Took a random detour to Ameeras between Michigan and Dayton. Here's our take!! Service: awesome. Nick treats you like family. He even called me his cousin. Lol Food: Hummus - delicious taste, a bit thinner than other hummus we've had. But, when that homemade hot sauce is added I forgot my own name it was THAT good. Kibbie: well seasoned meat, the breading(?) was superb. It was not super crunchy. The breading element also individual bite was stellar! You guessed it, we dipped that baby in the hot sauce and the yogurt sauce. The appetizers were so good, we let Nick pick the entrees. I am pretty sure he gave us the chicken and beef sish kabobs. Chickens came with the garlic aoili type of dip (sauce?) on the side. You know I'm going to say it was amazing and delicious. Beef: this man cooked those tenderloin pieces better than MOST steakhouses. It was a perfect medium rare. You guessed it - it was delicious. Desserts (for take out lol) chocolate cake and grandmas rice pudding. Rice pudding: thick and creamy, not too sweet. Personally, think a few golden raisins would be fantastic in there. This doesn't seem to be in the menu. Maybe it's a special thing. Chocolate cake: this was the thing that slightly disappointed us. The taste was ok but it was dry. Now, he told us his cousin in Cleveland makes them for him. So it isn't like he can get a fresh one outta the kitchen everyday. So, I'd take one a bit on the drier side and have a milk chaser than commercial garbage. Do yourself and your taste buds a favor, stop in to see Nick. Tell him cousin Kerri from Dayton sent you. See ya next time cousin Nick!!

Went with a group of friends on Friday evening. We had an awesome experience, shared some apps including the hummus, cauliflower and falafel- all 3 were great, especially the cauliflower. Then got the fattoush with Ameeras favorite and the pitza which were both solid- highly recommend the pitza. Next time I would just get the beef because it was that good, just melted in my mouth. Service was phenomenal, Nick and the waitress were so helpful and so nice! Can't wait to come back! My pictures aren't very good because we couldn't wait to start eating

We got takeout from the spot while visiting Toledo Ohio. The manager that greeted me upon pick up was extra nice. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area looking for takeout

There are multiple reasons to patronize this establishment: 1) Ameera serves terrific Mediterranean fare. 2) The prices are fair. 3) The owner is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. 4) The owner is very service-oriented. This new Mediterranean restaurant is located in a small strip plaza south of the center of Sylvania near Lourdes campus. The storefront is not so hard to spot and the parking is ample. Nick, the owner, was the former proprietor for Aladdins. He just opened this place recently. On the weeknight that we visited, we were surprised to walk in and find that they were only accommodating takeaway orders. Nick said he did not have any help that night due to employees not wanting to work many hours because of COVID issues. We said we were really interested in eating out, and not taking something home. He then said, "Come on in. I'll open the dining room and wait on you." He turned on the lights, seated us, took our order and prepared the food. This was remarkable orientation toward customer service and satisfaction. It is not something you will often see, and it was an action that set Ameera apart from an ordinary restaurant in my opinion. We decided to try the Hummus Shawarma Plate and the Ameera Salad. He makes his own salad dressings and the Tomato Basil was outstanding. We had Arnold Palmers to drink (tea plus lemonade) which was a nice touch. We finished with two lovely pieces of Baklava. We were very happy with our meal and the service was the best we've had in a long time. Our final bill including food, drinks, tax and tip was $46. At $23 per person, this was a great value given the quality of the fare and the extraordinary service. We also had some food to take home for another meal. We will definitely be back to try this place again.

Amazing food! Very impressed with everything we ordered. Beautifully cooked and presented. Would highly recommend! Get one of their giant pieces of cake for dessert- you won't be disappointed!

Ordering takes place at the counter, so grab a menu there, make your choices and pay. You'll receive a number to take back to your table. Food was brought out in the proper order - appetizers, mains, and dessert, all when appropriate. The food was WONDERFUL(!), so flavorful, freshly prepared, really delicious. We had two wraps, lentil soup, a Lebanese burger, grape leaves, kibbe, and baklava. I would note only that the wraps (pita or lavash) were fairly thin, so grab an app or a side if that's your choice for a main. Lavash wraps are larger than pitas. It's a shame that they don't offer a falafel lavash wrap, but there are lots of other choices on the extensive menu. The clientele included lots of Arabic families, a wonderful testament to the excellent authentic food offered at Sidon. We also stopped into their market and found it to be a bustling place - large, clean, brightly lit, with tons of options and so many freshly-prepared foods. Staff were efficient and friendly. Prices are reasonable. Sidon is a great find!

The chicken shawarma is excellent, nicely seared but still juicy. Salads have been very good, with strongly (but not too strongly) lemony dressings, Falafels are crisp on the outside, a little soggier than I'd like on the inside--not that that stopped me from scarfing them down! Hummus is about as good as you'll find. Good as the food is, the service can be a bit slow. The market side is small, doesn't have a huge selection, but still a solid representation of mediterranean cooking basics (and seriously...just how many brands of tahini do you need???). And it's clean! A very economical olive bar and well-stocked meat case are musts for a visit here. In the latter, you'll find a little bit of beef, a little bit of chicken, a little bit of goat, but a whole lotta lamb, everything from tongues to trotters, at far below supermarket prices. While I like to sample a variety of places, Muna is taking away my incentive to explore other middle eastern restaurants in Toledo. It's a pleasant rut to be stuck in.

While I did not experience the ambiance at Grape Leaf Diner today, I can say from a past visit that the atmosphere is clean, bright with lots of windows, and with comfortable chairs and booths. The restaurant is located near or within a small strip mall at the Holland, OH location. (The Grape Leaf Express location in Toledo, OH located on Monroe St near Franklin Park Mall is also in a strip mall.) The food ordered today included chicken shawarma, yellow rice with vegetables (green beans, corn and peas), hummus, pita bread, and a Greek salad. There was also a dish of grilled vegetables that included squash and zucchini. While I didn't want to be rude and photograph food in the middle of the party, I took some screenshots posted by the restaurant to give you an idea of the food presentation. The salad ingredients were very fresh and delicious. Hummus was perfectly flavored. I always wish that Mediterranean rice had more vegetables, though it was delicious. I found the chicken shawarma a bit salty, but I'm salt-sensitive, so most people probably would love it; the meat was lean. As for the zucchini and squash vegetables, they looked delicious but we didn't have plastic knives, and I couldn't manage to cut them or eat them with the plastic forks. It was a beautiful presentation and I recommend that you give this restaurant a try! I visited the location on Central for a Galentines outing and it was perfect. I've already been back since that day. As a big fan of Mediterranean food Poco has some of the best hummus I've tried thus far. There's also many variations of grape leaves (in general) and I'm not a fan of all of them but I did enjoy their meat grape leaves. They make them with lamb and ground beef, rice, Syrian spice, and cook them with lemon and mint. All combined the grape leaves have a savory taste with a hint of sweetness for its flavor. I've never been disappointed with their Cried Calamari Za'atar. It's typically fried hard to give a nice crispy crunch. My favorite dinner on the menu as of this moment are the Grilled Baby Lamb Chops. I ordered medium rare chops since they advertise having them cooked this way is their specialty. I gladly agree with them. Yes it might be pink on the inside but the flavor is everything. You can order a small (4) or large (6) plate of the chops. The large plate comes with a bed of rice. Overall, I would say that their prices are reasonable for the amount and quality of food you receive. This location is somewhat small but still spacious enough to enjoy yourself and have private conversations. I would say that it's appropriate for any type of small gathering to take place at this location. The service is always stellar and it's pretty cool that you can view the action in the kitchen as you're dining. Alcohol is served as they also have a small bar area. Wine fills their menu but they do offer special cocktails as well. I've tried their cabernet, and peach sangria. Their classic sangria looks amazing though so I might order that next. Overall, Poco Piatti is a restaurant you should absolutely dine at sooner than later!
