I always love eating at Tiger Bakery! They have many vegan options which is what I eat while I'm there, and I've never been disappointed! If you eat meat, and are looking for halal their meat is halal here. This has become a regular "go to" local spot for me!

Had vegan friends in town. Was happy to try Tiger Bakery & Deli out with them. A check-in offer always encourages me to try something new and I appreciated that the staff used a speaker system since masks and shields make it hard to hear each other. My favorite was the lasagna and I always enjoy fantastic baklava.

Tiger Bakery is the gold standard for down to earth authentic Lebanese in Toledo. And if you're a true Toledoan you know that Lebanese and middle eastern food in general is an important part of our food culture. It's so fun to pop in and grab a hand full of different salads and dips along with fresh pita to complete the meal. You can eat it there in their small (usually empty) cafe or take home for a great meal later. The vegetarian products are all fresh and clean tasting, and the meat products like the kibbeh or meat pies are deliciously greasy. It's REALLY easy to miss this place, but if you haven't already been, bookmark and add it to your to-do list. Tiger is a Toledo classic!

Tiger Bakery is the height of Toledo cuisine. It's not fancy and there's no table service. It's just fantastic food. Watch out for the staff. They will ply you with free samples and convince you to order much more food than you intended. It will be new and delicious and half the reason to come. The lunch specials are what most people get. I recommend the four side combo for about $9. The chicken skewers are great and come in three flavors, all great. I particularly like the spicy. The lentil salad is nice for a balance. There are five or six rices that are all great. I'm a huge fan of the dajjaj. It's chicken and green peppers in a mild, tomatoey sauce. It has a touch of sweet in the savory and goes well over rice. DO NOT FORGET THE HUMMUS. I have lived in LA, DC, and NY, all food meccas. Nobody has hummus like this. It is smooth and almost creamy. Yes, it's great for pita, but dip your chicken in it, spread it on a meat pie. The flavor is not overpowering. I like the red pepper hummus best, but the plain hummus is still better than any hummus I've ever had. Park in back and enter there. There are one or two tables to eat at, but most people take out. The food is not prepared to order, but is reheated. Don't worry, it still tastes fabulously fresh.

This is the best place to go to for Arabic food. Tiger Bakery & Deli is a 10 Star place for healthy fresh food. Just take a look at these photos from the food we ordered from Tiger Bakery.

Last person in our party was served almost 2 hours after we were seated. He boxed most of his food. We all did. People came and went and staff was wrapping up, we were all ready to leave. How is this ok to arrive anticipating a shared experience and leave paying a premium for carry out? We waited an hour for hummus. We were asked if we wanted appetizers served first, yes, which leaves the expectation that items would arrive timely and in order. One in our party asked for a drink on the house due to the unacceptable wait. And clarified "on the house" a second time. I felt like the acknowledgment was conciliatory and a show of good faith. I regret ordering a second drink based on that. When we got our bills, his drink was on the tab. Was there some disconnect? Plus an automatic 20% gratuity due to "large group" of 7 people. 20% is standard to me, but in this case doesn't help the cause of what might be assumed to be an overburdened server. And makes me think they feel it's the customer that's the problem for expecting anything remotely what the brand implies. The server was congenial initially, but avoided us the longer we waited for our food. No water refills, no updates. I don't blame her for not asking if we needed anything because what we needed was our food ....how uncomfortable....whatever was going on in the kitchen might be making her job miserable. 2 hours on a cozy patio enjoying decent food and drinks, yes. Waiting on food, not so much.

The menu goes beyond the basic…read moreshawarma/hummus/falafel things to include offerings like braised lamb shanks, yogurt kibbe, a huge selection of meat and cheese pies, besides a number of "Americanized" choices. The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.
