Went to the Joint Chiropractic and we wanted to grab a snack. Saw this place one complex over . We had two lamb and beef gyros , one extra meat. Bf had a Greek salad, set of two rolled Baklava(1.25). The unleavened bread they put the meat in was awesome. Crispy on outside and goodness in The inside ! Everything was awesome and not too huge and reasonably priced to boot! So we r staring at the menu and he decided to get a combo plate. Chicken and beef with rice and coleslaw and it's very tasty. Came back thru going to Detroit this time. Our BT fit in the parking lot ya! We ordered two large salads with beef/lamb gyro meat. She slices it off the big roll and tosses it on the grill to crisp and puts it on top. Omg it's soooo delicious !!!! We asked for some gyro sauce on the side and a piece of bread ( like nan). Two rolls of Baklava too as a finish. We took some of each salad to go. So maybe next time we will order medium salad. Oh ya.. the yoghurt drink they have in original and mint. It has probiotics in it of course. I drank half with my meal. It's good. They're very busy here. Which is usually a good sign. The young man running the show did an excellent job of juggling answering the phone and prepping the food. At 12 o'clock he got some backup to help him. There waz a lot of steak in my shwarma wrap - yum. I really loved the pickled turnip and cucumber and also the fresh tomatoes and tahini sauce. I'm giving it two stars because the delivery was quick. But that's it. I ordered a chicken plate that came with rice veggies pita etc. The chicken was a large tray of literally diced pieces of The most dried out god awful chicken. As in inedibly dry and bad. Even smothering it in their pretty good hummus wasn't enough to make the chicken palatable. Really don't know how they placed that stuff in a takeout container and thought "yup. This'll wow the customer". The fried kabbeh was good to be fair but if you order a dish where the cooked chicken is the main event it's criminal to serve what they did. read more

Had a craving for falafel and decided to check this place out. My friend is obsessed with their Schwarma wrap, so I had high hopes. I got the falafel wrap and was a little disappointed. The falafel was very dry. I had a tough time eating it even with the sauce that was on the pita. Overall the service was quick and the people were nice. ToledoRick Toledo, OH 3613 This used to be one of my favorite take out places. Apparently, it has been sold and the new owners are destroying it. Portions used to be ample and reasonably priced. Now, sides such as cole slaw or hummus are packaged in 3 1/4 oz cups, about half what they used to be. Plates used to be served on a bed of lettuce with onion, cucumber and tomato. No longer. Rice, formerly considered a side, is now the predominate item with the meat placed on top. And when I say rice, I mean a LOT of it,,probably because it's a cheap filler. Plates also used to be served with pita, but that, too, appears to have gone by the wayside. All of this on top of an increase in pricing. Wait time for food is about double what it used to be. We ended up waiting over 20 minutes. One poor worker seemed to be doing 90% of the work while the other almost seemed to be in the way. The restaurant was always clean and tidy, but is now looking dirty. My shoes shouldn't stick to a floor when I walk on it. Oh,,and if you have a Groupon for this place, forget trying to use it. The new owner refuses to honor them. I don't know what caused the former owner to sell, but I'll never go back. read more

This simple Middle Eastern restaurant was a great find. It features a walk - up - and - order format. The service is efficient and no - nonsense. The food is quite tasty. I had the Chicken Shawarma plate with cole slaw and fries while my wife had a Beef Shawarma Pita. We were both very happy with our choices. The facility is nothing elaborate but it is clean and comfortable with a decent seating capacity. We were able to get out of there for less than $10 per person, which included food, drink, tax and tip. I thought this was a good deal. This was first visit; not inclined to make a second in the immediate future. We ordered carryout. HIGH POINTS - Food was mostly hot, order was mostly complete and mostly on time. And, yes, we ordered ahead and arrived at the designated time. The portions are quite large and well packaged and prices are very reasonable. The Sharama wrap was good (if you like well done or dry meat). However, I do not. Mine was beef and chicken. While the wrap was as ordered, it lacked enough moisture to derive much pleasure. Extra sauce should be included or at least offered. Also, There was no sauce/dip with chicken wings. Unfortunately, I was not at home where I would have access to preferred condiments/dips. Since the wings bordered on being overdone, a sauce was essential for added flavor. Didn't happen. French fries were pretty good, I was told. LOW POINTS While the large Onion Ring order looked tasty, we'd eaten over a dozen or so before it was mentioned there were no onions to speak of, just breading. Each thought they simply got a ring with shortened onion. Not so. If we decide to try the food here again, we'll remember the necessity of extra sauces. As part of my quest to try as many new places in Michigan and Ohio that I can, I've recently discovered Shawarmaholic. It's a great place for a quick bite to eat, that's very easy on the wallet and high on taste. The only thing I've tried here are the Shawarma sandwiches and the Fatoush Salad. The salad is among the better Fatoush I've had, and the chicken shawarma is amazing, I've have both several times. The meat shawarma was tasty, but I've had better at other places. For this price point though, you can't beat it. 5 stars on the food. 5 stars on the speed of service. 4 stars on the atmosphere, it seems more like a deli counter than a restaurant and sometimes the music is a little loud. 4 stars on the actual location. It's in a strip mall with a tiny parking lot, depending on the time of day it's very hard to find parking. Overall I'd give 4.5 stars if I was allowed to give half star ratings. read more

A bit above average chicken shawarma--has varied in quality on my three visits. The first time I thought it was amazing (had it in a fatoush salad) and would have given it five stars if I'd yelped right away. The second time (in a to-go combo platter for two) I thought it was good, but not exceptional. Was about the same, tastewise, the third time around (another fatoush) though it may have spent a little too much time on the grill. Hummus, tabouli are decent. Salad vegetables have been fresh, though the dressing is a bit bland, and you may want to ask for it on the side. I didn't the first time I had a salad and they drowned it. Probably about the best middle eastern choice in the immediate vicinity, short of running down to Beirut (which is not nearly as quick or inexpensive). I'm in the area a few times a week and will get a lunch there now and then, but probably won't become a Shawarmaholic-holic. read more

With a name like Shawarmaholic it's gotta be good, right? Happily, the restaurant lives up to its awesome name! The beef shawarma sandwich (it's a wrap) is perfectly juicy and bursting with flavor. The chicken shawarma sandwich was stuffed with fries and a garlic spread- good flavors but the chicken was a little dry. We tried the falafel too- it was a little overcooked and had a strange flavor I wasn't expecting, better to stick to the shawarma here. Fries were super fresh and crispy though! For a mere $4 for a wrap, this place is a steal for the great food you get, definitely will be coming back soon to try their hummus! read more

Two stars for friendliness. Ordered the "Shawarma Per Pound" and requested half chicken, half gyro. It comes with Hummus, French Fries, Sauce, Coleslaw... When I got home to the family is when I saw the meat. The largest piece of both the chicken and gyro was about a quarter inch square. The rest was just crumbles and bits smaller than an eraser on a pencil. Most pieces were hard and crunchy. I have always gone to Rumors or J&Gs for gyros. I used a Groupon to test out this place, since I live in the Westgate area. It would be a few miles closer to home and more convenient. I would only go to Shawarmaholic for the gyro meat and since the meat was such a major disappointment, I will continue to go the extra couple of miles to get my gyros at Rumor's. **Rumor's on Monroe Street near the Mall has AWESOME gyro meat.** The place looked clean, the cucumbers and onions were fresh, the sauce was different, but I liked it. Fattoush salad had wilted lettuce, a few cucumbers, 3 small tomato slices, onion and soggy pita chips. No green pepper. Mmmmm just like mom makes! This place is at the bottom of the drive way from the Hampton Inn that Im staying at so I decided to give them a try, I ordered the lamb and beef wrap extra meat, feta with a small greek salad as well as falafel. Everything was delicious and fresh. I discovered that the medium salad is only a dollar more but you get alot more. The first time that I came my wrap looked very big. Each time after I came the wraps were much smaller, I also ordered the chicken and beef mix. i wouldnt suggest it. On that night the chicken was dry and messed up my beef. However this place is awesome and I have frequented several tomes since i have been in the area and in my Arnold Schwarzenegger voice " I will be back." read more

IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE FOOD POISONED, DONT COME HERE. I just ate 2 chicken shawarma wraps and it tasted good until after about 6 hours, I was trying to sleep but I couldn't. I had nausea and stomach ache for about 1:30mins. As my stomach urged me to throw up I couldn't. After that, it became very painful for another 20mins then I managed to throw up; like heavily. I was skeptical in the beginning cause they have small place for dinning in but we were traveling and needed to stop for lunch. Best food we had in the whole trip . We tried their Gyro, chicken shawarma, grilled kabob, Pashamil pasta, and salads. Everything was excellent, rich in flavors, and large portion. It was a lot of food , dinner portion for lunch price. Expecting the Chicken Shawara wrap was going to be good, hence the name of the business, it was disappointing. In fairness, two stars because the food is tasty. That being said, the service sucks. Buyer beware: if you order the family meal by the pound, that pound of meat is actually half a pound. They tell you they carefully measure, but they don't, and they fill the bottom of the container with soggy lettuce, so that half pound container of meat isn't even all meat in weight. Shawarmaholic was next to my hotel. I was hungry and tired so I didn't want to go too far for food. I'm glad I tried them out. They're good. I had the beef and lamb wrap my 1st time in for lunch. It was so good that I return that night for dinner. I got the Kefta wrap. I was impressed. Very good use of spices and lots of flavor. The wraps have a good crust from searing on the grill. Maybe I caught this place on a bad night because it fell way below its Yelp rating. I placed my order through Eat 24 and ordered the Lamb & Beef Gyro and Chicken Shawarma from the What's Good Menu. Unfortunately neither was very good. The chicken was so dry that I could only eat half until I gave up on it. The lamb beef was over cooked and crunchy. It still had good flavor and I could tell it would have been really good if cooked properly. I would not recommend this place to other visitors at the Hampton Inn. read more

I am so happy about this place! We just got take out and got the chicken and beef plate, a greek salad and just added to the menu vegetarian grape leaves. The salad and dressing were perfect. A crisp and fresh greek salad with creamy feta and a tangy red wine and oregano dressing. Wonderfully fresh cucumber and tomato and olives were also a welcome addition. The shwarma was very good. Excellent french fries and garlic sauce. PERFECT grape leaves. chewy fresh warm pita. Creamy garlic sauce. Everything just right. The meat had excellent flavor, the chicken was a tad on the dry side, but we fixed that with lots of garlic sauce. The prices were excellent. I will be back again and again! read more
