The clinician who saw me was eager to diagnose my issue as a virus that needed to run its course rather than listening to me when I advocated for myself since I knew what was wrong. It's super close to me but I'll hesitate to return in the future. I'd rather go to Patient First for a slightly better experience.

This is exactly the person you want swabbing your kid if they have sensory issues like mine does. She quickly put him at ease thanks to her friendly professionalism, and got in & out of his nose as gently as could be expected. His rapid test came back negative but they suggested the 72 hour one to rule out false negative. We were so relieved that Tamika was the person who came back out because she had already establish trust with him and then was really cool explaining to him the difference between the first and second test - in how they feel and in how long they take, and why. When someone takes the time to make sure my kid understands what's happening, I find it so refreshing and praise worthy. OK so I made this appointment by phone, they got us in within the hour, we were early and they came out to see us promptly. It's a pull up so everything was done curbside The lady who helped me make the appointment was very patient with all my questions, (this is our first time getting a Covid test) I mean just so friendly and kind about it. ... Friendly Staff, But Serious Cleanliness Concerns…read more I am new to the Ladysmith area and needed to visit PACS Urgent Care on a Sunday. Since I had an open wound and was concerned about the possibility of infection, I was grateful to find somewhere nearby that was open and able to see me. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed by the cleanliness of the facility. While sitting in the patient room, I became genuinely nauseous looking around at the amount of visible dirt and the overall condition of the room. In any medical facility, cleanliness is important, but when you are being treated for an open wound and infection is the primary concern, it is especially troubling. I do want to give credit where it is due: every staff member I encountered was extremely friendly, kind, and welcoming. Their attitude and customer service were definitely the bright spot of my visit and helped make an otherwise disappointing experience more positive. I hope management takes the cleanliness of the facility seriously and makes improvements, because the staff themselves made a very good impression.

My co-pays was same as a specialty doctor. It is important to ask if they are in-network. Clean waiting area. I handed the paper to the front desk, and I explained the exact message from my doctor to at least three nurses. Then I explained it again to a doctor, and after keeping me there for an hour and a half, charging me for a full emergency room visit, they informed me that those tests are not something that they are capable of running at that facility. So they would need to transfer me to a hospital and check me in. Then they discharged me "Against Medical Advice" because I wasn't interested in them transferring me immediately to a hospital to become an inpatient there. They found absolutely nothing on my exam that would warrant transferring me to a hospital immediately. They only had my note from my ophthalmologist saying that he wanted these two tests to be run and that I should go to an ER and request those two tests. Why didn't they tell me that, when I walked in the front door with my Dr note on official letterhead, telling exactly which tests my ophthalmologist wanted them to run? Why did they waste my time and charge me for an emergency room visit when they could have told me immediately, at the front desk, that they cannot do those tests and that I should just go to the regular Dr instead? What a ridiculous way to respond to a request they already knew they were not equipped to fulfill. I walked in unassisted, clearly not in any emergency condition, simply because of the ophthalmologist' poor understanding of what the ER offers.

The sign said 10 minutes for a wait, but we were greeted as soon as we got in and taken back almost immediately. The two nurses immediately got his history and vitals. Dr. Parker was in shortly after and he was great! As he was explaining the diagnostics and what they were for, he made sure to talk directly to my 10 year old and use terms he'd understand. That made my son feel so much more comfortable. We had results shortly after the tests were done. I will definitely be sure to come back here next time we need urgent care. I've always been happy with HCA hospitals but it's so nice to have a satellite location nearby.
