DO NOT COME HERE! They have a mice infestation! My friend and I came at 9pm and around 9:30pm I'm pretty sure I saw a weird looking grey and pink mouse that ran across one of the booths into the seat. The table behind me said they saw something too. I told the server, Andrew and he offered to give us a discount and admitted to having a mouse issue lately. That should have been the warning sign for me but we just got our food. I kept looking over and I didn't see anything but Andrew placed the broom and dust pan near where the mouse was. So I got up to get some cream puffs and as I about to sit down, the mouse came back and I told Andrew and he got the broom and dust pan and caught the mouse and killed it and proceeded to have us pay. This is what really ticked me off. I went to the front before we left and asked to speak to a manager. The girl looked and then looked over at her friend (who probably wasn't the manager) and said here she is. I told her what happened and she said "yeah sorry, we have someone coming next week and he didn't kill the mouse, he let the mouse go right outside". SERIOUSLY? That mouse is coming right back inside! This is a problem that pest control needs to come out IMMEDIATELY! I just watched a mouse get killed/caught while trying to eat! I stopped and lost my complete appetite. I will be informing the PG county health department immediately and I will never come back here if this is how they operate. I never knew about Kpot's Laurel location until I stumbled on Yelp (thank you, Yelp, as always). I must say, I was pretty impressed with the overall experience at this restaurant. I got my Korean BBQ fix after my gym session, which satisfied my craving! The overall atmosphere is clean, but I only noticed that the booth seats looked a bit worn out. P.S. There were 4 of us and for some reason they thought it would be decent to sit us at a 8 seater table where half of the burners worked. Why not just seat us at a booth? I've tried their sliced pork belly, squid, rice, shrimp, beef and chicken bulgogi among other items. Their food is great- cooked well, and flavorful. I especially enjoy their seaweed salad, spicy chili sauce, Yum yum sauce, and their rice. The space is large, can be a little messy some late nights, and the customer service is okay. KBBQ here was great. Menu was extensive enough but less options than I've seen at other places. But for the price point it was a great deal at around $35 a person. The really cool feature they had here was the sauce bar - you can make whatever combo of sauces you want. So good. This is the place to go for unlimited Korean BBQ. You grill yourself over your tableside flame. It costs about $31 a person. You can make your own sauces at a buffet line that includes edamame, some canned fruit and French fries. I guess they want you to fill up on this stuff or the bulk cakes. They have many types of chicken and steak and a few sausage, salmon, shrimp and various pork belly concoctions. The meat is very thin and I would say low quality because of the price. They gave us giant rib eyes but they were very thin! You can tell the mean is low quality. They are open late and I recommend call a head seating. We are from out of town visiting relatives so had to wait-we didn't know. Alcoholic drinks are $10+ but are unusual but fun. You can also cook mushrooms, pineapple slices and a few veggies or potatoes. We only had the Brussel sprouts which were fine and the pineapple. We've visited several times now. We've tried their gyoza, fried chicken and of course, hot pot. I like my broth super spicy. There were so many spices to choose from to satisfy my need for heat! The meat selection was plentiful and fresh. We opted for pork belly, beef, octopus, calamari, shrimp, and lots of veggies. The style of this location is similar to most Hot Pot restaurants. THE PORTION SIZE! I never wanted to order to go . I always thought that if you did that instead of AYCE kbbq you'd be ripped off. Honestly happy with their bento boxes. Huge portions and great side dishes! Love the kimchi! Im always down for more fresh kimchi vs fermented. Honestly such a good deal for their togo bento boxes if you dont want to eat it in. I have been to many other kpot locations such as the fairfax and seven corners location and have NEVER had any issues with them. They answer the phone and are very clear about hours and last seating. Maybe you would care about your customers more instead of blaming them for entering the store at 10:02 instead of exactly 10:00. Terrible customer service I do not recommend going to this location at all. Love coming to this chain of restaurants. This is the closest one to me currently. Price has risen. $30.99 for dinner and weekend for either the hot pot or the bbq. Add $5 more to get both. Ordering is via a tablet. Just select what you want and the staff will bring it to your table. Selection of meats are great and very delicious for an AYCE. They also have a hot food bar which has fried chicken wings, French fries, and egg rolls. They have a sauce bar as well as do all hotpot's. For desert there are some fruits: oranges, leches, some sort of cake, and Hershey brand ice cream. Love coming here. read more

If you want to save money and have unlimited amounts of food; this is your place. I'm giving them a 5 star, specifically the Laurel location a 5 star because I've had such nightmare experiences at other KPOTs. Falls Church one really skimped on the meat each round. Another one had horrible service. The Laurel location gives you generous amounts of meat each round so you're not stuck waiting and you can really eat your fill. The staff here are super nice and made my friend's birthday a stellar one. This is why KPOT Laurel is the best one and if I wanted KPOT again I'd only go here!! read more

LOVE this place! Been here a few times since they first opened and actually twice this past week! You can either get the All-You-Can-Eat Hotpot or BBQ for $30.99 (dinner/weekends price) but only pay an extra $5 to have BOTH hotpot & BBQ for $35.99--definitely a better option and a chance to try both! For the Korean BBQ side, the meats options are GOOD quality, including short ribs (like Galbi), prime steak, prime brisket, hanger steak, bulgogi, etc.). They are really attentive with changing out the grills--and they give you beef fat & butter to use for the grill. You order food via the iPad tablet and the food items get brought to your table fairly quick. There's a lot of different meat, seafood, noodles, vegetables, etc. options! Also, there is a HUGE sauce bar where you can make your own dipping sauces, with some additional sides (kimchi, seaweed salad, etc), a small dessert section (fruits and cake) and a "fried food" section that has really good chicken wings, fries and dumplings. We were forewarned that there would be a charge for excessive food waste, so while unlimited, be sure not to let your eyes become bigger than your stomach and be excessive! The meat & seafood were good but the ramen was great!! The place was very clean and huge inside. Our waiter was busy but attentive and knowledgeable explaining everything in great detail. So I know everybody comes here asking if the food is good. Straight up, yes. So good I forgot to take pictures. Small portions so double up. KBBQ is so good! I went on the opening night celebration so it was hectic. A lot of parking. Got there at 7, can't make reservations and the wait list was very long. We waited a little over 2 hours for a party of 3. Our wait was very kind. He was good at explaining the menu. We used an iPad to order our food so it was nice to not have to wait on the server but we didn't see him a whole lot. It would have been nice to have a little help cooking the food more. Got food from the bar. The sauce options are great. The sides were okay. Not a lot of side options compared to other kbbq places. The bathrooms were clean. Again, this night was so so busy. I think service was great considering the crowd. I'm not sure if they will keep up the Photo Booth but this place is perfect for all occasions. Hopefully the wait time is less aggressive in the future or at least they add reservations. read more

Food was tasty well seasoned The location is nice ample parking, nicely decorated and appeared clean. The bathrooms could use some attending too. I was there for 4.5hrs (3hr wait) and the trash was always overflowing and the floors were wet. Now let's set the stage. I came on their grand opening night. They were offering shots of soju and champagne for seated guests. A late raffle was also being held. They had min Nothing Bundt cakes which are my favorite for guests! Here is why my stars are short. I'm standing in line behind 2 Asian women who were getting cupcakes from one of the workers that has a scratch by her right eye. They walked away with all the flavors. I knew she knew them because the server said take some for your brother which the guest did. Now it's my turn and all I wanted was a Strawberry cupcake she said that box isn't open I only have carrot open. I said I don't like carrot why can't you open the strawberry since you gave the guests in front of me all the flavors and strawberry being one. She said fine you want strawberry I said yes. I shrugged it off as she did look flustered. We finally got a seat at the bar after waiting 30+mins. We told the bartender male with a hair scrunchie thing in his hair we were hungry he said there's no food service at the bar only for those seated at the tables. I said ok. I then asked Cheryl (sp) same thing she said what he said. Minutes later two Asian girls at the bar had two plates of wings I called scrunchie boy and said I thought food couldn't be served at the bar. He said you can pay $10 in addition to your seater dinner price to eat off the salad bar now. I asked why was I not offered that when I clearly stated we were hungry. He had no answer. I said this place is giving preferential treatment vibes cause I'm not Asian. He couldn't say nothing. He ended up giving us a free shot as that was to change my perception. We ended up joining 2 young ladies at their table as we were still number 32 on the list. I told the young ladies I'd buy them a drink of their choice for allowing us to sit with them. Rom was our waiter.. we went to place our drink order and he said I can not serve you anymore drinks. I asked why he said you've had a shot and a drink already and you came from the bar. I said so there is a limit to how many drinks we can order per person? Where is this stated? He said I'm not going to be disrespected and I can get you another server. Katie comes and closes us out. I've never been to any Korean BBQ Restaurant and have felt so discriminated against, this by far has been my worse experience ever. We came here on a Wednesday night with a group of 10, plus a baby, and toddler. They have an extra room in the back that fit our whole group in one table! The majority of the table seat around 4 people in the restaurant. I have had Korean BBQ before and Hot Pot before but this is my first time going to a restaurant that did both! Everyone at our table did both the hot pot and KBBQ. I like that we could order on a tablet in order to keep ordering and not have to wait for a waiter to return to our table. This was especially convenient with such a big group. THere were tons of options for ingredients to add to the grill and broth. Also they have a condiments and sides bar on the side of the restaurant. Above the bar they even have some recipes on how to mix some of the sauces together to create super sauces! They have a full bar if interested. They do not have a physical drink menu yet though. On their website they do have speciality drinks. We all had a great experience at KPOT and I highly recommend checking this place out! It is the only hot pot restaurant around. I decided to try this place out since it's down the street from where I live and I've been wanting to for a while, so when the opportunity arises, why not? So you order your food from these tablets that's provided and they bring food out to you on a cart and to other tables. We ordered a good amount of items, I think my favorite was the beef short ribs. As much as I love to cook at home, it was sort of difficult using the grill. The waitress kept asking if we wanted her to cook the food we said yes; however, we ended up doing it ourselves. I will also say the chicken is delicious, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection. They also have a condiment bar with fruit and chicken. Saw an ad on Instagram and thought to check it out as I'm a huge hot pot and Korean bbq fan but I've never had them together. So my review is based on what I've had before. Went in on a Saturday night at 5pm. This location gets alot of people, fast turn around times etc. Now for this location/area, it's definitely a place to be. The vibes are loud, bright and fun. If you like "Iron Age" then you'll like the vibe here as well. They had an iPad ordering system for all your meats and veggies, a self serve sauce bar, a cold bar with cold side dishes and fruit and a warm bar with crawfish, fries and fried chicken. The warm bar was super popular! Overall the meat selection, noodles, seafood etc selection on the menu was a decent size. I got both the hot pot & BBQ. My pot of soup was only filled 1/4 of the way but others at my table were full. I tried asking for more soup and the waiter simply told me "when you add things to it, it'll look like there's more" which was oddly annoying. However, the portions were smaller than other places I've been to as well as the quality of the ingredients. The fries on the hot bar were still cold, the "fried" dough sticks were frozen, and the whole garlic cloves? (I expected slices not whole cloves) were already sprouting. Now, I'm comparing this to hot pot places that the cloves are cut and anything "fried" wasn't a frozen temp. The pork ribs were tasty, just be aware of the bones as they broke easily. They also only have fruit or cake for dessert. Overall pros: you get both experiences, pricing isn't bad for both (you pay the AYCE price and $5 more person for hot pot), the vibes at fun and bright Overall cons: quality of ingredients and portion sizes of meats and veggies that come out, loud, I thought they just opened the restaurant due to the number of boxes in the bar area as well as the plastic and tape on the bathroom doors. Another great addition to the Laurel restaurant scene! So, we're fans of the one in Rockville; once we'd heard that they were opening up a new location in Laurel, we just waited and waited. Well, they've finally opened and it's slightly different, but still the same. Being brand new, its all slick and shiny inside, with a slightly larger dining area, with a separate dining space for larger parties (think 8+). The offerings are pretty much the same, though the "fixings" bar offers more options for sauces, but less in terms of veg/fruit options. I did see seaweed salad which is unusual, but welcome. You've only got one variety of kimchi, but its better than the Rockville standard (which tends to be very hot). They stopped making the cucumber variant, which had a hint of sweetness and less heat that I've missed the last few times we'd been up there. In the hot options, they offer crawfish, chicken wings and fries, but sadly, no jap chae! Anyway, that's one small thing - they get pretty much everything else right. There are more meat , seafood and veg options than the other location - and of the ones we tried, we enjoyed. They also offer hot pot and it was as good as expected. All of the table grills have an overhead exhaust pipe so that the smoke doesn't just float around - though i never noticed it being an issue in other KBBQ establishments, its still a nice touch, though a bit awkward to work around if you're grilling long cuts of meat, like pork belly or ribs. Since this is a good bit closer than the Rockville location, I'm reasonably certain we'll only be going to this one - though we've only checked in once, we've actually been there four times since it opened. That's my bad, I keep forgetting to stop shoveling it in long enough to check in! I only have one complaint that stems from our last visit - due to some scheduling snafu, there was no bartender onsite until late afternoon. Not a deal breaker, but you know...I do enjoy a bit of bark to go with my bite. In any event, try it out, if you like KBBQ and have been going to Kogi, you're gonna love this place. read more

The assortment of meats and vegetables are pretty plentiful, the noodles are limited and the bowl of white rice is the best I've had is some time. Had to go for the full experience and went with both the hotpot and the barbecue. They also offer a buffet bar which is mostly sauces and condiments, such as Kim chi and pickle radishes and soybean sprouts. Chicken skewers and crispy wings. All in all the meal was very enjoyable.
