After ten minutes of waiting with no acknowledgment from staff, I walked out. This part of town has undergone a shift in ownership and business culture. I believe in fairness and treating people with respect, but this place joins a growing list of businesses that do the opposite. They present themselves as quality, family-owned operations, but in reality, it is just a group of people who act like thugs with good credit scores. They treat customers in a way they would never tolerate for their own wives, sons, or daughters. If you want to be ignored, disrespected, and left waiting with no service, this is the place. I love Bonchon, but it has been a chore to get to a location. Now there is one behind my house. I'm not sure about the rest of the bad reviews. Some people only complain on the internet. We ordered online to go. The first thing when I walked in was notice how clean it smelled. I walked in through the back entrance, too, which is normally the stinky door, but not here. I was promptly greeted, and my order was ready on time. It was a very smooth exchange. Also, to note, it was a nice cool 70 degrees inside. The food was pretty decent. We ordered the drumsticks, which were very plump and crisp even though we waited 30 minutes to eat them. The spicy had a nice kick, which is what you would hope from a Korean inspired restaurant. The beef fried rice was quality but lacked a little punch. This is a chicken place, so I won't judge too harshly on a side dish. The fries! Stop reading this and go get some. Like a said, we waited a half hour to eat, and they were still amazing, even if slightly reheated. Now I really want to try their messy fries with beef on top. The only real miss was outside their control, at least partially. We ordered extra sauces, and one had burst during the ride home. I wish they had wrapped them in plastic wrap or put them in another bag since it got everywhere. It's not really a bad mark on the place, but hopefully, this feedback could help a future customer. This place needs some love from the community. I feel honored that they chose our little hood to place this fantastic chicken restaurant. I used to go to the original Dallas Bonchon back in the 2010s and loved it. Was heartbroken when they closed. Rejoiced when they opened the one in The Colony, but that was a schlep. Imagine my joy at finding out they were opening a Bonchon 3 minutes from my house! I finally made it there today. The ambiance is fine; lots of posters about the crunch and what not. That is one of the best parts of Korean wings. One complaint about ambiance: it was warm, almost hot in there. Some shades on the west side would definitely help. They had a TV on with a frozen picture of a young Korean lady that was playing K-Pop; this slowly turned into the feeling of what parent must experience when they hear the Baby Shark song: maddening. Why? I've got nothing against K-Pop, but my very basic order of 10 wings (5 Korean BBQ/5 Spicy) and a side of fries ($22 including drink) took TWENTY-SIX MINUTES. I got a meek "Sorry for the wait" when he handed me my dine-in order packed to-go (pet peeve). This reminded me why I don't tip at the Point of Sale: why would I tip BEFORE I get service? Restaurant owners should pay their staff, not subsidize staff pay. They're not Exxon-Mobil and I'm not the US Government. I sat down with my to-go order and quickly realized that it would get soggy, so I walked up to the counter, grabbed a tray, and dumped it all out. Great; now I'm annoyed. Even more annoying: every order after mine went out in 10-15 minutes. I watched these folks order at the counter, they didn't call in for pickup. Maddening. But there's a reason I came here: the food. And it didn't disappoint. The wings had great crunch. The spicy ones were spicy. The bbq ones were tangy. The fries were heavily seasoned, and maybe a tad bit salty, but I ate them all. They only serve Pepsi products (Diet Pepsi is not good) and 2 of their options were out. The final blow came as I was leaving. They have 2 bathrooms; one was in use, and the other HAD NO SOAP. I just ate wings! How do you not have soap for me to wash my hands?! We stopped by this new place the day after their 'Grand Opening' and could not have been more disappointed. The food was so-so, about the same as you can find at any middling chicken place, but for the amount we got, the price was high. Also, the employee we dealt with could not have been ruder, more condescending or less professional in attitude and knowledge of the menu. We also had some concerns about the questionable general cleanliness of the place...if they can't be bothered to wash their windows properly, why would the kitchen be any cleaner? As of today, the windows are still filthy (even though we pointed out their condition very nicely before we left). I was very excited to try this place out because I would always go to the Frisco location until the service was very bad. Me and my friend went in and only a few customers were there. We order dine in and would expect fast service, unfortunately we had people that were ordering after us for pickup and got their order. I was fine waiting for 30 minutes and then a team member saw we didn't got food. I just told him my order and he left without saying anything so I was hoping that they were working on it. Waited another 20 mins and I had to go to the front to ask about my order and the lady inform us our order would be done in 5 mins.
