I wish there were 4 pieces, for proper sharing with a friend Fried rice - amazing as always, it's flavorful and not too salty, which is my favorite thing about it. Bulgogi sliders weren't a hit, so I will stick with spicy chicken ones, because those are always great! I personally am not a fan of bone-in chicken so I found myself stuck between ordering the strips and the boneless wings. The boneless wings are much more savory than the strips. My first visit I ordered the strips and initially thought they could use more flavor. But my second visit, I ordered boneless wings and thought they were much better. I think it's one of the best Korean fried chicken restaurants in Columbia. Had lunch at this location yesterday and other than having a great server this place was disgusting. We got there shortly after they opened the place was filthy dirty. Clearly no one moves things to sweep. There was food, rice and trash all over the floor under the tables, chairs and benches. The bathroom walls and the back of the door were filthy. I'm surprised the health department hasn't paid them a visit. It really grossed us out because if that's how dirty it is where customers can see I can't imagine what their kitchen looks like. Great wings and drumsticks! We love the soy garlic flavor and ordered a large combo today for takeout. They have a nice setup for socially distance pickup. I just don't know about BonChon anymore. Maybe I'm over the Korean fried chicken thing now. My sister took me here last week to celebrate my bday and we were disappointed. She probably didn't want to go and I told her the chicken is good so we went. I ate my words because it wasn't and service wasn't either, sad to say. I feel like I wasted my bday lunch. It's weird because our waiter was nice but not very attentive. The food was ok. Since I already know that the daikon taste process I decided to go ahead and just order the coleslaw. But that was a no-go also. I kind of just wanted some kind of veggie with my wings but they don't really have too many choices for the sides. I thought I would just order some tofu and I asked something to make it extra crunchy fry it hard but it didn't come out that way at all. It was still very soft. A cute flirty causal dining place for a quick bite! Me and my boyfriend stopped in before going into Columbia Mall right across the street and we both liked the place! The ambiance of the place is very open and spacious which I lobed the windows to see outside. It was really cold inside and it was cold outside so bring a jacket! The music was bomb with some early 00s late 90s R&B. Service was good. The best thing to me was the seasoned fries! Great for you and another person to share! The chicken sliders were good, I think I got the soy glazed chicken but I Wish I would've gotten spicy because I felt like I was missing something. Best Bonchon in the area. Staff is really friendly and attentive. Chicken always comes out crispy and flavorful. I probably come here once a week now because their chicken is so yummy. My go-to are their soy garlic wings. The spicy wings are way too hot for me, and I prefer their wings over the drumsticks because you get more skin/breading with each bite. I'm back!!!!! This time, I decided to visit the store in Columbia, MD. I'm happy to share that both of my experiences at Ellicot City and Columbia were the same. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. I placed my order over the phone and took a nice drive over. I ordered the mini chicken sandwich but without the coleslaw ( I didn't like the taste of the coleslaw when I first placed my order at Ellicot City) So in my opinion the chicken sandwich sampler was just ok. The chicken wasn't as juicy as when you would order chicken wings on its own. I also placed an order for a half and half 35 pieces of chicken wings for a birthday party and Bon Chon did not disappoint. The chickens were absolutely delicious!!!! I've been to the Columbia location many times . The food is pretty consistent. It always is flavorful. I personally love the soy garlic wings oppose to the spicy wings. Ok so I love Bonchon and so does my teenage daughter. Of course I was excited to have one here in Columbia. She literally begs for the potsticker every weekend. Everything is good here. I deducted a star because I was turned off by the manager explaining to a customer on the phone it's a policy to bring the food back in for a refund after tasting it. We had a luncheon catered for our employees who requested Bonchon and let me say they didn't disappoint! We ordered platter portions of wings both spicy and garlic soy, pickled radishes, edamame, Cole slaw, Kimchi coleslaw, Kimche, potstickers, spicy mayo, ranch dressing and Japanese mayo and everything was fantastic! I'm glad I made the decision to try Bonchon again! With all the new Korean fried chicken places opening up, I haven't come back to Bonchon in YEARS. I remember in 2012, Bonchon was the only Korean fried chicken place around, and it would be the only one I ate at. Now, there are just too many options. Bonchon is still yummy though! I would definitely get Bonchon again. I placed the order onlne, and it was easy. Only down part was that during checkout, I selected the sweet red chilli sauce as one of the flavors, but they didn't have it. Someone called me and told me the flavor is no longer available, so I told the lady on the phone to make it all soy garlic. I didn't get all soy garlic though, they gave us spicy instead... The chicken was good though! It was crispy and flavorful. We got the family meal, so it came with 12 wings, 6 drumsticks, 2 sides, and rice. I got fries for both my sides. Their fries were good too, good amount of crisp. 10/10 I would order the family meal again. I also got the tteokbokki with cheese, and I would not reorder it... this dish will probably taste better dine-in. I got the lunch special signature chicken - combo (4 wings and 2 drumsticks) half and half sauce with a side of fries. It was yummy. The drumsticks are really big...maybe next time I'll opt for just the wings. Since they make orders fresh to go it could take some time. Unless you order ahead online, it will take about 30 minutes. Ok. Expectations were low the first time I visited but they were quickly surpassed by the flavorful crispy wings I ordered. However, I could have done without that kimchi. Not my favorite dish. This time I had the tacos and fried rice. The hint of sweetness in the rice makes the dish lip smacking good And the spice on my chicken tacos oMG... you gotta have that. i love korean fried chicken, so my expectation is high when it comes to quality kfc. bonchon in columbia has nice interior, great view, great location for dine-in with friends or family (imo much better than the Bonchon in Ellicott city-- service is subpar and its more of a bar vibe). Pros: mentioned above Cons: food is not as good. I had Chicken Katsu, but it was a bit heavy on the batter and sauce was too strong. It was as if meat was not the main component, but the sauce was. And it was simply on top of white rice. Not pretty & delicious for its price. Fried chicken was same as other Bonchons: sauce is lightly smeared on the outside, and has no deep flavor as you bite into the meat. It's not my type of kfc, and i think the franchise can do better to improve the savory-ness of the food UPDATE: 8/2/2020 they refused to seat us when we were there an hour before close.. drove all the way with a group of friends but they wouldnt let us dine in. I used to love the chicken here, but this last visit was no different than the quality of Buffalo Wild Wings... which in my opinion is low. The chicken used to seem battered and crispy fried... this was run of the mill meh breading. If they changed their methods I hope that they go back to the old ways of doing things. Got a size small for wings as well as a regular updom and bulgogi udon. Both were delicious and had a good amount of flavor. I ordered tofu to be added into my bulgogi udon and was expecting soft or firm tofu but it was actually fried tofu which was fine, still delicious. I've never had a problem with service here however I do think some of the prices here are pretty steep. For ex. $8 for edamame is crazy but whay can ya do....overall would recommend just keep pricing in mind for some its on menu! read more

A friend recommended this place to me some weeks ago, finally decide to give it a try. Got some takeout and was impressed by the quality of the food and the service. They wings were really good. They got a unique crunch to it. The cashier is really nice and told me about the promotion they had with kung fu tea. That's kind of cool. The food is a little bit expensive but it's still worth it. Was pretty a pretty busy Sunday night when we walked in, so we ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes after ordering for our food to finally arrive (which got stressful because we had a movie to catch). Other than that, the service was fine. The food itself was solid-- I wanted to try the Bulgogi Tacos this time and they were pretty good. The portions were reasonable with 3 pretty good sized flour tacos (lengthwise from the bottom of my palm to the tip of my middle finger). The bulgogi was flavorful and not too salty. There was a generous amount of lettuce/purple cabbage topping with spicy mayo on top. I tend to not like my tacos with too much sauce, but even though these tacos had a generous amount, it didn't overpower the taste of the bulgogi and it didn't feel too heavy either. The integrity of the dish provided by the flour tacos was great-- they didn't become soggy or fall apart so I was able to finish the tacos pretty cleanly (or as cleanly as one can eat a taco!) My friend also ordered the seasoned fries and the boneless wings, which I tried. The seasoned fries were delicious! Crisp, and the seasoning was just the right amount-- they almost tasted like the Fries version of Lays Sour Cream and Onion potato chips. The boneless wings were a bit dry for both of our tastes, although I've had their bone-in wings before and they were definitely juicier, so perhaps it's just a boneless wing thing.
