So, if you've never been to a Korean fried chicken place, this is one of the better ones. To be fair in this area and Denver and anywhere in between, there aren't many choices. With that said if you like fried chicken, if you like wings and you wanna try some thing different unique and delicious. This is your place. To my understanding, Korean fried chicken is fried twice, which gives you that extra crispiness and also locks in the chicken flavor and keeps it moist inside. They offer unique dishes on the Korean side, such as pickled radish, cucumber salad, Bulgogi over rice, and many other unique choices. Like many of the other places I go to this is a unique place to eat compared to all the generic places around here. I always look forward to coming. I ordered the mixed chicken, which includes six wings and three regular sized drumsticks. They have different flavors but they go to original is their soy garlic. I've tried their spicy. I've tried the occasional Korean barbecue flavor, but none of them compared to the original. It comes with one side, so I took the pickled radish, and I ordered a side of Bulgogi along with the cucumber salad. All of it was delicious. The outside is very clean and new. There's plenty of parking. Inside the restaurant is very clean and often busy, but I've never had a problem finding a table to sit at. The wait staff is very attentive as well. It is priced about what wings are at most places these days - $2/wing. The bulgogi was delicious, but a bit on the higher side, about $22 for what you get, was a bit lighter in the size of the serving. But hey, that happens and when we got the national $5 wing day deal we decided we were excited to try again. Well. This location decided that just weren't participating. Please keep in mind ALL Bonchons are participating - per corporate. The "manager" just "said so." I wanted to talk to him and they wouldn't let me. Whoever I talked to said they didn't know his name. They wouldn't give me his number. Incredibly rude and condescending. Said they can't do anything. I told them it's a national promotion and they just didn't care. Is this normal?? This was the second and last time I will every go to this restaurant. The staff are very rude and unaccommodating if you are a person with a disability. The first time we went I had my service dog clearly marked with her vest very visible. The person at the front initially told I could not bring my service dog in until we had a disagreement over what the ADA and Department of Justice rules are regarding Service Animals and what he could not be asking me. Well, the entire meal was very uncomfortable, and service was substandard due to this disagreement. The food was okay and I swore I would never return again due to the treatment of a person with a disability. The next time was Sunday, I swore I would not return, so this time I left my Service dog due to having another person in our party who has a foot issue and uses a knee scooter. We entered Bon Chon's again, and the reception was no different. When we requested a table out of the way due to leave the knee scooter in the aisle, the kid rudely stated "NO" those tables are reserved for larger parties. This person ended up being our waiter and you could feel the tension the entire meal. Now we spent $90, the meal was decent, but it was a 25 minute drive each way. Was it worth it, hell no and I will never go back again. If you are an older person with any type of disability avoid this business at all costs it's not worth being treated this way and I am praying the ADA and Department of Justice will be looking into the way this business operates. Also, the tables are so close together it appears to be a fire hazard as well as a tripping hazard due to narrow aisles. If you want to enjoy a good Korean dinner, avoid this business. read more

Ordered take out, and was very excited to try everything. The chain is very popular. Service was fast. Inside was nice. I ordered sotteok sotteok, which was rice cake and sausage on a skewer. The rice cake was chewy and crispy, the sauce was a nice flavor, sweet with a kick of spice. I also got the yum drum trio which came with 3 drumsticks, side of fries and a Korean donut. It was a nice surprise since I didn't know the Korean donut came woth it. The dumb sticks were juicy and the breading was crispy, only thing was some areas were more salty than over, like the marinate was not coated eventually, overall the chicken was moist and the fries were crispy. The Korean donut was really good, it was super fluffy, and the sauce was a good. Not overly sweet. My only complaint is they put it in the same container so the sauce kinda seep through to the donut. Lastly i got the pork bao buns, theres 3 options to choose from, the flavors were nice, the only thing was the pork was really hard to chew on. Other than that it was really good. First time at Bonchon and wow -- I'm already planning my next visit. We ordered the 8-piece chicken with their sweet and spicy sauce (not sure what it's officially called), but it was incredible. I was expecting your typical small chicken wing size, but these were huge -- almost like what you'd find in a traditional KFC bucket, just slightly smaller. Super filling and ridiculously good. Perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and honestly the best fried chicken I've ever had -- no exaggeration. We also tried the Bulgogi fries, and while the fries themselves were solid, the Bulgogi beef and toppings totally stole the show. The beef was tender and rich with flavor, and the cheese and fresh garnishes pulled it all together for a delicious, indulgent bite. Tried a Korean corn dog for the first time too! I expected a hot dog in the middle, but it was all gooey mozzarella -- and I wasn't even mad about it. The outside was coated in crispy potato chunks like you'd see on a traditional Korean corn dog, and the cheese pull was super satisfying. Crispy outside, melty inside -- so good. Last but not least, the dumplings were fantastic. Topped with a sweet-and-sour teriyaki-style glaze, they had a hand-crafted feel with a tasty pork and vegetable filling that was juicy and flavorful. I saw the reviews when this location first opened and I waited for the team to work out the new business kinks before coming in and it was worth the wait! I got the 4 pc drumsticks with pickled radish and it was incredible! And the drumsticks were much bigger than I anticipated! Super crispy skin and the flavors were incredible! We ordered Togo tonight and had about a 20 min drive home. The chicken was still delicious and crispy. We got the soy garlic flavor and it was really tasty. We also ordered the pork belly boa buns. This is possibly the worst food my family and I have ever eaten in my life. The fried chicken was soggy, leathery dry, and cooked with rancid oil and thus had a horrible bitter aftertaste. Th bibimbop was topped with a lot of soggy lettuce! The Bulgogi was flavorless and the coleslaw tasted off. I don't foresee that this branch of Bonchon will stay open for long. Don't support this business they fail to pay employees on time sometimes even skipping a paycheck or two, and their service as a customer is straight up awful. Managers and staff will often talk bad of customers right in front of them in a different language, Food took will often take 20-40 minutes for a single plate, even though on a busy day they at most have 10 mouths to feed. Driving into the Springs recently, I looked over while at a stoplight on Interquest and saw the sign for Bonchon, snapped a pic, and told my spouse we needed to check this place out. I've spent some time in Korea and fell in love with its style of chicken. So last night, both of us too tired to cook, we decided to order in. My spouse looked over the menu and placed an order for 24 "strips" of chicken, half soy garlic, half spicy, plus edamame, onion rings, and coleslaw. I wondered for a millisecond if it was really all that wise ordering delivery from a restaurant more than ten miles away from us and thought they might not even allow it because we could very well be outside the delivery radius. But alas, the order on Door Dash went through. Sadly, when it finally arrived, everything in the plastic bag was wet like it had been opened and walked through a downpour. I tried to find the source, but all I found was a LOT of condensation everywhere and the large paper chicken box was crushed into a heap because the moisture would not let it hold its shape. I quickly transferred the edamame to a glass bowl and sprinkled them with flaky salt because they were under seasoned. I then got out a large glass platter and placed the onion rings on it atop paper towels to soak up all the grease. Then I transferred the chicken, which would be better described as cutlets instead of strips, to the plate. Only the coleslaw arrived unharmed because it was in a plastic container, however, it is not the "dry" and crunchy kind but a very watery, sopping slaw drowning in white liquid. We enjoyed the chicken, which is pretty sweet and has good flavor. The edamame was good, and the onion rings are the thick, sweet white onions dipped in tempura batter. My only recommendation is that the restaurant either choose not to deliver more than five-ish miles away OR invest in better-quality packaging (preferably not plastic, but perhaps heavier compostable containers) so that the food isn't so compromised in transit. read more

I've been dying to try this place! Tonite we finally made it happen. We drove over from Cimarron Hills and were not greeted when we entered. There was one other person ahead of us who was standing in line at a register also not being attended = No Bueno. I looked around to see if I saw someone & finally I did - he was sitting at a table and looked like he was taking a phone order. So now I'm guessing they might be understaffed. Ok - it happens. So we wait not more than 5min & the guy in front of us is helped & when it's determined that we are dining in we are invited to find the table of our choice & told that menus will be brought over. Once seated as promised menus are delivered within a minute or two & drink order was taken immediately - A good sign. We take a few minutes to look over the menu & we all decide on our food. Hubby orders the 4 wing/4 drums, an order of fries & a beer, my daughter orders the Tteokbokki & a Pepsi and we were warned it's spicy, we asked if we could taper down the spice level & told that we could not because this meal is meant to get spicier the more you eat it- but our daughter wanted it anyway, lastly I ordered 8 piece strips, I asked if I could do 4 strips/4wings since they are the same price I was told no I cannot they just don't do that (even tho they sell wing/drum combos ) So I ordered 8 strips 4 plain just seasoned fried chicken strips & 4 sweet & spicy (I can't remember the sauce name) strips (which were supposed to come with complimentary coleslaw or pickled radishes this was not offered & when I asked about it he just nodded at me) with an order of seasoned zucchini fries, & a Pepsi. Food was delivered very quickly & it was fresh (a plus) however my plain fried chicken was under seasoned, the sauced chicken strips weren't overly sauced, but the flavor of the sauce was very overpowering to the chicken. The zucchini fries were absolutely delicious & cooked perfectly. It's worth noting the pickled radishes never came & were never mentioned after I asked for them. (Chicken 6/10) (zucchini 10/10) My husband liked his chicken he liked the crispiness of it but found the same sauce I found over powering to also be over powering he got a different sauce on the other half of his order which he enjoyed very much & his fries were yummy. He said his beer tasted like a beer lol. (6/10) My daughters food was beyond spicy & way too spicy for her to eat- I tried it & I couldn't get past the sickness - so she ended up sharing food with my husband & I. I agree we were warned however they could benefit from offering less spicy options of this dish, just a suggestion because she loves the rice cakes & enjoys a certain measure of spice. (4/10) Overall the server was nice & the food & drink delivery was good, I can't say service because of being unattended upon our arrival & inflexibility with the menu & offering a complimentary menu item that's supposed to come standard with Chicken orders then not delivering said item & making your customer point it out (not to mention never offering it to begin with) it's dishonest. Lastly the bill $96 for the 3 of us. I'm not sure what to think of that based on the food & experience. I think combo options at a better price point & more menu flexibility would go a long way. read more

The service was exceptional and so welcoming. I was asked if there were any questions to the menu as I was ordering to go. As I sat down to wait on my food, I was approached twice to see if I needed anything while I waited. The ambiance is colorful, appropriate to the Asian fusion and nicely spread out so that you're not seated right on top of each other. I ordered the Spicy Fried Chicken wings and Chicken Teokbokki. I will say that if you're in the mood for spicy hot then you definitely want to order the Teokbokki. I had to breathe in between each bite lol. It came with rice and my choice of radish. The spicy fried chicken wings were made just the way I like it. It wasn't overly breaded, the chicken was tender and it had a nice flavor to it. Walking in, I was just about blocked by all the food delivery people and other customers milling around waiting for their food. It was difficult to even know where to go to order food until the crowd cleared some. The gentleman at the counter handed me a takeout menu and helped me figured out what I wanted to order. Prices seemed a little high, but hey, this IS Colorado Springs. They told me it was going to take about 10 minutes for my order. This was when I started reading the Yelp reviews. And noticing the place did seem a little dirty. After only about 5 minutes, my order was ready. Not bad at all! Let me say this, I loved the food. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoning was delicious. The kimchi and pickled radishes(?) were perfect sides. Sadly, the only negative parts could be solved by reworking their entrance and getting some additional help. They do have signs posted looking for workers. Bonchon offers some great fried chicken, with excellent frying and breading of fried chicken , but ends up lacking in other areas and is too expensive. We got the combo wings and drumsticks with half soy garlic and half Korean bbq. The breading is so good on the chicken, it is exceptionally crispy due to the double frying and keeps stuck to the chicken. The sauces are descent but not super delicious. The wings and drumsticks are large as well which means more food but then there are large parts of the chicken further from the breading and sauce that have no flavor, just cooked chicken. Not the worst thing in the world but makes you wish they were either smaller or included more sauce to dip in. The fries were really good as well, super crispy. I trust Bonchon with frying. Kimchi was good and what you expect. Pickled radishes were very sweet but not bad. Bibimbap was descent, came out very hot and the sauce had a descent spice to it. The egg was scrambled which meant it didn't add some moisture that you get from a less cooked egg. I wish the restaurant wasn't a sit down restaurant, wish you could just order from the front. Now I have to tip for some not worthwhile service at an already pretty expensive place. Having to pay over $3 for a pretty small serving of kimchi feels like a scam compared to a regular Korean restaurant where it comes with the meal. The fried chicken here is cooked so well but ends up with average sauces and average other items. If Bonchon wasn't so expensive where I have to add an additional tip, this would be an easy 4 stars. But because of that it brings it down to 3 stars. I still recommend coming to try the chicken. read more

If you love fried chicken then check out Bonchon. Yes, it is a chain but I was impressed on the service and how nice the servers were. We enjoyed their wing and drumstick combo chicken with the soy garlic and korean bbq sauces. The soy garlic was my favorite and the combo of the two types of chicken is the way to go if you want variety. The chicken is fried in a much lighter batter than American chicken which gives it more of a crunch. Inside the chicken was juicy and flavorful and the outside was coated with the sauces. We also had the seasoned fried and the kimchi, which were both delicious. Our total was around $45 which was very fair considering how much food we were served. There were also other dishes on the menu, if fried chicken isn't your thing. read more

My husband and I ate here a few weeks ago. All the service staff was very friendly. The food came out quickly. The area has a very high ceiling so inside noise can be a bit distracting. As far as food, it was tasty. We ordered boneless so there was more breading than chicken. Next time I will order regular wings. When the staff warns you about how spicy the spicy is, believe them! Ok. Here we go. New Korean chicken place. I have no experience with this chain but people seemed excited.... so off we went. Because.... Korean fried chicken and amazing apps. We started with the pot stickers.... amazing. I don't know what portal to heaven these came out of but the wrapper was thin, the filling delightful and the soy garlic sauce was amazing. These had an amazing light fry on them and were fantastic. Next up were the bao which were nom. The fluffy of the bao was fluffy af yall.....pillow of love with pork, veggies and sauce. Just the right amount of heat to counter the cold and fluff. If there was a trifecta, this was it. Chicken Katsua was next. It fell flat across the board in both texture and taste. It was very dry and the rice was cold.... not good. Made me sad. I expected better. I expected better because the boneless nuggets with soy garlic took the cake. Giant knobs of chicken, fried perfectly and the sauce was on point. Could have used more sauce but I'm just gluttonous. Sides were picked radish and coleslaw. Fantastic food! We tried the Potstickers, House Fried Rice, Udon Noodle Soup, Korean fried chicken wings and drumsticks, and the Japchae. Everything was absolutely delicious! The place was absolutely jammed on a Friday night, but service was very polite and quick enough considering their busyness. This is my first time trying Korean food and I love it.
