something that was very inappropriate and unladylike like to my friend. Until this happened I was going to encourage people that I know to eat at this place. However, a bad experience like this ruins things. I will never go back to this place because of this experience.
