Food was nothing extraordinary but did fill that crispy fried chicken, Bonchon craving need. The radish was too sweet and could do with a lot less sugar. Service here is routinely, terribly slow. Make sure to order an hour to hour and a half in advance. Why they are soooo slow is beyond me. The restaurant is never full when I go in. Staff was unhelpful and had an 'oh well' type of demeanor telling everyone coming in - oh, we just got your order. Really? Right after I receive the first part of my order I was told I would not be allowed to eat inside the restaurant. After getting tired of waiting I asked for my money back and my request was rejected. We got an order or 8 mixed - half soy & half spicy. Got another 8 of spicy & some bulgogi fried rice. The wings were fried perfectly. I thought the spicy would be mild given this is a chain restaurant catering to 'Muricans but it was very spicy. Great flavor, but the spiciness builds. We really enjoyed both. My experience with this Bonchon location has been hit or miss. Back then the service was timely, and we got our food quickly and the staff was fairly attentive. Now, the last couple times I went, the waiters were extremely negligent. My friend and I ordered seasoned fries and a small combo apiece. We ended up getting our combo first and the waiter completely forgot about our fries. We literally had three orders, how can you completely forget the appetizer? Pretty good service and the environment is very comfortable. While waiting, the bar personnel asked me if I want water or not. Very polite and nice gentleman. They told me it'll take about 25 minutes, but it only take about 15 minutes. Satisfied. When I'm on my way out, that bar personnel also greeted me and say goodbye. Great location, easy access. The wings are crispy and hot, perfect! I ordered 10 pieces wing, and it come with a side. Even though it's expensive, but I think is worth it. The only one star minus, look at the nasty restroom, with blocked corridors. I though this is ADA wheelchair friendly. Not cool. I will definitely come back next time when I'm in the area. We have enjoyed Bonchon chicken many times before, but today we had the biggest disappointment when we got the chicken. We order the usual boneless chicken breast but we got little nuggets, so heavily breaded with the little pieces of chicken inside, so dry that was almost impossible to eat. bonchon fried chicken is literally my favorite fried chicken ever. it's so crispy, yet super juicy, at the same time! i've been to both the columbia, and hanover, location and i can definitely say that i have yet to be disappointed by them. we usually come to the columbia location, mainly because we love the atmosphere and how friendly everyone is; but with both locations, our food is always delicious. we usually always order their wings (we like to get half soy garlic and half spicy) i typically like to have a bowl of rice on the side as well, since i love eating wings with rice. i always order takoyaki as well for my appetizer (super good!) and i love their pork buns too! if you're someone who enjoys spice, i would definitely recommend their bull dak. it's spicy, but it's so dang good and the flavor is just remarkable. read more

Okay-this review is for Carry-Out during COVID. We were prepared to dine-in, but the sign on the door said that Bonchon's dining area is closed. So carry-out it was! Too bad we couldn't enjoy the sleek dining area and multiple tv's. Servers were friendly enough. They have menus available on a table a few feet from the counter and you're supposed to give them to you to clean once when you order. I think paper menus would be easier and more sanitary. We ordered the Sesame salad with Crispy chicken and the crispy chicken wrap. They told us to give them 25 minutes. To me, this is a bit too long for such simple dishes. We asked for a bottled water. Nope, they don't carry water. We order Diet Coke bottles instead. The bill was around $26. I think that was too pricy for what we got. Portions were not huge. Also, no forks that day. What? Good thing the hubs and I are pro car diners, and have a stash of plastic cutlery in the console. Chicken had a good flavor and crunch. As much as I've come to love Bonchon, the Columbia location does not meet the standard that I have become accustomed to. The waiter seemed very irritated. Could have been a bad day but when you're working in customer service, there should be no bad days. As least your customers shouldn't see it. There was an advertisement on the door that said they have sweet Asia wings which is what I wanted to order only to find out that they never received the sauce. If you didn't receive the sauce, you shouldn't advertise it. The fried were like they had been just sitting. There were boxed stacked up in the location. The chicken was hard and a bit dry. Having heard about this location and my love for the chicken of fried, this was a must to try. Walking in, I was greeted by smiling faces who politely seated me as I waited for a friend to arrive. The menu was a delightful spread of fried chicken drums, wings, and tenders but also salads, pork buns, Korean tacos, and much more! There's something for everyone! I tried the combo which was s mix of drums and wings. Half was "as spicy as they can make it" and half is soy garlic. One bite of the spicy had great flavor: sweet and yet a kick, followed by lingering kicks. The second bite was a bit spicer! Yes! By the second wing, the zing was stable but enjoyable. The garlic was just as crunchy and tasty. We also ordered a side of seasoned fries, covered in Parmesan and seasoning. Perfection in crunch and taste! My friend tried the Japchae - glass noodles, red pepper, carrots, onions, spinach, mushrooms and thinly sliced marinated beef stir-fried with Bonchon Soy Garlic Sauce and sesame oil. While you might find parking across the street or be really fortunate to find curbside, the parking garages may be your best bet. Bonchon never fails. This new location is nicely decorated, with spacious seating and a bar with TVs for sports. The staff is still training and everyone was working pretty hard to get orders in and out as fast as possible because there was a huge line for carry out when I was there. Props to to the customer service. I steered from the chicken today and got Tofu bibimbap. I almost didn't get this because it's definitely overpriced (~$14) but I did anyway. TIP: there's a parking garage right around the corner. The servers here are very friendly and attentive. 8/10 They no longer serve the honey crunch flavor, but that was our fave. Since that has been removed from the menu (it was limited edition), we haven't been back in a while. We like the spicy flavor (7.5/10) and the soy garlic is okay (5/10). However, the honey crunch is where it's at! I highly recommend the salmon avocado ball, if you like both salmon and avocado. The drumsticks were dark brown color and the skin was thick and rubbery. the meat inside was dry. it looked and tasted as if the drumsticks were fried many times over. The same with fries...rubbery. I have visited pretty much all Bonchon chicken places and other Korean chicken places (Pelicana, Choongman chicken, BBQ, etc.) around the DC metro area and by far this one was the worst one I ever had period! Perfectly cooked and garlicky for all my garlic lovers with just the perfect amount of sweet. Not your average sized wings either! They are almost the size of they're drumsticks!!!
