Popped in for a quick dinner lo mein. I was not impressed. I don't know if it's the kind of noodles they're using or the preparation but they were real chewy and I did not like it. There wasn't much chicken and it either and overall didn't have much flavor. I don't know how you screw up lo mein, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it. Our last delivery order from Lucky's wasn't so good but we decided to dine in today because maybe it would be better? It wasn't. Both entrees were prepared incorrectly. Asked for shrimp and got chicken? Requested steamed rice and received fried rice? These issues were corrected but in the end, nothing tasted great. If I could give zero stars I would. I've been coming to this restaurant for more than 10 years. Love the older gentleman that's usually at the register. Lately, I've noticed he's not there and Ive also noticed that the food and customers service had gone to the dogs. I just had an horrible exchange with the despicably rude young girl who always looks like she hates her job and the guy who took my order. I only ordered one item; pepper steak with white rice, always ask for more onions than peppers. On Saturday I was told that I would get an up charge for more onions, first time ever. No problem until I got my order, it should have called onions and green peppers with steak. So few pieces of meat and absolutely no sauce. I called and explain what happened and they told me to come back in to get sauce. I did not! Today I ordered again and they decide to up charge me and give me fried rice. Never in the 10 years that I have ordered this meal have I ever gotten fried rice. I don't eat fried rice and if I wanted it, I would've asked for it. I'm very clear why they gave me the fried rice because they want to up charge me. All meals come standard with white rice unless you ask for fried rice. The young girl gets on the phone is completely rude yelling, and then she just hands the phone off speaking in her native tongue. The guy gets then on the phone who placed the order and is equally rude. He tells me he could not read my mind. He didn't have to read my mind just comprehend simple English and place the order correctly. This really angered me because they took no accountability for anything. They've messed up my order two times in a row. He kept saying he couldn't offer me anything but a free egg roll which I do not eat. What would have been nice is to offer a solution and not think everyone wants something for free. This kind of deprived mindset sickens me. I strongly advise you not to go to this restaurant it seems to have been taking over now by the next generation and they are completely rude, disrespectful, and money hungry. Me and my family will NEVER set foot in this place again. So much for being a loyal customer for more than 10 years. I vote with my feet! read more

I've ordered takeout from this place several times. Overall, I think it's a good place. We often get the General Tso's chicken, which is a good balance of chicken and breading and has a nice kick to it. One dinner portion is enough for 2 people to eat (and we are generous eaters!) so it's a good deal, too. We usually order the egg rolls, too, and they are tasty. Tonight I tried to go a little healthier and ordered the Szechuan chicken. I would NOT recommend that. It was not spicy at all - it really hardly had any flavor. The menu doesn't specify what veggies are included, and it was basically all matchstick carrots, onions, and some kind of cabbage, with a few green bell peppers mixed in. I would have loved to see more colors and flavors included. It was a huge disappointment. Still, I won't hold this one dish against the place since we've been happy otherwise! I love this place! As a Gluten Free Vegan, they have my back, and the food is delicious, bountiful and fast, and interesting! They have Thai as well, Gluten Free fake chicken, veggie dishes and every dish can be altered. I just had orange tofu from the lunch menu, they've substituted mushrooms for me too instead of meat, large hot and sour soup since I didn't want the eggroll. And they have dinner specials like lunch! They have brown rice for a dollar upcharge and that with their best ever hot and sour soup is a favorite meal of mine or leftover! Absolute best hot and sour bare none, spicy! Ive had moo Shu on rice or even rice noodles since the pancakes are gluten, no need for extra sauce, yum! As mainly a take out place, it is clean, quiet, lots of tables and parking: bring friends or take a project and sit long. I bring clients there, no need for them to order, but hard not to! Water in glass not plastc! Veggie soup for light and healthy, fantastic; Sichuan green beans fabulous, not GF, but amazing, yummy! They can alter spice, salt, sweet, vegetables. Always consistently good food. We enjoy the oriental shrimp and scallops and Chang's crispy shrimp. Also try the crispy beef, it is excellent. The staff is always friendly. Best kept secret is Luckys ! Have been a regular here for 15 yrs. When you have to wait for an hour on Fri at other restaurants, you can walk right in at Luckys. Friendly family owned staff. Have tried most every entree they offer, consistently delicious. Have compared Luckys to many other Chinese restaurants referred to me in area ,by far, no comparison. This experience with Luckys was underwhelming compared to my last. The ETA for delivery was 20 minutes late. But I'd overlook that if the food had great. First, the beef wontons seemed old. Overly crunchy and also chewy. Nothing seemed fresh about them. Next, the sweet and sour chicken was surprisingly light for a large order. I'm accustomed to the styrofoam tray packed to the gills with crunchy goodness. Instead some veggies where thrown in the middle of this serving which I think made the chicken slightly soggy. Lastly, I had high hopes for the extra spicy Thai red curry combination. The container was packed with so much extra filler in snap string peas, red & green bell peppers, and bean sprouts that I had to dig for the beef, chicken, and shrimp in the no where near extra spicy broth. Delicious and cheap, not a combination you often get in the east coast. I've stopped ordering from my other usual restaurants because the value for flavor and filling just can't be beat. I ordered delivery and the steamed veggie dumplings were cold. The egg roll had bits of meat in it and i ordered it with the vegetarian fried rice which was also luke warm. Once microwaved tasted good. I wouldnt be surprised if my vegetarian tofu fried rice had traces of meat in it though. read more

We ordered delivery from Lucky's for the first time. The delivery took forever. We ordered chicken and broccoli, kung pao, fried dumplings, wonton soup, and egg rolls. The broccoli chicken was inedible. Chicken was very over cooked and the flavor was poor. I would not recommend. The Kung pao was also bad. The egg rolls were good. This is an example of Yelp working (product managers and marketers, take note ;) About a month ago my little man (who is actually the size of a linebacker) and I were looking for a quick easy dinner and discovered this place on Yelp. Being Typical Columbians and this being in a Typical Columbia hidden village center we've lived here for 15 years and had never seen or heard of it ( I think I got lost once and discovered this village center ). And to boot, there was a coupon on yelp ! So we signed up for yelp, snagged the coupon and went in. Turns out the coupon expired or something like that, but that didn't bother us one bit - we had a GREAT time and have returned twice since, once taking more folks with us. Let me some up Lucky's in a nutshell, based very consistently across our 3 visits over 2 months. The visits were on different days of the week at different times, so I think this must be pretty representative of them: This is a great, zero pretense cheap eats Chinese restaurant that does the standard Chinese restaurant thing and does it really well, at a great price. Each time, there's a few folks eating in, a few waiting on a take-away order, and someone dialed in a new take-away. Each time, they seated us instantly, and took our orders instantly but without hovering. The food came out very quickly, was clearly freshly made for us (freshly made, I can't guarantee none of it started frozen ), and was just dead on Chinese food. There's probably some fancy dishes here, but I tend to stick to the basics like EggRoll,Wonton Soup, and Kung Pao chicken. The food is great - nothing particularly elaborate or fancy - just basic amercian version Chinese food executed well, and the service and prices are great. I do want to reinforce though that this is a plain-jane restaurant; solid food, solid service, solid prices; no more, no less. If you want ambience, high-end chinese, or particularly authentic Chinese this probably isn't for you. I wouldn't take a first date there. However, once you've been married for 20 years and just want an easy, solid meal for a family of four that doesn't break the bank, you have to try this place out. The server was like my asian grandmother and told me what to order (and that i was ordering too much). Then got an egg roll bc i saw everyone ordering these. Their egg rolls are shrimp/chicken combo. Disclaimer: i'm not a real egg roll fan. I thought it was so/so but i asked for hot mustard and it was not in a packet! They make it and it was hot enough that it made my eyes water like wasabi will. LOOOOVED THAT. Also got tofu/veggie soup in clear broth. Nothing exciting. Entrees were beef chow fun - this was good. A little sweeter than i was used to but my son loved it and the portion was huge. SALT AND PEPPER PORKCHOP: MY sister and I looove this dish and get in in China town in NY. I have never found a place that could duplicate the deliciousness we experience while in china town. This place BEAT it. I was amazed. Crispy, salty, spicy, with fried garlic chipped pieces, and sauted soft garlic. Wow, it was the best salt and pepper pork chop ever. Note to restaurant owner. When someone calls an hour later wondering where their food is, don't try to tell them that they only ordered 35 minutes ago. I will never order from you again. I have an Eat24 slip that tells me exactly when I ordered and how long it has been and my food is still not here. Thanks very much for your horrible service. 1 hour and 10 minutes later, the food came, even though we were quoted 45. The food was good enough for delivery, but too bad because service was horrible and when I asked if there was a receipt from the delivery guy, he was rude too. Never again. read more
