Had a great experience when I visited on a Tuesday around 1:30pm for lunch. It was not busy at all and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Located in the shopping center across from Park Road Shopping center. Plenty of parking to choose from. It's downstairs where "Easy like Sunday" is located at. I ordered a "Bowl" which consisted of rice, carrots, veggies and chicken. It came in a piping hot bowl which made the food taste even better! Not a bad place for lunch and will return to try other things on their menu.

Although pricey, the food is very fresh and delicious. The fried Korean chicken is very crunchy. We ordered several different dishes and we all just shared everything. We went right during lunch hour and it was surprisingly slow and quiet. The service was quick and the food was super hot and fresh. Lots of parking due to the establishment being inside a shopping center. Lots of monthly specials and lunch specials available.

Bonchon in Charlotte was great, to say the least. We ordered their Bulgogi fries which were, excellent. We shared their 10-piece soy garlic wings with a side of white rice, and I had no complaints there. Overall, the food was great, Bonchon never disappoints.

The service was great. The restaurant is fairly clean. The fried chicken is super crunchy with lots of flavor. The menu does offer other things that I would love to try.

I love Bonchon's wings. Their soy garlic flavor is always fresh with an amazing crunch that makes me want to keep coming back for more. I have eaten inside this establishment twice and the service is always fast and efficient. I have doordashed from this location 3 times and 2 out of the 3 times they gave me full size chicken legs instead of the wings I ordered. Very strange.

Loved the Chicken here it was very tasty. It's a nice spot in the busy Woodlawn area. Customer service was decent, but I'd come back for the food most certainly.

I stopped here again (once in a LONG time!) during lunch...and tried their Chicken Lunch Special (4 Drumsticks), with Radish (and also added Kimchi). Plus, I tried their Bulgogi Bao Buns as well. As always, their double-fried Chicken Drumstick was super-duper-crispy and drenched in flavor...YUM! Bulgogi Bao Buns were good...but somehow I thought they could have been better. Bulgogi wasn't popping with deep flavor (the way I like it), and the Bao Buns weren't warm (the way I like it). Still, I had no problem eating all of it. This wasn't a 5-star meal...but talk about a value-packed meal! The Chicken Lunch Special, which comes with 1 choice side, was only $10.99...probably cheaper than what you'd pay at McD's for Chicken Nuggets and Fries? Service was really good...fast, friendly and attentive! I live closer to South Charlotte, so I've been to the Bonchon on PIneville-Matthews Road more. Although the one on Pineville-Matthews is newer and more updated (with red booths!), I kind of like the vibe here more. I do wish they had on some festive overhead music. If I recall, there wasn't ANY overhead music...which kinda dampened the ambiance of the place. In any case, I'm definitely up for returning for more of their K-Chicken!

Ordered to go, chicken was soggy and half the size of the bun. Not very good either. Will not order again.

Food was amazing, loved the customer service!!! I loved the crispy wings and fried dumplings.

The place is modern asian fusion cuisine, particularly on the emphasis of Korean based dishes. Place is a pretty casual feel akin to a quieter version of a sports bar but with a couple TVs. So don't expect it to get super lively as such. What makes this place worth a try is definitely the food. Their main specialty are street style Korean Fried Chicken. They come in a variety of flavor options, and are double fried to perfection. My personal recommendation is the Soy Garlic flavor. Despite their street style of food, they also have more traditional options such as Chicken Katsu, Japchae, and the signature Korean staple: Bulgogi and Bibimbap. Bibimbap is a notable dish because it is served on a hot stone bowl and it can fill you up by itself. My recommendation of protein is Soy Garlic and Bibimbap (shredded beef). As for services, the waitress that hosted us during our Saturday visit was very attentive and always took notice of what's going on at our table wether is a dropped utensil, or a refilled drink. Some things I actually noticed is that she was demonstrating traditional *asian specific* etiquette and respect whenever she interacted with our table. Props to her for going the extra effort to understand Korean/Japanese mannerism. So with the great experience, why 4 stars? Its honestly due to a smaller menu as well as pricing. Don't get me wrong, the food is excellent, and the proportions are agreeable. Its just that $70 for 4 people can go a long way in similar options nearby. All I'm saying is to offer cheaper menu options on the dinner side. This would allow a larger variety of people to come in for more casual eating. As for now, I'll visit this place more for special occasions. Overall verdict? Definitely give this place a try! I highly recommend Bibimbap. Just eat slowly since the hot bowl might burn you.

The service wasn't great. The chicken was. Fries and chicken were crispy and had good flavor. Was pretty busy when we got there. We had to stand up to find the server a few times. But other than that nothing special.

Korean fried chicken came highly recommended to me and Bonchon was the only place I knew in CLT that had it. The location I've frequented the most is E. Woodlawn. The restaurant is very casual, so it's the perfect spot to go with friends or family when you just want a relaxing, chill vibe. The staff has always been friendly, patient, and the food stellar. In terms of Korean Fried Chicken, the chicken is super crispy, well seasoned and I always have mine drizzled in soy garlic sauce. The sauce had a light sweetness to its savor, but it's not a sugar rush. Please note that prices may have changed as this review is a combination of visits I've had over the years. Signature Drumsticks (5-count)- ($13.55) Small Wings + Drums Combo (6 Wings/3 Drums) - ($14.05) Coleslaw - The coleslaw is okay, it wasn't memorable, but it wasn't bad either. However, coleslaw is always hit or miss at restaurants. Seasoned Fries ($5.95)- Crispy, seasoned goodness. Love their fries. Seasoned Zucchini Fries ($8.95) - the name is misleading. I was expecting zucchini in a fry shape, but this was just regular ol' fried zucchini. The name tells the truth with the word seasoned because this was some of the best fried zucchini I've had in life. It may just be in the number one spot. Since it was so good, the shape doesn't even matter. It's minuscule compared to the taste. Takoyaki ($7.15) - fried octopus dumplings drizzled with Japanese mayo, katsu sauce, and sprinkled with bonito flakes. - the highlight of this appetizer aside from the taste is the crispy outside that is paired with the soft octopus filling. I loved every bite.

Whole table of all the food we ordered! Minus the minor cutoff of the pork buns.

This was an amazing place to visit! The ambiance of the restaurant was so relaxing but yet, fun enough to have a conversation with friends! The food was so good! If you love spicy, get their spicy flavored items, it will leave your mouth burning! I was going to give a 4.5, only because the shrimp in the Shrimp Shumai was baby shrimp and a few came without the shrimp but I gave a 5.0 because everything else was really good and when we took it home and reheated it in the oven the next day, it was still good. The leftovers tasted just as good as the initial order! Our waiter H. Jin was so kind and helpful the whole evening with explaining their menu items and giving suggestions. You have to try it at least once! All the food we ordered: Pork Buns, Fried Rice, French Fries, Korean BBQ Wings, Spicy Wings, SoyGarlic Boneless, Spicy Potstickers, Half & Half Potstickers, Shrimp Shumai, White Steamed Rice.

After seven years, I finally made it back to this K-BBQ staple, and it remains one of the most…read moreconsistent and high-quality dining experiences I've had. From the premium cuts of meat to the impressive variety of side dishes and soups, every element is executed perfectly. Two things really set them apart: the meat portions are perfectly sized, and the variety of dipping sauces is on another level. Even during a busy service, the staff is attentive and the food comes out incredibly fast. Having traveled and eaten at top-tier spots in Los Angeles and New York City, I can confidently say this place holds its own against the best in the nation.

So I went to this restaurant all the time in my early twenties. It was very warm and inviting. The…read morelighting was bright but warm and the booths were this beautiful wood. The prices were still $30 a head. I don't think there was a time limit for how long you could stay then. Now it's $40 a head (which inflation.... I get it) with a two hour limit. My main issue is the ambiance is horrible!!! They painted the big wooden booths with this cheap sticky black paint that's slowly coming off. I was wearing shorts and it was PAINFUL if I got up too quickly. The lighting is cold and uncomfortable. It's not a welcoming place to dine anymore. A completely depressing environment. Everything looks like it's in disrepair and being very poorly maintained. The quality of the meats has gone down as well. The sides were not fresh. Especially the cucumbers. This is no hate to the staff but almost everyone that worked there seemed miserable as well. They did a great job but it just seemed like they all were sad for some reason. I truly think it's the environment. I would hate working at such a depressing restaurant. The staff were attentive and consistently checking on us. They never left us alone for too long! There was one guy with glasses that was exceptional. He was great with the small details of serving. Always pre bused something from the table every time he came by. If you're smart you will bump his hourly and make him a shift manager/ trainer. The staff is the reason I'm not giving one star. Korean culture is vibrant and fun! Please hang up some art work and posters. Hire someone to remove that god awful sticky paint! Which I know you can't clean properly. Change the lightbulbs to warm lighting. Put out some fun decor on the tops of the booths. Make your restaurant into a place people naturally feel happy to be at. Paint over that black wall in the back and fill it from top to bottom with Korean art work as an accent wall! Or put in giant decorative shelves with plants and collectible Korean toys. DO ANYTHING FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
