I've been to this bonchon before. Seems like they changed the recipe. The boneless wings with soy garlic are extremely salty and overcooked. I wonder if they changed the recipe. These the saltiest wings I've ever had...saltier than Wingstop or buffalo wild wings and completely different than the bonchon I'm used to. I would not recommend going here anymore. Bonchon is great! Being a huge fan of hot wings, I've often said that breading chicken wings is an assault against poultry. I still stand by that statement, but places like this are an exception to the rule where they are doing something different. In fact, I would offer the suggestion not to get the spicy wings here because they just don't taste as good. The garlic wings are amazing. Whatever the case, there are great options on the menu that you will find and enjoy. I love me some Bomchon chicken! Ok, if your into spicy food, I highly recommend the spicy chicken wings, but if you like a mild spice, don't order it and get the soy garlic. My BF and I like mild spicy food but the chicken is crazy spicy but we still get it along with the soy garlic. I usually like to order the Korean tacos with spicy chicken. There's a mayo sauce with red onion coleslaw which helps with the spice on a street taco tortilla. It's phenomenal. We recently got take out during the Pandemic and I was able to pay on the phone and when I picked up my order, the girl at the counter wore a mask and gloves, and was really friendly. I dont know what happened to the food we ordered just recently. At first we never had any issues with the Bonchon at Nutley but boy we did this time I was actually excited to get wings here as it has been a while since we had one..and plus they have bubble tea so you know... Anyway I ordered the parmesan fries, large half and half wings and 2 bubbles teas then. The fries werent so good. It was salty and somewhat bitter i didnt understand the taste only that it was definitely not what i expected. In fairness, it had good crunch so i nibbled on them anyway. I've ordered from here numerous times and I have never been disappointed. I typically order wings and fries but. I've also enjoyed the pork buns, popcorn shrimp, seasoned fries, and onion rings. I've loved them all! One evening my boyfriend and I decided to dined in and ordered our usual of small orders of chicken wings and fries for me and chicken tenders and white rice for him. We were served promptly and I absolutely love and adore the kind staff. I'm not sure of their names but, they are always some of the sweetest I've met at a fast food place! Ordering my usual, there were no surprises for me. The fries were hot and crunchy, just the way I like them. The chicken was warm and crispy. There seemed to be more (loose) sauce on the wings this time and I'm thinking maybe because, we dined in and it didn't have a chance to just soak in. No biggie, they were still delicious. I do wish it was just a little hotter like the fries were when it came out. My boyfriend always orders the chicken tenders instead of wings and this time he opted to split the soy garlic and sweet crunch. He preferred the soy garlic over the sweet crunch. A friend suggested we order Bonchon so it was my first time actually trying it. We ordered the medium combo #2 & the house fried rice no meat. I also got an order of chocolate mochi ($6) which I though was a bit much for the size/portion. The wings/drum combo was good - nothing to die over but would definitely try again. The spiciness was just enough to feel it but not to overpowering to start tearing up. I thought the breading was a bit much but that's only my option as my friend really enjoyed it. The house fried rice was my favorite, perfect amount of veggies to rice and made with great seasoning. I would probably order that every time I ordered out from here. 3.5 round up to a 4-star experience if you follow my tip and ORDER AHEAD! I have to say that I am very happy that a BonChon opened up in my town! I went over to BonChon for their initial soft opening, so I knew things would not be perfect, but they managed to do the best they can with the massive amount of orders they had. As I ALWAYS say with places like BonChon that have Korean Fried Chicken, ORDER AHEAD! Check out their menu online and do this please. The chicken takes at minimum 20 to 30 minutes to prepare, so if you do decide to just walk-in and order, be prepared for a long wait. The place itself has only a few tables (around 4 to 5) that you can sit at, along with some seats against the wall so I would expect to order for take-out and once you pick it up, you can decide if you want to eat there. The chicken here is prepared just how I expected it, with the soy garlic and spicy flavors being very satisfying. I was able to try a few of their other offerings as well which included the Japchae, Fried Rice with Bulgogi, and Bibimbap. My favorite out of the three was the Fried Rice with Bulgogi as the overall flavor was on point. I had no complaints about the other dishes but at the same time they were not anything that tasted way over the top. With how local this place is, I will be definitely coming back, trying other food, and updating my experience. The wait-time for me here ended up being over an hour. However, since I lived so close, I did come here to place my order and then went back home, as they took my phone number down to call me once my order was finished. I would definitely recommended this for now until they are able to handle the initial peaked interest of people around the area ordering from here as the wait time can vary depending on how many orders they have pending. Horrible NYE experience. I placed a very small order for 10 wings 3 sliders and fries on Uber eats at 7pm. Order was taking longer than usual due to NYE which is to be expected. When my delivery driver got to restaurant he was waiting for 25 min (now 815). He told me he could not wait any longer as the restaurant said it will be 10 more min, totally fine again I understand NYE and all. Well my second driver arrives and the woman at the counter told her my food was already picked up despite the app continuing to send drivers to restaurant. So I called the restaurant to see what was going on and where we go from here. The woman who answered laughed at me, told me my food was already picked up by my driver, said she had someone there who backed her up and ultimately hung up on me. I called back and the woman continued to be nasty, condescending and treating it as a joke and then when I asked for a refund she had a complete mental breakdown. Started yelling and screaming in the phone and I could hear her throwing things over the phone. When I asked to speak to a manager she hung up on me again. I waited a few more minutes before calling back again, she read me the managers number and quickly hung up. I called the number she gave me and no answer. I sent a text explaining my issue and never got a response. Ultimately at 930pm my wife went to pick up the food and again the lady was absolutely losing her mind in the restaurant. Again, I understand it was NYE it's busy totally understandable. The food isn't bad but check your order there. I mean CHECK YOUR ORDER. They have gotten our order wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME, and we have tried them around ten times.
