I ordered 20 wings from Bonchon via Postmates and it wasn't exactly the best experience. It took a little over an hour for the wings to be delivered and the original delivery person switched because the first guy just waited too long for the food to be prepared. When I order food for delivery, I am obsessed with tracking the delivery, but the time just kept updating later and later because "the restaurant needs more time to prepare the food". Im a wing typa gal, so I selected the all wings option, but when I got my delivery, it was mostly drumsticks and I was quite sad. I selected to have two different sauces, but the wings were so lightly coated that I could not differentiate the flavors. It mostly tasted like plain wings. The part that I was most disappointed about, was the dryness of the chicken. It was so hard and dry that I could barely bite into it. I would say it was 30 dollars not so well spent, but I've dined in before and had a better experience, so I'm giving then four stars for trying their best during this pandemic and for my previous experiences. I was desperate (the Dodgers was on). I told myself I wasn't going to come back but good thing I did. We ordered half soy and half Plain wings. They were by far one of the best wings I've had. Really crispy and didn't have that stale oil taste from it did the last I was here which was over 2 years ago. Maybe they hired a new fry cook, because this time it was done right. SO crispy and the amount of sauce was just right. The pickled radish is an absolute must for Korean fried chicken, and they did improve that too. However, whoever packaged the radish completely drained the pickle juice (brine). This changes the flavor and the texture. The pickles need to be in the brine to keep that refreshing sweet and sour taste. read more

The Korean fried chicken is soooo good. I like the soy glaze. The spicy is good too, it's got a definite kick to it. Not a fan of the pickled radish, but that's not a deal breaker. The spicy wings are really good. Juicy on the inside and nice and crunchy on the exterior. I do feel like the wings got smaller since the last time I was here. I've also tried the soy garlic but I prefer the spicy. The fried shrimp shumai is also really good, filled with shrimp and the honey mustard sauce is really good. Had an incredible experience here today overall. The server Andrea was amazing. She was attentive and kind; and actually had recommendations. The food was tasty. I'm a lover of Bonchon having been in MA, and they did a great job. Wings = crunchy and tasty (could have had a tad more sauce, but still yummy). Kimchi Bacon Fried Rice = this was amazing. I love kimchi fried rice. I understand it isn't for everyone but I love it and they did an amazing job. Pork buns = flavorful, soft, and overall good. I've literally been here 4 times in the last 3 weeks. My friends and I are obsessed with Korean fried chicken and it's pretty exciting to find a place that has wing and thigh options instead of giving us a chicken with mysterious neck bits and ribs. I need consistency in my food. I always order the soy garlic and the wings are soooo good. The skin is perfectly light and crispy and you could basically finish the entire plate if you were hungry enough. Our servers name was Shawn and he was very friendly and fast with his service! We orders the medium combo with wings and drum sticks with sweet potato fries and a Bonchon salad. Honestly I love this place. I always get buldak with an extra side of white rice because I love spicy but I can't handle it as much as I use to. They're always very nice to me when I go in to pick up my food. This place has really good food but very bad customer service. First, I called to see if they take reservations since we were a party of 15. The person who answers puts me on hold (doesn't really put me on hold, more like puts the phone down) and ask a guy. The guy aggressively says no and she gets back on the phone to tell me that they don't but it'll be okay since there's no one here. (Even though I'm sure that will change in an hour when we get there) Next, we arrive there and I let them know that there is 15 of us and the two female workers look annoyed and look around to see that they don't have room for us at the moment. One of the females come to us and annoyingly says that we are going to have to wait and just looks annoyed the whole time. Third, there was about 15 of us and we probably spent over $150+ on food but we had a 7 year old that didn't like wings so we got her a burger from elsewhere. The worker then mad dogs us and let's us know that we can't have outside food. Fourth, the tables took awhile so we decided that we didn't mind if we didn't sit next to each other so we all got separate tables (I was at the table where there was only 4 of us). They had a sign that said parties of 6 and more will be charged an 18% gratuity and even though us 4 sat at a whole different table, didn't even really communicate AND didn't order with the other table, they still charged us 18%. We might as well of said we were only a party of 4. An 18% tip is too high when their service is that crappy. Advise: Please look at your yelp reviews every once in awhile and see why you have 3 stars and know that the reason is because of your poor CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

My family were in the area and heard great things about this place. We ordered the Family special and it was perfect. My kids absolutely loved the chicken and French fries. I know they were fried, but were not greasy at all. They were flavorful and crispy. We took home left overs and they stayed crispy when were warmed them up. The fried rice was so good too. Craving wings and not at your typical wing place like BWW or Wingstop, we found this small restaurant in Costa Mesa. Arriving on Monday at 7:30pm it was quite empty. The restaurant looks very new and clean. There is a bar on one side of the restaurant with TV's with sports on. Then there are enough tables to seat maybe 50ish people. There was a sign out front for a Monday special which we inquired about it inside. Unfortunately the special is no longer being honored but our waitress asked the manager and they gave it to us. I'm not sure why it is out front then... I won't go into the special since its not available anymore but we got the fried chicken legs with soy garlic and we got chicken strips with soy garlic and both were very tasty! The chicken strips were really amazing because it was white meat but wasn't dry or anything. It might have been very slightly breaded but it looked like it wasn't. The chicken drumsticks were crispy and delicious. It was heavy as I got full after eating just one. We also go a side of rice and picked radishes which were my favorite. We asked for something spicy to eat with and our waitress brought out sriracha, spicy mayo and a buffalo sauce. Service was very nice and pleasant. One of my Yelp friends asked if I wanted to check this place out, so my friend and I met up with him here for a meal. My experience with Korean Fried Chicken is limited and I never really eat in this area, so I was excited to check this place out. Located in a shopping center at Harbor and Adams, there are several eating establishments here as well as other businesses with a large parking lot. This restaurant is casual with a bar to the right side upon entering. There are tables and chairs and booths in the dining area. The menu has a wide variety of items besides the fried chicken this chain is known for. I ordered a Lollicup Jasmine Green Tea with Passionfruit and also, water, which I am glad about. (See further). We decided to share the 20 piece Korean Fried Chicken, with both wings and drumsticks, splitting these among the two flavors of Soy Garlic and Spicy. We also ordered Chicken Fried Rice and Shrimp Shumai. The KFC was freshly prepared and served with dipping sauce. OK, let's start my saying I like spicy but the Spicy here packed some heat. So glad I had the two beverages at once to suck down. Phew. I enjoyed these but preferred the Soy Garlic which had nice flavor. I didn't even need the dipping sauce. The Chicken Fried Rice was outstanding. Really enjoyed this dish. The Shrimp Shumai when we were served, I skeptically looked at my dining bud across from me who really likes these specific dumplings like me. The questioning look was because they were topped with honey mustard sauce which was a new one for us. It worked though, adding a unique flavor without masking the tasty Shrimp Shumai. Service was very pleasant, friendly and super attentive. I appreciated the frequency of the refills here as I was trying to quell the slow burn in my mouth at times. My favorite chain restaurant for KFC!! Used to be a huge kyochon fan, unfortunately they have gone down in quality over the years. Must get: Soy Garlic!! Bonchon has been consistent even around the world. Most recently I ate at the Dom Mueang airport in Bangkok. Didn't run into BC until after eating breakfast, but had to order a strip combo meal because I wasn't sure the next time I'd get a chance to. read more

This place was delicious!! My mom and I have been wanting to go for awhile now every since I had her try some Korean wings. Tammy was our server and she was very friendly and helpful. We had gone to another place and when we told them it was our first time they seemed aggravated with us but not with Tammy! She answered all of our questions and made sure we were always satisfied. We got the Avocado Salmon Ball and it was amazing! So creamy with a small kick of spice from the sauce. I am still thinking about it! We also shared the small combo of wings and drums. What a treasure! We had stayed away from Korean food because of some bad experiences. We found the Resturant when at a loss of where to eat. And were in their parking lot. I was a lucky day for us. The best way I can describe it is Americanize Korean food. When entered a young man greeted us and explained the menu. We selected a chicken wrap with French fries. The wrap had what I guess was a Korean twist and was excellent. We ask what Kim chi tasted like and they happily gave us a sample it was excellent and we now order a side with every visit. Their premier dish is their deep fried chicken which we haven't tried but 90% of the customers seem to order it. It is on our list to try. The only slight negative is that it take a while for the food to be delivered because it is make order, but worth the wait read more
