We placed an order with Bonchon for my wife's birthday on 10/1.Pickup went fine and everything was ready right around the time we had scheduled. We ordered medium boneless half spicy half soy garlic. The coating on the wings was so hard we could barely chew it. The chicken inside was dried out to the point of barely being edible. To make matters worse there was barely any sauce on the wings. These wings were terrible and we ended up throwing most of them away. We went from being excited for birthday wings to absolute crushing disappointment. We will definitely look elsewhere for wings in the future. read more

I think this place's owner also owns the next door food place. However, the counter person who has an Asian feature at this place has a doubled face. She portrays herself that she knows customer service. After she thought she has provided "excellent" customer service, she turned back and said something inappropriate. I regret going here. This location is nothing less than fantastic. I ended up ordering quite a lot as I had a little get together with family but everyone had loved the food. The amount that we got was definitely worth what we paid and there were no leftovers at all whatsoever. We ended up ordering a large set of chicken wings (half spicy/half soy garlic), pork buns, potstickers, fries, and chicken katsu. The wings were hot and flavorful, the fries were crispy, the pork buns were super fresh, and everything tasted so good. Likewise to other locations in the area, this restaurant did not disappoint one bit. I will definitely be here for more in the near future! read more

I ordered 20 pieces of Korean fried chicken over grubhub since I was put on a long hold while trying to make an order over the phone. Anyways, I received confirmation via text and email throughout the process from grubhub and made my way over once I got a text that my order was ready. There's a free 4 hour parking lot that I never noticed before nearby so I parked there. I went inside and there were two people working on to go orders. I said my name and spelled it out, gave my phone number and said I ordered from grubhub. I repeated this to the second cashier as well. They both told me that my order wasn't there and the dude told me that maybe I was at the wrong location. That couldn't be true since I copy and pasted the address from grubhubs email to me lol. Anyways I left irritated and called the restaurant when I got back to my car, they said they still could not find my order and blamed grubhub. I spend 20 mins on the phone with two reps and the first one said they spoke to the restaurant manager and my food was IN FACT there. Are ya kidding me? I told him I left and I wanted a refund. He said he couldn't give me one since the food was prepared. Yea but if two different people tell you that your order wasn't there would you stay? Lol. No! The second rep said the same but she was able to get me a refund no thanks to the restaurant. I won't be back. Their customer service is lacking and it was their fault not grubhubs. read more

I really like the Bonchon chain of restaurants but not this location. I ordered about $100 worth of chicken and side dishes for a small family gathering before a family member's medical procedure. We were under a tight schedule and I ordered the food a day before and selected the earliest pickup time they offered, which was 11am. We got there exactly at 11am and they didn't even start cooking our order yet. We got our food at 11:27am. So, that was strike one: food being over 25 minutes late. The second strike was that they didn't have onion rings and didn't tell us until 11:15am. Apparently, they haven't had onion rings for over 2 months because of supplier issues. I am sympathetic to such issues related to the current pandemic but they should've/could've indicated that it was not available on the menu or call us to let us know after the order went through. The third strike was the most offensive: the staff and the owner wasn't apologetic about the delay nor not having the item listed on the menu. My family owned restaurants and I've also worked as a waitress so I am familiar with all the issues and difficulties of being a food/service provider. But it's easy to try to ameliorate the situation by apologizing and offering to comp an item or offer 5 or 10% discount - just a small gesture to show that they are trying. They didn't even try. I was a bit shocked and even talked to the owner about how I am still waiting for food 25 minutes later and managed to get a "hey, sorry, it is what it is. We asked them to hurry and we've been having supplier issues." They really should have a better customer service and not offer pick up times are not realistic. I may not have cared too much if this delay didn't make others wait ~25 minutes plus I was late to my subsequent appointment. And I wouldn't be writing this review if the staff/owner attempted to mitigate the issue. read more

I'm sorry, does this chicken look like it has any glaze on it? It tastes like chicken. Nothing more. We asked for a side of extra glaze and were told it's company policy not to serve extra sauce. I guess it's company policy not to serve the customer? Absolutely ridiculous and the chicken would've been better from a KFC, no doubt. We were told we could have soy sauce or ranch. Eating these chicken nuggets without sauce was incredibly unsatisfying and expensive. I came here for Asian chicken, not chicken nuggets. Should've gone to Uncle Julio's. Halfway through our meal a couple next to us left without ordering anything and a family across from us complained about the same exact thing! They ordered way more chicken than us. The cook actually came out and told them some cooks are heavy on the sauce and some are light but there's nothing he could do. This place is inconsistent and not worth your money. WARNING DO NOT EAT HERE!! Horrible!! If I could give negative stars I would. First off we had this blond guy for a server who was clearly confused out of his mind. He spills ice cold water on me and my 3 year old daughter which made my 9 month old cry. And I understand that accidents happen but the compensation was laughable. All he did was give us a free appetizer... now on to the food it was disgusting! I ate here on Saturday night with my little cousin. We ordered the pork buns and each had an entree. At the start of the meal I ordered the half and half wings to go. Honestly people this is next level Korean chicken wings so you should know it gets made fresh and will take at least 30 mins from time of order! If you want that dry chicken from all day under a heat lamp go to KFC or whatever. Anyway I plan ahead so had no problem with wait times. I came here with my boyfriend and ordered our all time favorite Bulgogi Bibimbap and small boneless chicken wings along with some appetizers. The appetizers were fine but when the entrees came they were extremely disappointing. The Bibimbap was very plain even with the hot sauce it didn't help much. Nah, not for me. I went in with higher expectations and left with a feeling of Mehhh. The food was mediocre and lacking. If your looking for a basic taste, have seasoning sensitivity, or a plain food desire by all means make your way here. The Bonchon wrap was simple and easy to eat but the Bulgogi Udon had simple broth and lacked the flavor to help kick it up a notch when you would think the traditional marinated meat would bring more. Our service was subpar and slow. As a 7 month pregnant woman who is constantly hungry I was annoyed that communication from the waiter was basically non existent until the end when he thanked us while taking the check. This location is by far the best in the all Bon chon's I've been and I've been too all of them in the 20 mile radius of this one. Let's start off by when I first walking in I came with my wife. And was greeted by everyone in the restaurant. I was seated on the right wall in the middle booth. Worked for me because that booth was so spacious and great view to the window. I must say this location's food is the reason I'm coming back. I had a small wing combo, avocado salmon ball, takoyaki, and tteboki. Everything was superb. The wings were extra crispy and flavor was just right. I hate how other bon chon's spicy flavor is ridiculously spicy but the Columbia's location is just right in spicy flavor. Avocado salmon ball was just absolutely perfect. I think they're the only location to serve this. My first time trying a dish like this and it was better than what I was thinking too, caught me by surprise. My next favorite and why I'll be frequenting here more often is the tteboki and takoyaki. The tteboki is so rich in flavor and spice level is just right! I won't have to drive to EC to grab this dish anymore. Takoyaki was just the best I've had in all of the dmv, and they don't go cheap on the benito flakes. The whole meal was really enjoyable I love this place. I love all the staff very attentive and friendly. I never had to ask to refill my cup or if I need extra napkins. They took really good care of me. Very professional. This review is for my second visit to this Bon Chon. The family stopped by on Friday night and most tables were filled. I ordered the seasoned fries and we were served plain fries. I then ordered a Caesar salad for my five year old and my wife and I ordered our food. Mine and my wife's food came to is but no salad. I asked the waiter if the salad was coming, he said yes. My wife and I finished our meals and about 15-20 minutes later we were given our salad. The waiter told us it was on the house but that does little to comfort a five year old. The food was ok, nothing special. I most likely will not return to this location. read more

I have been awaiting the awesome combo of Bonchon and Kung Fu Tea to open in Columbia, and they are both worth the wait. I had a half and half wing combo and the chicken was crispy and well sauced. The spicy here is noticeably spicier (which I prefer) than what I have had at their Elliott City location. Their kimchi coleslaw was spicy too so someone is definitely heavy handed with heat. Ordered take out a few times after the first review. The reason I ordered from here because they open until midnight, other locations were closed already. I would say this location use less sauce on chicken than any other locations I have tried ( 4 in MD and 1 in NYC) last night was the worst one. The wings are big and crispy and the sauce are barely on chicken, making me feel like eating deep fried crispy flour with no taste. I always like bonchon wings, but last night I didn't enjoy it at at all. Probably not going back there again unless they use more sauce!! read more

While I've only had take out from this location (because I mean, what's better than fried chicken and Netflix and chill?!) we've had no problems with ordering, timing and how our order came out. My son loves the BonChon in Ellicott city. But together we tried the Columbia location on a Thursday afternoon 4 pm. At that time it wasn't crowded our order was promptly taken and I got to try their great wings for the first time. At night crossing the street from Parking must be dangerous. There are lots of chain wing places but this is the best. I wish there was a bigger selection of vegetables to go with the great wings they gave you some cubes of vinegar radish and my son paid extra for Kimchee. OMG... the food is great but the wait time for takeout is horrible. I waited 40 minutes for the house fried rice and 10 pieces of chicken after failed attempts to call in my order. I get it the idea of freshly prepared food, but I would highly recommend calling (wait if you can for an answer) and then adding another 15-20 minutes on the time they tell you. Then when I finally got my food, the little just dropped in on the counter. I have been to the location in DC but will never come back to this one.I suggest having more cooks for anticipated busy times or give realistic Ready times.
