I decided to gift myself two small tattoos for my birthday on 3/2023. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the conversations, and the tattoo artist did a lovely job with fine lined tattoos. She has experience with fine lined tattooing which is few and far in between to find. I appreciated the directions on how to let them heal and to keep the protective sheet on since it is an easier method to help health on their own. I contemplated back and forth on leaving this review because I hate to say anything negative but I felt like this would be an important and helpful tip for future clientele. This review is for Inkbyness. I was tattooed by her recently and although I didn't really feel welcome, this review is mainly for her sanitary procedures. I would have to say the experience was very uncomfortable and I would hope to bring awareness strictly for preventing possible infection in any future clients. First of all, one of the main things that really made me uncomfortable was that she was wearing gloves however not being cautious or aware of everything she was doing or touching. Throughout the appointment, she had a runny nose and was continuously wiping her nose with the gloves on her hands while actively tattooing... she was also constantly fixing her hair or hat with her gloves on, dropping items on the floor and picking them up to put them back on her sterile tray, texting on her phone, as well as drinking with her same gloves and not once did she think to question to change her gloves out until going to the bathroom. Another thing was that her hair was down and being pushed up against all over the tattoo the entire time. And also actively blowing on the outline to get it to dry which I have never seen any other artist do. I have many tattoos and this experience was by far one of the most uncomfortable ones due to the lack of sanitary precaution. I still tipped highly and maintained my composure and politeness throughout all of this because I did not want to create an even more uncomfortable environment. I just really hope to bring awareness to this issue for learning purposes and hopes of improvement. read more

I never leave reviews however, today was a blessing in disguise. I was going to a different hairstylist at a different salon who hadn't called me back for a week or so. She's never done that before but I have been in DIRE need of a cut. After looking and looking I decided I'd give this place a shot. I got Ruth and I'm never turning back. No one has ever cut my hair, including bangs, the way I wanted on the first try. Ruth did. She knocked it completely out of the park all while being warm and inviting the entire time. I went to her flash sale and first of all I didn't feel welcome she looked some type of way, didn't talk during the process at all it was all minimum talk but ok whatever at longest she does a good job I guess she didn't even shave the spots I was getting tattoo on which on my previous tattoos with other artists they have always had to! I didn't say anything and I should of. Here comes the part that pissed me off the sticker she put on my skin wouldn't come off it peeled a bit of my skin off and the rest was so irritated and I have left over glue from the sticker that i have tried washing multiple times but still super sticky thank god they are tiny tattoos because she got all my hairs around the area I have no idea how I was going to get it off because not even water was helping that's how bad it was. Okay, just went back for my 3rd round of tattoo work. This guy is awesome. Don't go anywhere else. Out of the 5 tattoos he's done for me, I haven't been disappointed once. He mixes his own black, respects the style I like, and is very precise. All of the tattoos have dried and flaked minimally. He's better than guys that have been tattooing for 30 years. I know, because I went to a guy that had been tattooing for 30 years and he ruined my neck piece. I'm going to have Erick fix it. I been meaning to update this review because he's been cutting my hair for awhile now and he always manages to give me exactly what I want. I never experienced any attitude from him and if there was attitude maybe I didn't notice it cause I'm not a big freakin' softy! Get over it ladies, he's the shit! Older review I absolutely love my hair! Lorenzo transformed my black goth style to a light summertime look. The price was right and worth every cent and some. I have gone back to Bombshell after the owner contacted me to try another stylist. I had mixed results until I finally found Mike Montgomery last year. Mike has a much better personality and I actually like being around him. He's also open to suggestions and gives his advice in a very professional way (he does tend to like modern cuts and trends). Worst haircut EVER. Just moved to the area and had to find a new place. I loved my old stylist, but really don't want to travel an hour each way. When I arrived I tried to be as descriptive as possible about color (existing color loved, a blend of several overall effect of blonde), like warm tones, full conversation about cool vs warm. Also loved my cut, always left long, never damaged but always a full on razor cut because of my thin hair. It had movement... described all of this to Fernanda, walked in needing a trim/'fill' on the color for growth. Left with 'cool' tones (she said it was because of the toner and would wash out). Was more brown and grayish with a green tinge (??? really)... little to no blonde. The shape was strange, told her she needed to fix it... and she kept cutting and cutting. Finally had to tell her to quit because I'd have no hair left! My bangs were so short the dried strait up & out with sections of missing hair. It was no longer soft and shiny, but very damaged looking, and so dry I couldn't get a brush through it. I spent about two weeks near tears every time I'd start to do my hair. AWFUL. Oh... and it took her 6 hours and was over $200.00 --- Two months later I have to find a new place to get my color touched up. It's finally at the length I used to walk out of my old salon with but I do need to get it cut to fix the shape and get rid of all the damage... Feeling a little gun-shy about finding a new place... but it's time! read more

BOMBSQUAD YO I had a great hair experience today. Well it started off kinda sketchy...the good news is I was early for my appointment. The bad news is, I was an hour early. What the hey, I am never early for anything so big pat on the back for me. So I dwoodled around Beniciaaahhh for an hour. Tried to go park in the shade to take a nap then realized that it might creep the moms out with this lady sitting in her car across from the park so I moved on to food. Fast forward to the salon already... Lorenzo, he's awesome. He saved my hair from the molten mess it had become after not having a hair cut in a year. The decor made it easy for me with all the pin-ups on the wall, I was able to look around and say "I want that", and voila it was done. And the man has some blow drying skills. When I grow up, and I am rich, after I buy Mike (another stylist) all the G.I. Joe's he could ever wish for, I will drive...scratch that...have my driver drive me a half hour to Bombshell to visit the Bombsquad, and have Lorenzo blow dry my hair each and every day. I will bring them truffles, because as a rich person that is all i will eat, but I will be rich so I will also bring my personal liposuction technician, and have Lorenzo hook him/her up with a doo as well. read more

Despite the awful stains last time around I decided to give it another go at Bombshell with Daya (mostly because despite the stains, the cut and color were fab - the end justifies the means). Anyhow went to see Daya last week and had the color redone and a new cut (different style). The cut was EXACTLY what I wanted. Daya really listened to my directions and my issues with my uncut hair and helped me decide the best cut to address those issues. The color is great too. Last time it was a bit more RED (think fire engine) and this time it was a bit more auburn-ish. Still very pretty. While I still had some stains Daya did EVRYTHING she could to keep it from being an issue - think vaseline around my hairline and dye remover on spots. What few marks I had I was able to remove myself with a little rubbing alcohol at home - so no big deal. I will definitely be back to Bombshell for Daya's bomb hair skills and also because I was pleasantly surprised to see an message from the owner, Cheri, in my in-box today making sure I was happy with my services last week. read more

Came here immediately after coming from another salon who did a simple haircut that came out looking a little bowl like. She was a nice girl but still learning, so having her do what Stacy did would've taken hours and a lot of direction. Stacy styled it and cut almost as much hair as the previous salon but made it so much nicer and lighter. I was referred here by a friend. Came in to see John for a tattoo! Well I actually brought my fiancé in as a surprise birthday present. It was also his first ever tattoo. John keeps a very clean shop. He is nice, professional and cares about his work. The way he handled the art my fiancé wanted from the placement of the stencil to the appearance of the tattoo and it's life was remarkable. Very rewarding to see someone doing something they love. John was fast, skilled and kind! We will be back! I love coming here. Megan always does me right. My hair color is perfect and she makes sure I leave looking like a million bucks....or so, LoL. Love the fact that this place not only does hair but they have a tat artist as well. Every employee in this establishment is so nice. They all make you feel welcome and offer you water. It is so clean in there you really could think they don't have much clientele but best believe they do. I've seen people come and go. And never seen anybody leave unhappy. Best place hands down for me. And I've been around the block or two in this area to find a hairdresser that can handle all this hair. This is my first review so bear with me. So I was looking to do something new with my hair that hasn't been cut for sometime and colored in who knows how long. I was recommended by a friend at the gym to check this place out and referred me to Lorenzo. Okay....fast forward another year an now I'm really seriously thinking about cut and color. Talk to some coworkers and one coworker highly recommended Lorenzo as well. Okay game for me. My friend calls for me and within a matter of a day he calls me back and I'm all set for cut and color. Fast forward a week on a Wednesday afternoon, a rather warm day, walked in to the place having absolutely no clue to what to do so I just showed myself a seat and waited. Within that matter of time waiting the lovely people were quite nice offering water, hence the warm day, and were overall very upbeat people. Oh, added note the interior decor had such a modern/retro feel to it. Nice touch. The big deal for me comes up and to sum it up in a nutshell I was really impressed with Lorenzos work and the keen eye for the style he gave me. I provided him with the details I wanted and he did nothing short but delivered. Gave me a great cut and the subtle color of purple I was looking for. (next time around I will probably take the plunge and go bold...) A first experience that went superbly well for me. Took his time and made me feel comfortable. Allowed him to focus on what he does best with occassional good conversation. (that's just me..quiet and not the outspoken type of lady.) I must say this is a great place with the cool decor, cool people and overall the atmosphere. Come out with a great cut and color. It's all good. I would highly recommend. Bringing this up to a two-star review because Lorenzo is doing the right thing and giving the bride a refund. I am sure if you go to the salon it would be a whole different situation working with him. Brides and Bridal Parties BEWARE!!!! If you are looking for a wet blanket to be thrown over the whole pre-festivity atmosphere while being completely unapologetic over making the whole affair run an hour and a half late-(his excuse..."these things ALWAYS run late!" and now we know why!)- by all means, call Lorenzo. If you want to be over-charged by a hundred bucks for a rushed frizzy up-do that looks nothing like what you asked him to do but there isn't any time to fix it cause your hair is holding up the whole wedding - by all means, call Lorenzo. If you want your best-friend-for-life-maid-of-honor to not have the honor of signing your wedding license...or want to have to pay the photographer extra to stay later because everyone wasn't ready on time for pictures cause your sour stylist ran unacceptably and unaccountably late with no apologies...by all means, call Lorenzo. So...Brides and Bridal parties beware. If Lorenzo had any inclination towards doing the right thing, he'd give about $100 back to help offset the added costs that his tardiness incurred. There is no price for the memories he made me miss out on. And for the record, neither of our hair was what we wanted it to be. read more

The staff at Bombshell are always very courteous when I walk in. I have always gotten my hair different each time whether it be just a haircut or both a haircut and color. Lorenzo has been doing my hair since 2004. I drive to see him from San Francisco every few months or so, depending on my son's schedule (he's 17 months old). I have never been disappointed with his work. Every time I get a cut or color from him, my friends and even total strangers compliment my hair. I have been an on-going client of his for the last 2 years and it never ceases to amaze me how striking my hair looks after he works his magic. I always go for a color job with highlights.
