Wow! What a new experience for us! Means I have seen Hot POT places many times across the shores, and though they don't give a vibe from outside (IMO), but once you step inside, it's a whole different world. Kearny KPOT has almost ~13K reviews on Google with a 4.9 rating, which means just wow! So we decided to go there instead of our nearby Parsippany location. The first thing that disappointed us was the waiting time. They only take reservations for parties of 6+, and we ended up waiting about 70 minutes, with a kid along with us. Since we had already driven 35 minutes, we decided to stick it out. We got the A2 table. Our server, Pickel Rick, explained the whole Hot Pot + BBQ concept. We chose both options together--and the whole table has to agree on the same setup (so one person can't do only hot pot while another does only BBQ...Come on, they are smart too Hot pot was $32 and +$5 more and you can have both= means $37 per person + tax... The BBQ grill lets you control the heat, and the induction keeps your hot pot soup warm. Ordering is all done through a tablet on the table. This is an all-you-can-eat thing, any meat (Pork, Beef, seafood, chicken, Lamb) for BBQ... and you can increase/decrease the temperature of the BBQ. So it's all sorted out! Induction is there to keep your soup/pot warm, order any type of noodles (Ramn-Rice-Pho to add in your soup with all veggies, dumplings, and whatnot, so keep ordering from the tab they give you to order. They have a big selection of meats, seafood, veggies, and sauces. The quality is decent, and the food comes out quickly. The hotpot broth has good flavor, and grilling the meats at the table is enjoyable. It's basically a "cook your own food" style, so it's fun if you like that kind of thing. It was a fun experience, ordering chicken/prawn/jumbo prawns/ lamb/ dumplings = putting it in soup or into BBQ platter... some got less cooked, some were well, and some I am gonna call "well done" We were there for about 2 hours, which is actually their time limit. They even mentioned you get a small refund if you leave early (first time hearing that!). Also, if you're celebrating a birthday with a group of 6+, the birthday person eats free. That's a nice perk! Great, hearing this first time... There is also a sauce bar station - for all sauces, fried rice, Fries, and Fruits Service can get a bit slow when the place is packed--we had to wait for forks/spoons at one point. First time in Kpot and it did not disappoint! Location: It is located in Passaic Avenue. There is huge parking lot. We went on a Saturday lunch and it was not busy. Lot of seatings inside and looks very clean. Service: She was amazing! Really took care of us and very hospitable. Food: Everything was good! I did not expect this but everything was delicious. From the meats they are flavored well. They also changed the grill open for the meat to not stick. There are a lot of sauces you can choose from. There are also hot foods that are available. My son & his friend really like this place which is why I gave 2 stars. They have more of a sweet tooth than I do. My review is based on my take out beef short rib order which my dog enjoyed after I removed the oniins because I did Not! I love savory well seasoned entrees I enjoy spicy food but this was beyond sweet. When I want something sweet I order dessert not an entree. The beef I had was very fatty. They're pretty quick to serve you and sit you. The vibe inside is very much a party - very loud music, energy, and lots of people going around places. Food wise is just okay. They give you an Ipad to place your order and that makes it really seamless. Servers bring out the items pretty quickly as well. They also have a buffet in the back with sauces and hot items. It took about a half hour to be seated but no worries, there's a small bar for waiting, serving up watermelon- soju mules. Excellent drink. Once seated you're given a tablet with the menu on it. A few clicks and a few minutes later plates a plenty hit the table. Bulgogi beef, garlic shrimp, pork, chicken- basically everything you've ever seen on a Korean menu is just a few taps away! This was my first time coming and I would say, I loved the experience. I came on a Saturday for lunch right when it opened with my friends and it was decently quiet that day. Our server Amber was so sweet and accommodating as we learned the flow of things and the items on the menu. You order your own food on the tablet they gave you and the items came super quick. They were very proactive with replacing the grill lining whenever it became too charred. The food, was TASTY! They marinate and season their meats really well. The Kearny branch is the place we go to all the time. The people are great and very friendly the service is great too. We always give them 5 stars on their review. However today, I had a really awful encounter with one of their staff. He said his name was Karim. I assumed he is the manager. I called to let them know about the 2 mocktails that were charged to us by mistake. I even told him that I wasn't looking to dispute coz we love going to that place and we dont mind paying for whohever that drink is for. This guy was repetitive about how busy he is. I dont mind him saying it once but the way he kept repeating made me feel like my concern did not matter and that i am just a bother.He lacked the proper communication skill, decorum and compassion. In addition he said i hope you dont mind if i do a little investigating and we will look at our cameras. I didnt mind that coz thats their process/protocol but something with how he said it made it feel condescending. I wasn't even complaining I just called to let them know for future reference. Fast forward to that first call ending. I received a text showing me that they took care of the dispute. On the second phone call he again kept saying he was busy with a meeting. Very unapologetic and very very condescending saying yet again how busy he is and couldn't chitchat. I told him I wasn't looking to chitchat I am a client with a concern.I then told him how he he has poor management skills. He should not be in this position. The service was great, but was surprised to see that we had to cook and monitor our food ourselves. Other Korean BBQ's I've been to usually handle that portion themselves. You could sense that the people who work here like it here, and they have this huge thing with a banner with glow up lights when it's your birthday, and they sing a song. It's a whole thing! Back to my time here at KPot, our server was patient and allowed us to feel very welcome. She explained everything, like how to use the iPad like device to order, and how to add more items. The meats were fresh. We ordered kalbi which was marinated so well and it was so tender. Other things we had were garlic shrimp (fresh, not frozen, small, but still juicy), steak (that's a huge portion), chicken (also very tasty). There were other yummy things like bulgogi, veggies, pineapple, and seafood. There is a spot in the back all the way to the left which is basically where you get to make your own sauce (options included yuzu, hoisin, oyster, soy sauce, sesame oil, etc). They had kimchi, daikon, and a fry station. I saw French Fries, fried chicken, and fried rice...maybe geared towards picky eaters? Some other things to note: 2 hour limit. If you are full, don't even think about going. You will need bigger pants after this meal. I just ran out of room. I stuffed myself so silly. I had decided on All you can eat (AYCE) is so amazing, because in this wonderful option, you get to try all these different things instead of have one pound of one type of meat/seafood/veggie. KPot Bbq and hotpot is such great value and when I went I only got bbq. I personally feel like doing one or the other is the way to get your moneys worth. There was a short wait and once we were seated our server was very helpful and showed us how to order. We pretty much ordered every meat on the menu. Hangar steak, short ribs, kpot steak, pork belly, spicy pork, pork cheek, thin sliced pork belly, beef brisket and beef belly. Honestly all were pretty great but I loved the thin cuts of beef (brisket and beef belly) as well as the pork belly and the short ribs. The drinks here are also good! Margaritas are $8! Our server was friendly and made us two sauces which were so good; one was a sweet and spicy sauce and the other was a garlic green onion sauce. The only thing is that it wasn't the cleanest with the floors and seats being a little bit greasy and there was some food left on our new plates but the quality and flavor of the food was solid for $31. She told us the sauce bar for bbq meats, fried rice and chicken nuggets could be found on the back wall. You'll have a choice of hot pot or bbq... we went with bbq at $30 per person. Finally! I've been waiting for an All-You-Can-Eat Korean BBQ to open around the Kearny area for some time! Yesterday, I celebrated an anniversary with some friends, and our server - Matty G - was fantastic in explaining how everything worked: from ordering on our own tablet, the sauce bar in the back, and some nice kimchi items available in the back. Dinner price for everyone was $29.99 each (in total, $90) --- and then with alcohol, we spent about $150ish dollars, which was appropriate for a nice celebration. The meats are amazing --- my recommendations would definitely be the Beef Belly, Beef Tongue, Beef Brisket, the various types of pork bellies...just be creative! My friends were so creative we made Kimchi Fried Rice right on the grill! Haha, it was amazing as well. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and had no issues with being seated. Ample parking nearby which is great. A unique aspect compared to other Korean BBQ establishments is the tablet at each table where you can place your order (whether it's for the hotpot, Korean BBQ or both!). You add whatever items you want and send it to the kitchen and after a short time they'll come by with your order. Very seamless and appreciated (you'll have to ask staff when you're finished as you can't pay without informing them first. The best part? The value for what you get. As of 6/2024 it was $31.99 per person during the weekend (just the BBQ, it's an extra $5/person if you want to add hotpot, though everyone at the table has to order the same combination!). Ordering was a breeze and they have a sauce station in the back for your hotpot as well as a small station of spring rolls, fried boneless chicken and fried rice. There's also a section with marinated bean sprouts, kimchi and fermented radishes. The best meat items we had was the KPot steak (dinner only), pork cheek/jowl and beef belly. Flavor profile on these was pretty good. I also enjoyed the smoked garlic pork belly though it's a tad on the sweet side (I personally didn't mind it but the missus wasn't a fan). Speaking of sweet, the marinated short rib was waaaay too sweet (the marinade was like a syrup). Normally I don't mind some sweetness in the marinade, but even for me this was overboard. It also created a lot of smoke and char from the sugar in the sauce resulting in us having to change the pan soon after cooking the meat. Surprisingly the same theme applies to the kimchi and fermented radish which had a sweet aftertaste to it which can be off putting if you're expecting the typical fermented kimchi/radishes. Our pork belly also was presented with 80%+ fat which was a bummer. Overall, while the value is unbeatable, for those that expects a traditional Korean BBQ palate this place may not scratch that itch. However, if your goal is to get your money's worth and you're close by then by all means give this place a go. It was ultimately not for us but it may be for you! read more

Kpot is now an addiction. It's a lifestyle. I've been here more times than I care to say since they opened. Now I've only ever been to one other kbbq spot which was delicious too but here - hot pot for $5 extra? Sign me up. I never realized how delicious hot pot can really be. Not only is it all you can eat - they have such a great variety of veggies and seafood too. If you're a vegetarian, eating here won't be a problem. I've gotten rice cakes, bok choy, tofu skin, corn and so many other veggies. Some of my favorites for hot pot is the Tom yum broth with the sliced chicken and bok choy. The rice cakes are always a hit, udon noodles are also a treat with hot pot. Bbq? Where to begin, my absolute favorite is the sliced brisket. It cooks quickly and can be dipped in any of their delicious sauces. The spicy salmon is also delicious. The sauce bar is a gold mine in itself. So many choices, peanut sauce, hoisin, cilantro and garlic, sesame oil. The fun part is trying them all and making your own creation. Now if you come here on a weekend prepare to wait a bit. My friend and I were craving some Hot Pot, and saw that another KPOT opened up! We also had crazy timing that it was opening day! KPOT has many locations and this one recently opened up in Kearny, the closest to where I live! This establishment offers all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ or Hot Pot! You can also pay an extra $5 and have both options. The tables are pretty spacious so it can hold all the food you have for the grill and/or pot. They have a good selection of options as well! For hot pot, I typically go for the beef options in the hot pot for meat which were all delicious. As a note, during dinner you unlock a couple more options, which include more prime cuts of beef! Additionally, I always look to get the Fish Roe balls and mushrooms, which they had a nice selection of. There are also a good selection of hot pot soup bases to choose from, where I chose the Szechuan Spicy since I do like that spicy food! Make sure you get your sauce made as well at the sauce bar! They also have some limited fried options to have while you wait for your soup to heat up (or have that KBBQ grill warmed up)! For Korean BBQ, give me beef short ribs all day! I have been to 4 different Kpot locations, including one in Texas, and this has definitely got to be my favorite one. I could eat here once a week, to be honest. AYCE at such a great price and good options! The sauce bar is always stocked and clean. The food comes out fast, and my favorite part about this location is that you get an iPad to order your options, so there is no need to flag down a waiter every time. Some of the other locations still have regular paper menus. And you have to order with the server, which can be super annoying. Be prepared for a long wait if you go on the weekends at night, we went at 830pm on a saturday and how to wait 45 minutes for a table. Which isn't terrible considering there is a bar. Which reminds me that they serve alcohol at this location, too. The place can get very loud, especially with so many birthdays and the staff singing happy birthday like every 10 mins. Last month, I tried out this location for the first time with some friends. It was my first time experiencing a hot pot, so I was excited. They give you a touch screen tablet with the menu, which you can add the meats and veggies you want yourself. They have so many options and a large vegetable selection, which is great for vegetarians. Our waiter was very personable and relaxed. The items came out pretty quick. The place has a nice vibe to it. They have a variety of drinks as well. There is parking since it's located in a plaza.
