This was our first time trying Bonchon, which was requested by our son for his birthday. We ordered carryout for lunch. The lunch prices are offered from Monday to Friday until 2:30 pm so you save up to $3 from dinner prices. Wait time was 30 minutes since we ordered in person. We tried the soy garlic fried chicken as strips and as wings and drums ($9.95 each). The chicken comes with a side and we chose fries. The chicken pieces were large, delicious, and crunchy. If you had to choose between strips or boned chicken, the strips are more moist inside. A large portion of fries was provided and could actually feed 2 people. We also tried the bulgogi beef Korean tacos (3 for $9.95). They were large, tasty, and included cole slaw inside. This was definitely a big change from the taste of a Mexican taco. Finally, we ordered the seasoned zucchini fries for $8.95. The portion was really small and not worth trying. They were heavily battered with little zucchini in it. Just stick to the regular fries. Overall, we recommend Bonchon and hope to try more entrees in the near future. read more

This place has a variety of different food. Noodles, dumplings, udon but is popular for their Korean bbq. The pork buns were a bit too fatty for my preference. The fried chicken was also a bit on the dry side. The shumai was okay but didn't particularly stand out to me. The restaurant did have good service and the food did come out quickly. Seating was pretty convenient. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Overall this place feels very much like a chain and less like an authentic Korean bbq experience. read more

This place is great! If you've ever been to the one in Ellicott City, you'll know bonchon is good! This one and the one in Ellicott City are different- but not in a bad way! The chicken here is much more crispy as visible in the photo I attached! Since it's crispy, it has less sauce compared to the strips in Ellicott City! So, if you prefer more crispy chicken with less sauce, I'd come here. Either way, any and every bonchon is delicious and this one isn't any different! I HIGHLY recommend coming! I really don't know what the bad reviews are all about, or maybe this place is getting better, because last night's dinner was awesome! Fried chicken wings (both soy garlic and spicy) - great portions (I can only eat 3-4, so there's always leftovers). Pork Buns were fantastic! I wish there were 4 pieces, for proper sharing with a friend Fried rice - amazing as always, it's flavorful and not too salty, which is my favorite thing about it. It's like any other boncon. The best thing about this place is their great service. The servers were very diligent and hard working. I always get their wings and I prefer thier soy glaze. We've been coming to Bonchon for years ,but now it's very rare unless I crave their coleslaw which I think is the best coleslaw I've ever had.. Now that's changed.... We visited the restaurant yesterday. We ordered the medium wings , korean corn minus the chilli flakes, and of course a side of coleslaw.. IDK what's going on but the food just wasn't the same as it use to be. The soy garlic sauce for the wings weren't the same. It's not as addictive tasting and the chicken is soo hard and crispy it was actually unpleasant. The coleslaw was such a disappointment. Did not have the usual onion flavor and just a nice overall fresh taste. It literally just tasted like mayo or whatever white condiments is used. No other flavor to it. The pickled radish is no longer pickled in a sense. It literally taste pretty much like water w a hint of salt and vinegar. very very little pickling going on compared to other places we received pickled radish that had soo much punch w salt, sugar and vinegar...Will not be returning! There are sooo many more korean spots like soul pub chicken and beer & BBQ.Chicken that is amazing! Such a Dissapointment coming here and wasting $55.00 what's sad is the lonely single server for the entire establishment while there are 2 girls working the register. Great wings and drumsticks! We love the soy garlic flavor and ordered a large combo today for takeout. They have a nice setup for socially distance pickup. You order in the phone and then go in to pay and pick up food. Only one person will be at the counter at a time while paying. The wings and drumsticks were delicious as always. read more

Had lunch at this location yesterday and other than having a great server this place was disgusting. We got there shortly after they opened the place was filthy dirty. Clearly no one moves things to sweep. There was food, rice and trash all over the floor under the tables, chairs and benches. The bathroom walls and the back of the door were filthy. I'm surprised the health department hasn't paid them a visit. It really grossed us out because if that's how dirty it is where customers can see I can't imagine what their kitchen looks like. A cute flirty causal dining place for a quick bite! Me and my boyfriend stopped in before going into Columbia Mall right across the street and we both liked the place! The ambiance of the place is very open and spacious which I lobed the windows to see outside. It was really cold inside and it was cold outside so bring a jacket! The music was bomb with some early 00s late 90s R&B. Service was good. The best thing to me was the seasoned fries! Great for you and another person to share! The chicken sliders were good, I think I got the soy glazed chicken but I Wish I would've gotten spicy because I felt like I was missing something. Best Bonchon in the area. Staff is really friendly and attentive. Chicken always comes out crispy and flavorful. I probably come here once a week now because their chicken is so yummy. My go-to are their soy garlic wings. The spicy wings are way too hot for me, and I prefer their wings over the drumsticks because you get more skin/breading with each bite. I'm back!!!!! This time, I decided to visit the store in Columbia, MD. I'm happy to share that both of my experiences at Ellicot City and Columbia were the same. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. I placed my order over the phone and took a nice drive over. I ordered the mini chicken sandwich but without the coleslaw ( I didn't like the taste of the coleslaw when I first placed my order at Ellicot City) So in my opinion the chicken sandwich sampler was just ok. The chicken wasn't as juicy as when you would order chicken wings on its own. Only down part was that during checkout, I selected the sweet red chilli sauce as one of the flavors, but they didn't have it. Someone called me and told me the flavor is no longer available, so I told the lady on the phone to make it all soy garlic. I didn't get all soy garlic though, they gave us spicy instead... The chicken was good though! It was crispy and flavorful. We got the family meal, so it came with 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides, and rice. I got fries for both my sides. Their fries were good too, good amount of crisp. 10/10 I would order the family meal again. I also got the tteokbokki with cheese, and I would not reorder it... this dish will probably taste better dine-in. We had a luncheon catered for our employees who requested Bonchon and let me say they didn't disappoint! We ordered platter portions of wings both spicy and garlic soy, pickled radishes, edamame, Cole slaw, Kimchi coleslaw, Kimche, potstickers, spicy mayo, ranch dressing and Japanese mayo and everything was fantastic! We had plenty of food for 22 people and some employees took home leftovers and then they asked can we do it again next month. ! We will definitely order again from this Columbia location. read more

I got the lunch special signature chicken - combo (4 wings and 2 drumsticks) half and half sauce with a side of fries. It was yummy. The drumsticks are really big...maybe next time I'll opt for just the wings. Since they make orders fresh to go it could take some time. Unless you order ahead online, it will take about 30 minutes. i love korean fried chicken, so my expectation is high when it comes to quality kfc. bonchon in columbia has nice interior, great view, great location for dine-in with friends or family (imo much better than the Bonchon in Ellicott city-- service is subpar and its more of a bar vibe). Pros: mentioned above Cons: food is not as good. I had Chicken Katsu, but it was a bit heavy on the batter and sauce was too strong. It was as if meat was not the main component, but the sauce was. And it was simply on top of white rice. Not pretty & delicious for its price. Fried chicken was same as other Bonchons: sauce is lightly smeared on the outside, and has no deep flavor as you bite into the meat. So I went here to get something to eat, I usually go to the one in Hanover but I was waiting till my movie was about to start. I really enjoy the food here, but the customer service is flaky as all get out, one time I was turned away when attempting to place an order at 9:35PM ..they close at 10PM. Another instance, I walked in and ordered, only to wait a total of 30 min, competing w the DoorDash and UberEats pick up's going on. Got a size small for wings as well as a regular updom and bulgogi udon. Both were delicious and had a good amount of flavor. I ordered tofu to be added into my bulgogi udon and was expecting soft or firm tofu but it was actually fried tofu which was fine, still delicious. I've never had a problem with service here however I do think some of the prices here are pretty steep. For ex. $8 for edamame is crazy but whay can ya do....overall would recommend just keep pricing in mind for some its on menu! read more
